Lovely place to stay. Excellent room and very clean. BIT noisy as room on main road at junction. Nice con breakfast with local produce. Will stay again.

Wonderful place and friendly staff

The sheep and penguin is a delightful hotel about half a mile from the city Centre. It is very homely with friendly and helpful staff. It is clearly been refurbished recently and the decoration, particularly in the bedrooms was extremely good. The climb up onto the second floor was a bit challenging, especially after a day out walking. We ate in the restaurant one evening and the food was lovely. My only disappointment was that the breakfast food didn’t seem to be topped up. I had granola on the first morning, but it was nowhere to be seen the following mornings. Our friends had a problem with their car on the second morning and the staff were extremely helpful to them and sorting out the problem. We are sorry enjoyed our visit. Thank you.

We had the best room ‘Emperor’ which was fabulous. Unfortunately it was during the heatwave and we roasted as no air con. Lovely staff, good breakfast and dinner. Lost a point for maintenance as the terrace is tatty and needs some TLC but our room was top notch.
