The property overall and the room I stayed in were excellent. The staff and management were courteous, helpful, and very accommodating. Unfortunately, the pool was being serviced and only available on the last days of our stay. Ordinarily, this would not be an issue, but with an active 9-year old looking forward to a daily swim, this made our stay just a bit more challenging.

The elevator was not working when I was there last time and still not working. The wait was about 15 minutes for the elevator and the breakfast was about to close. So I suggested that if the elevator is not working to allow guest have breakfast and have breakfast open for another half hour.

Enjoyed my time at this hotel. This was my second time staying there with my family. Unfortunately,the pool was closed for servicing during our stay this time around. You can tell it is an older hotel that has been well managed. The beds are very comfortable and the rooms are spacious. They also have washers and dryers available for use at a fee which is really convenient.Cabinets and china may have to be updated at some point. Breakfast is simple. The ladies who manage the breakfast area could be warmer to some customers. Some of the front desk personnel were so welcoming. Shout out to the Congolese gentleman who usually does nights and to the African lady( I didn't get their names-sorry) . Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

Pool was closed, barbecue area was dirty, Ice maker was broken.. pool was one of the reasons I got this hotel . No dining and breakfast was very poor. Staff and front desk were very nice and welcoming.. I would not go back here on my next trip

We stayed for 3 nights while visiting family and taking the train into Washington DC on two of the days. The room was nice, with 1 king bed and sofabed for my son. I liked the shampoo, conditioner & body wash containers inside the shower and lotion on the counter. Beds and pillows were clean and comfy. The breakfast in the morning was outstanding! scrambled eggs, sausage or bacon, waffles, the usual yogurt, fruit, breads, bagels & muffins but they also had a daily special of breakfast burritos you could assemble with pork or chicken, eggs,tortillas, different sauces like a cilantro crema and it all looked homemade by the ladies in the kitchen. The pool and hot tub looked nice, but we got back to the hotel too late each night to use it. The hotel was near the Shady Grove train park & ride station so that was convenient. Used laundry room and that was fine too. Only issue was they were resurfacing the parking lot that week and made parking very tight some nights. But they gave plenty of notice about it so we knew ahead of time. Overall, very nice place.

The hotel is located in a more business sector but included free parking and breakfast. Also had a workout area and a pool. The place was very clean and comfortable. The morning breakfast was great and evening restaurant (located next door) was ok. It did not have a lot of selection. However, it is an easy drive to a number of different restaurants and other areas. I would stay again if in the area.

Great option because prices in the DC area way too expensive. Free parking and free breakfast a plus. The pool was great with good hours as well so that is a plus for me. Great dining only 5 minutes away by car.

We stayed in a two bedroom suite which was a perfect set up. Two queen beds in one bedroom and a king bed in the other bedroom with each having their own bathroom. Excellent set up. The breakfast buffet was a little strange having pulled chicken on the buffet with taco shells instead of pancakes or french toast as the signs showed with their breakfast advertised in the elevator and around the area. Still had oatmeal, muffins, scrambled eggs etc. In the suites, the shower/bath tub areas were very filthy looking, eventhough, it was probably a surface issue on the bathtubs it should be addressed since it hinders the cleaning process and looks gross. The drawers in the bathrooms were unusable and gross. The kitchen was a nice feature if it were kept up. Needs cabinet cleaning and refinishing or some inserts to help keep it clean. Sliding mirrors in the closet were broken keeping the doors from sliding open and close. The dressers smelled and transfered the smell onto my clothes. Should’ve kept them in my suitcase even after cleaning out the dressers.

My husband I had a great stay at Homewood Suites Rockford/Gaithersburg, Maryland. We stayed a week while visiting family. From the front desk, breakfast staff and housekeeping crew we were greeted in a professional and personable manner. The included breakfast buffet was the typical hotel breakfast with the addition of tortillas and rotating choice of fillings. This area was well stocked with hot and cold food. The room and hotel was clean and comfortable. We will definitely stay here again when we are in the area

Beautiful and cozy room! We felt like we were in a furnished apartment rather than a hotel room. The gas fireplace was very nice and gave the room feel like being at home. Comfortable furniture, clean kitchenette that included dishes and cookware, and a full size fridge! Only thing missing was an oven. My one and only complaint was the lack of hot water in the bathroom. It was room temperature at best. If we're in need of a room again, we will definitely book it here.

Very clean and the cleaning staff were wonderful, friendly and helpful while the front desk staff were in the back, reading or appeared to be busy. There was a mouse in the sitting area that came in from the cold and I had to call (yell!!) several times for the front desk person to put down traps.

The bath tub in our suite was awful. The drain needs to be cleaned and unclogged. Water kept filling up after two mins of having the shower on. It’s just nasty to have your feet in the dirty water you are showering in. Tub also needs to be bleached, bottom was so yellow. They’re also pretty “economical” when you asked for toilet paper or box of tissues! All in all improvements are needed but it’s a nice place to stay.

I have stayed at this hotel many times with some visits lasting a month. This time it just struck me that the hotel is showing its age. The window ac units are incredibly loud. They would wake the dead. The sliding door on the closet kept falling off the track. Doors in the kitchen area don't close all the way. Small items except for the ac but I will be looking for another choice before the spring visit.

The room was dated, but large, with plenty of space, and very quiet. Plenty of parking. Included breakfast was very good with the hot courses changing everyday. We had no/limited hot water the first night, which was then fixed, one elevator was out/broken, and our room was only half made up one night.

The front desk clerk who worked the evening shift at 8;30 pm on September 2 was disrespectful to my husband. When he questioned her about why there was no luggage carts she brushed him off and walked back into her office and did not come back to the front desk. The lady was Asian. The breakfast buffet was unappealing. Not a good variety.

My room selection was misleading on Expedia.com and wasn’t enough room to fit my family. My family and I decided not to stay the night at the hotel. The hotel front desk employee wasn’t very friendly and just blamed Expedia.com. It’s unfortunate that I’m an Honors member.

The ONLY DRAWBACK to this hotel— NO APPS ON TVS. The EMPLOYEES ARE GREAT! They are Helpful- Cheery- Sweet- and Do a Great Job! Even Maintenance Man was Excellent and Quick to fix a minor issue!

Great stay. We were here during the Microsoft crash and all the computers were down so everything was as handled on paper. The staff was surprisingly calm and efficient for such a big problem. We checked in easily got our room with very little delay. We found our room very clean and comfortable and any needs we had were addressed right away. The breakfasts were pretty good also. The only critique I can give is that the room was a little dated. It was clean enough that it felt good despite it being older.

Don’t let the 3-star rating fool you, this is a quality hotel that should be a 4-star location considering the upgrades, location to a variety of restaurants and access to the Metro station. Plus a quiet safe neighborhood.

This property was BEAUTIFUL, clean, and quiet! I was extremely impressed with how nice and spacious the rooms were, parking was ample, and there is a wonderful plaza full of restaurants right behind the hotel! There was not much staff presence (the front desk was usually empty), but the staff was always very helpful and kind! :)

Everything was good, but breakfast was limited No pancakes and waffles offered. But, was delicious what they offered. Room door and pool keys were Working with several tryouts. Most of the time I had to be bailed out by pool goers. Overall it’s a great place to stay
