La Mon Hotel & Country Club

We liked the pool and the gym and the walk around the hotel. The room was clean and comfortable it just looked different to online pictures, reception staff was rude but the rest were nice. We also weren’t explained about a breakfast voucher until we checked out which we were annoyed about.

Excellent stay for my daughter’s birthday. Staff were friendly and professional, but also made a fuss of the children and made them feel special, which was just lovely, especially for the birthday girl! Hotel was clean throughout, comfortable bed, bathroom was spotless, breakfast and dinner were both excellent and the kids loved the pool also. Overall a fantastic experience and we wouldn’t hesitate to book again!

The property at first glance seemed lovely. The bar was poorly stocked and staff were unable to make cocktails not on a very limited menu guide. There had been two weddings while there and staff felt a bit overwhelmed and several people seemed new. Not their fault, I’d put that down to poor management. This also was why it was fairly noisy late into the night and there was a very loud argument at 1am in parking lot outside our window.The hall carpets were dirty and pulling away from the flooring, a slight trip hazard. Room carpet felt cheap as well. It’s a beautiful location the facilities just seem to need an upgrade, staff was all very polite and helpful.

Me and my partner had a great stay, as a young couple we cant recommend it enough, beautiful place , staff were so nice freindly and helpful , rooms immaculate! Breakfast was lovely! The facilities and pool were great, we didnt want to leave HA! We will definitely be back and recommending to friends and family !

Had to move room on 1st night not long after checking in & going to room as only made up for 2 even though booking was for 3 (were there for 1 night under Expedia & 2 nights La Mon itself) & this room also only made up for 2 but was supposed to be a room for 4. Also new room shower ended up spraying water over rail onto tiled floor, consequently slipped & hit head as didnt see & realise or expect floor to be soaking. Was advised by reception when got back at tea time shower, extra cup, glass etc for 3rd person & mat sorted but got to room & nothing done. On way to reception as phone in room didnt work either, we saw maintenence man & housekeeping & sorted problems ourselves - nothing had been passed to either parties. Asked 3 times for a bath mat over 2 days for in the bath but was never provided. Went for breakfast at 7 a.m. & the milk my grandaughter (age 6) put on cerral was off & curdled. Luckily we noticed in time when she sat down, before she started it. Had Macaroni cheese for dinner, couldn't eat it as was so bland, tasteless & it certainly had seen no cheese. Tiles & grout around swimming pool & spa pool were dirty & missing which you could easily cut your foot on if not careful, not safe for visually impaired. Such a lot of hard earned money had been spent, to be such a disappointment & for a Four star, wouldn't give it One star & were so looking forward to going - never again.

I found the staff extremely helpful. The steam room and sauna was a bit disappointing and could benefit for upgrading as could the gardens and grounds in general.

I had a lovely stay ,the staff are welcoming friendly and helpful, the pool warm sauna jacuzzi and stream room lovely. Big step down into jacuzzi though ,i did mention to lady on desk she agreed and said she would bring it up with management. My room was biggest iv been in .in a long time . The food was lovely .good service . The lounge area lovely staff friendly and the entertainment was great . Breakfast buffet was great plenty to choose from . And you can still use facilities after checkout . I will definitely be back

On arrival, multiple Smokers at entrance was not pleasant despite the ‘no smoking’ sign - however the hotel had provided an ash try, which didn’t help discourage them. The Email via hotels dot com prior to arrival were out of date (Covid restrictions related) and email address missing. No fridge in room, No AC, No safe, No coffee maker (just a kettle). Damp (paint bubbling) on wall and ceiling. Torn curtain net. Flies in light fiitting in room. Hairdryer was stuck in drawer a had to virtually dismantle drawer to remove it. Pool booking system would be good as was far too busy at times. No pastries on first day at Breakfast. Good WiFi, Staff were very good. Good size TV in room with Netflix app - Fire stick is good idea if you have one. Good location if you need to be within 25 minutes of Belfast. The Galgorm is also a 4 star Hotel but is 1000% better. Some relatively simple maintenance in the room would have made this review much better.

On arrival to our room I was disappointed with both the size and the lack of a bath, however I was pleasantly surprised at the birthday wishes and chocolates. The bed side tables in our room were visibly dirty and we had to ask domestic staff to come and clean them, there was a large dead black beatle on the floor as well as food crumbs around the window. Although there were 3 if us there was only 2 cups/glasses/water bottles. The hair dryer when turned on started to smell of burning and made a screaching noise before stopping completely. The pool was lovely but the shower beside the steam room didnt work properly. Your restaurant was very over priced for mediocre food. In saying that, the staff were fabulous, warm and friendly and very helpful.

This is possibly one of the worst hotels I’ve stayed at, to call themselves a 4 Star hotel is truly laughable. We had to move from our first room due to the overwhelming stench of damp in the room, when asking to move the reception staff were unsure if there were any spare rooms as a number of people guest had requested similar moves for the same reason. Our second room did not smell but that’s about as good as it got, dirty mouldy bathroom, lights missing bulbs and a generally unclean feeling.

Beautiful hotel. Excellent staff service. Room was very clean and comfortable. Ordered a chicken ciabatta sandwich which was very small but tasty. Breakfast was excellent. Self service with a good variety to choose from.

very disappointed overall with our stay at your 4 star hotel. The room was basic with 2 cups (3 staying in room), stains on the bed throw and bits on carpet (looked like it needed a good hoover)..room 58..every 10 ish minutes a loud noise echoed through the room so no chance of an afternoon nap. the same noise stopped overnight but recommenced at 8am. Im told it was the hottub or something from the spa below our room. We ate in the restaurant as were told it was the same menu and price as bar food. We waited a long time to have our orders taken and we had to ask for my hubbys drink again as it was forgotten, We were a group of 6 and had 2 strawberry dacaris..same with big lumps of ice as aposed to crushed. Portions were small. Food was nice but so overpriced. For ice-cream for example was 10 pounds sterling. i was shocked at the prices due to the portion sizes and price. After the meal we went into the bar but had to go to reception to ask for a drink each time. Generally so disappointing. It is a beautiful location but certainly NOT 4 star.. more 2 at a push. On checkout when said about noise told it was the air con but then the lady was corrected that it was the spa. Given a cadbury cream egg as an apology!! will not be recommending or staying again

Lovely hotel, however due to it hosting functions, there is a lot of noise into the early hours from other guests which can cause for an interrupted sleep unfortunately.

Cracking hotel the room was vary spacious and so were the facilities, friendly staff definitely would come back 😄

Walls are very thin. Can hear people just normally talking right next door. Not much sleep is able to get done….

Comfortable bed and the room is big. They had complete amenities in the room as well.

Big and bright room with comfortable beds, delicious breakfast buffet, and most of friendly staff that go.out of their way to make sure you have a fantastic stay.

Our double room was 2 single beds pushed together . Was very uncomfortable i never slept 1 bed was fine the other you could feel the springs digging into you.

Nice hotel, location etc. The room I had seemed to have a water pipe issue, the noise sounded like a generator was running right above my room, receiption staff didn't seem suprised so I think its an ngoing issue. Food choice is a bit limited but good quality. The price of their rooms doesn't reflect on the experience, probably wouldn't stay here again.

We were so impressed by this hotel. Fabulous room, very comfortable and spacious. The pool was great but mostly it was the welcoming and accommodating staff who made our visit so special. They were so helpful. We got room service instead of eating in the restaurant and it was fabulous. The Operations Manager who was on firing the evening of our visit made it such an easy process and the food was delicious.

Hotel was nice , toaster at breakfast was very slow and bread hat to be put in twice to toast it , found some bread with mould on it , said it to girl and she removed the slice but more bread for toast had mould on it , not the freshest of bread being used for toast, was waiting 45 minutes for food at dinner , service was very very slow , other than that the hotel is lovely.

What a disappointment, I was staying on business and stayed pre covid which was good . Curtain hanging down in the room , dated bedrooms no air conditioning but I was given a fan . Glasses in bedroom were out on black napkins very dirty looking . The staff were so good the girls in the bar and reception but totally understaffed and the poor girls kept apologising it wasn’t their fault management should have put more staff on . There was a tour bus , a big sports group and a debs and not enough staff it was a disgrace to leave the receptionist bring on bags to the tour bus and also do her job at reception. Breakfast was not 4 star 2 star at best . Bar food was fine . Unfortunately I won’t be staying again and I hope management don’t put staff under pressure like that again !!!

Our stay was lovely! Staff were brilliant, made us feel so welcome, our little girl was nervous staying away far from home and the girls behind reception gave her a goodie bag and an easter egg and she was absolutely delighted! We will definitely be back soon!

I booked for dinner for four people. We had our starters and main courses which were good but we never saw the waitress again to order sweets or coffee. The bar could not add drinks bill onto our room account because the reception staff were not available. The room was comfortable and breakfast good with attentive staff.

My wife and I spent a pleasant night at La Mons for our anniversary. The location was lovely. The pool was very nice and so too was the room. Our big issue was confusion over the breakfast time which led to us missing our breakfast. This was due to an error at the front desk. Unfortunately the staff we talked to were quicker to blame us or other staff than focus on making it right for us. This felt like a let down given the quality of the hotel.

Staff so friendly and helpful. Food was excellent and plentiful Bedroom was spacious with all mod cons.

La Mon is a diamond of a hotel - outside Belfast, so nice and quiet, clean, friendly staff... As business trips go, i will continue to use La Mon for many years to come.

Lovely setting , easy reach of Belfast

What a great reception we received when we arrived. The lady who was on reception made us feel really welcomed. The two waitresses in the bar/restaurant were also very focused on making sure we were looked after, and the food was first class, we had the Burger and an Open Prawn Sandwich. Both absolutely marvelous. We never got to use the hotels pool and country club due to the times we arrived and had to leave but if they were like the rest of the hotel's staff and facilities I don't think we would be disappointed. Waking up to the Dawn Chorus of birds in the heart of the Irish countryside, what nicer way to start the day.

Very comfortable an convenient. If you have the chance to drive or rent a caéis a great option. Staff is Lind. Food is nice and tasty. A good place to have a quiet time in the country area of Belfast.

Start with the positives, nice hotel in quiet location. Large comfortable room and bed, although a tad dated not too bad. Couple of long hairs in the bath not great though. I am celiac but choices for dinner very limited despite the menu stating they offered gluten-sensitive options. when I asked the waitress pointed out the gf options on the menu..I think a curry was only one. When requested I was offered a burger with a gf bun. However it was clearly microwaved not toasted as it was solid, burger wasn’t great either. I didn’t ask at breakfast, just picked what I knew to be gf. Breakfast choices were fine otherwise, but not worth £18. Oh and I had my most expensive pint of soda water with a dash of lime for £6.65!

I have been twice in the past couole of months and althoufh the staff are really nice, sadly the food is far from great. The evening meal & breakfast both dusappointing. I am Vegan my husband not and both were bot imprrssed wifh what was served Infact on my second visit i didnt book evening meal and waited until i got home for breakfast....making it an expensive bed foe the night.
