So refreshing to stay at a hotel that is genuinely dog friendly. We and our dogs had a lovely time.

We really enjoyed our stay, the hotel is well placed for visiting lots of lovely places. The restaurant was good and made getting food after a long day very easy. The breakfast had plenty of choice. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well appointed, they are a bit warm (we were staying in July though) so after reading some of the other reviews we took portable fans with us, but as it was there was a fan in both rooms we booked anyway. We had rooms looking out over the road which is quite loud during the day but it wasn't enough to ruin our stay and we wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

I'd love to be able to give this hotel 5 stars. It's wonderfully dog friendly, the hotel size is not too large, so you do get to know other people who stay at the hotel. The retreat area with free coffee, water and cake is a lovely touch, and whilst I didn't use it, the dog bathing and bike washing facilities looked exceptional. The only thing that let this hotel down was the lack of air conditioning. We stayed during a heatwave, so sleeping was very difficult. There was a fan, but only a small one, which seemed quite old and dusty. It was difficult to get the fan to reach both of us in bed and the dog in his crate. If the hotel were to get air conditioning, or even just bigger/better quality fans, I'd stay again without a moment's hesitation any time of the year.
