Lea Marston Hotel

Pleasant stay, used all facilities and booked treatments. However the toilet in the room hadn't been cleaned, the shower was cold, really struggled to get wifi and the showers in the spa were blocked and flooded the changing rooms. Staff were helpful and friendly.

Well I Dnt know were to start realy the bed was like sleeping on a hard wood floor the breakfast was poor didn’t even manage to eat it ended up having a blow ov coco pop that was it the pool and steam room and suana could do with a good clean I’m sorry but it was not worth the £200 I paid and won’t be returning eny time soon

The room was comfortable, the shower was fantastic great pressure. Room a little tired, outlook into central courtyard was dreary, all concrete and a couple dirty looking ponds. Curtain in the room was torn. Bed were comfortable and clean. Pool was great our son enjoyed it once we were allowed to use as children can’t swim untill 4pm

Friendly staff nice food . Lovely spa

Generally I enjoyed my stay. The spa is lovely. But the floors are thin and you can easily hear the people in the room above stomping about. Also the ceiling of our room was not clean and had marks and stains all over it above the bed which just looked off putting. But generally my stay was fine.

Room was nice, booked because wanted to use spa the next day, it was not great. Basic facilities, too busy and nowhere to lounge as everyone puts towels on beds when not using. Would be disappointed if I had paid specifically for a spa day. Needed the hotel as was in the area and would stay again if needed- free parking was helpful.

I have been to this hotel quite a few times and always had a good experience. The location is very convenient for visiting the NEC which is the reason I choose this hotel. I usually don’t have time to use the facilities but this time I used the swimming pool. The women’s changing rooms were in a disgusting state with dirty towels laid in a large pile. No idea how to get a towel until another swimmer told me that I was supposed to be given it at the spa reception but the guy on the desk was too busy talking to his mates. I had to ask another member of the public how to use the combination code on the lockers as again no information given and no instructions anywhere. I only stayed in the pool for 20 minutes as full of people who are not hotel residents. On the whole this is still a lovely hotel, some of the bedroom furniture is looking a little tired and for the price of a basic room with breakfast being just under £400 these small things matter especially when I have just had a week abroad and the accommodation cost nearly £150 less for the same standards. I do love the quiet and convenient location and the main hotel and so dining staff are very attentive, friendly and helpful.

Good location and benefits from the pool and spa.

Nice hotel and the executive room was nice. Spa area lets this hotel down. changing room lockers all broken with doors hanging off. Whole spa area looks tired and needs updating. i think 4 star is a little bit of a push here.

The room was lovely. Unfortunately we were really disappointed with the spa area was unclean. Used towels and robes left about. Kitchen area had used tea bags and sachet papers and spoons in the same plate as the pastries of which were rock hard. When I went to put soya in my coffee it came out in thick chunks as it was off and curdled. Put us off returning

The property was ideal for the purpose of our stay, close to family, however the property requires decorating and some repairs completed especially in the bathroom shower area, there was mould around the seals and some of the seal was missing or coming away, the toilet flush was very poor, there was no complimentary water in the room either which I feel should be standard in all hotels.

Lots of thick dust behind the bed and some cobwebs in the room. Everywhere was a little tired.

What can I say I arrived at the hotel around 930pm as I had a wedding to attend elsewhere on the following day. First impressions room was dirty the carpet let’s just say you didn’t want to walk on it bare foot. The curtains where stained the headboard was dirty and dusty the was cobwebs everywhere. The tv worked but you had to set the time and date everytime you left the room or you couldn’t use the guide as once you left the room all the electrics switched off. Once unpacked time to take a shower glad I bought my own toiletries very tight on these wouldn’t have been enough for 3 people and there was 3 of us. Looked up at the vent in the shower right above where you stand dirt and dust is an understatement. Finally we go to bed and was woken at 3am by the fire alarm this went on for 2-3 mins now this is fine it happens but what was unacceptable we didn’t know whether to stay put leave the room and no announcements where made. In addition reception wasn’t answering the phone. Asked to speak to a a manager in the morning no one was available until 1 we where a wedding so no one was available during our stay to address the concerns. Not to mention as the last thing don’t expect a warm breakfast all cooked food is stone cold before you have even sat down 2 mornings in a row both the same. Shame we stopped at this hotel for my sisters wedding 6 years ago was so impressed at the time standards are less than a 2 star hotel at best now.

The room was lovely but not clean, the sheets were stained and horrible, there was hair all over the floor so it clearly hadn’t been hoovered in a while and the sinks were dirty. Lovely setting but cleanliness was sub par. Also the breakfast was disappointing, I emailed to enquire about catering for gluten free which they said they would, and then I get to breakfast to find their understanding of allergies / intolerances to be poor quality and I couldn’t eat there as I didn’t feel safe.

Rooms were comfortable bit shared areas were tired looking and carpets were not clean. Good breakfast but had to drink coffee from a paper cup which was disappointing.

It wasn't the best.. Arrived to a cold room despite be phoning to say we would be late as caught a flight home rearlier. One packet of biscuits to share. Arrived to an empty plastic bag on the floor. Cobwebs in the coving which I absolutely hate. ,then it was noisy during the night.

At first looks very nice, however old and dated. Rooms not clean and needs some love. Good breakfast but the room has no natural light there are curtains that are closed. Made me think they were hiding something.

The best part of the hotel experience was the staff. Our party checked in early and the reception staff was very accommodating and kept our bags and suggested we use the spa if we would like to freshen up and relax. However, the spa is in need of repairs and more cleaning in the changing room. The room we stayed in had VERY dirty sheer curtains, (brown, gross stains) it had cobwebs on the light fixtures next to the bed, pillows flat as pancakes and only 1 channel on the TV worked. The dining room staff were very nice and friendly. The downside is there are limited hours for food service and several of the menu items were not available for dinner.

It was okay needs a modern renovation

Run down room looking at golf course so was a little noisy. No plugs near bed for phone charging or usb WiFi was patchy and awkward to join. Staines on carpet and ripped chair.

There was only luke warm water dring my stay and load banging/knocking sound until about 10pm! This was reported at check out. The wifi in the room did not work as i believe there signal was too weak.

I liked it property nice on the outside , staff are very nice and polite when spoken to, rooms are nice and clean however there very basic and have no plug sockets next to the beds also not much information given upon arrival about the facility’s within the property. Other then that we was given an upgrade on our room to a suite Which was really nice but again no plug sockets near bed and very limited within the two rooms inside suite.

Room dated

Very poor. We stayed here for a night before our holiday with our 1 year old. The room was very old and outdated. The room was freezing cold throughout the duration of the night with no temperature controls or dial to change this. I complained to reception which in fairness they gave me a metal heater for the room but with a 1 year old running around this was dangerous. We all had the worst nights sleep because our little one was up all night freezing cold. We was then told in the morning that we could have been upgraded to a superior room however this was not offered when I initially complained. We paid £100 for the night which was unacceptable for the quality. Also breakfast very average. We have stayed here plenty of times before but sadly will not return.

Tired rooms, could do with an upgrade. Shower was faulty, plenty of hot water but the shower control was broken, had to have bath as only cold shower available.

We've been going to the Lea Marston for many years now, and whilst we still love it, some of the rooms need a re-furb. Bedside USB chargers would be good too. PS I particularly enjoy using the driving range and the short but fairly tight and quite pretty 9 hole course. Lots of water!

The reception staff were great and we couldn’t fault them but we were really dissatisfied with the lack of care that we experienced. When we arrived there was only one towel in the room despite there being 2 of us on the booking, there was pen scribbled on the head board and there was two pillows on the bed without pillow cases, it just seemed a little unwelcoming. Not taking away from the reception staff as they were kind and friendly but wouldn’t go back purely for the reasons I’ve previously stated. I hate to write a negative review but I really was disappointed in our stay after looking forward to it

staff are amazing

Poor service in the bar we asked for a menu then the lady explained they had a valentines menu on and said she would get it but failed to get it so we left the hotel and ate out. The pool was full of couples who looked like they needed to go back to their room for some privacy! Trays outside rooms on the floor full of plates. Breakfast was nice but we watched staff walk around a butter pack off the floor about 30 times without even picking it up. One of them being the assistant manager who finally picked it up after someone told her it was there. The bed was like a brick and it was two singles put together.

We stay here frequently because it’s just the best hotel around for service and quality rooms with a guaranteed great nights sleep Rachel is a credit to lea Marston and she looked after us from check-in to departure . It’s always lovely to see Mo who always goes above and beyond to make your stay welcoming . Thats for another great couple of days stay will see you soon .

Nice hotel friendly staff good food would stay again

Stay was average. Staff were all lovely but not forthcoming with information, we had to ask several times regarding check out, breakfast, use of pool etc. Breakfast was well below par especially for the 12pppn we had to pay. Our room was not very clean, the bins had not been emptied since the last people had checked out and we had to go to reception to request for someone to come and look at the shower as it was boiling hot and controls were not working. The shower heads were also filthy. Overall there is no way this is a 4 star hotel.

From Arriving to leaving the staff were exceptional. Front of house staff were really helpfull especially trying and succeeding in finding me a screwdriver because my car key fob was not working. My Room was spacious and very clean no complaints. Dinner was served in one of the restaurants which was quiet busy. But did not wait any extra for service. Breakfast was buffett style but great choice. The fitness suite was good also. Overall no faults.

Fantastic hotel, with great amenities and kind staff. They were very accommodating of our travel delays and gave us no issue checking in late. Would absolutely return

We stayed here for one night before a day out to Drayton Manor - the location is ideal for this! The hotel was very comfortable and we felt welcome by all the staff we met.

Pleasant stay at Lea Marston's, we utilised this hotel to go Drayton Manor the following day. No issues whatsoever with the room, it was clean spacious and relatively modern. In terms of accessibility it was easy to find and an easy link to Tamworth. Not to mention my car had an issue to where the RAC came to the hotel and the reception were accommodating towards it. In terms of value, I would say that it’s well worth it. We stayed in a deluxe double. Would recommend and would return.

It was a good location

Wife had a spa day whilst I went to watch the villa. They upgraded us from an executive double to a deluxe suit when my wife checked in and it was lovely! Room was spacious, clean and had everything you would need. The staff were friendly. We are at a local pub, which was nice. Local area is a bit remote, have to travel a few miles in either direction for a shop or food, but apart that’s no problem if you’re driving. Will definitely stay again if we are in the area.

Good value, but out of the way.

It’s a serene and quiet environment away from the hustle in Birmingham town. For me it’s perfect location for getaways and steal a moment to get to the busy town and back. The staffs are welcoming, lovely breakfast and oh the amazing landscape with a good field.

Friendly staff, great location.

Very friendly staff and the restaurant was very busy but the staff coped great food

Room was clean and comfortable. We booked for dinner, we ordered two bottles of wine plus other drinks. The waitress just pronged the wine and glasses on the table. I asked for wine cooler twice and got up to ask again third time, to be told that the wine cooler are in the locker!! took them a long time to come and take the food orders. I asked for my granddaughter order to be brought out first as it was 8.30 by that time. Despite our request, all the food arrived 40 minutes later COLD CHIPS, COLD VEGETABLES MY GRANDDAUGHTER almost fallen asleep waiting for her chicken strips and chips.

Very expensive for what you get plus the food was expensive and very poor restaurant was half full and they said we had to wait to get seated 20 minutes later we were in a empty room with tables to sit 30 People that had been empty all the time there was 6 of us and everyone’s food was bad will not go there again

Good value and friendly staff. Food was nice. Breakfast kept running out despite there only being a few guests and it took ages to sort (15 minutes to refil the coffee machine after being notified for example. No glases for the juice, no bread for the toaster, no milk for the cereal) Hotel doesn't feel like a 4 star, it's in need of some tlc. It's not in a terrible condition, but it feels very 1970s and not very special

Perfect for our weekend, convenient and staff were very helpful. Food was lovely and even though breakfast was very bust the staff filled up the items as soon as they were aware.

Nice rooms and the hotel was functional. Evening meal was disappointing and not many options so ended up ordering in for the second evening. Nice breakfast. Would stay again and overall good. The dinner let it down.

Nice room but let down by tired bathroom. Only had breakfast in the restaurant, the produce was good quality but the service and organisation was poor. Plenty of waiters thought they were not proactive and had to be told items were missing from the buffet before restocking. Claim to be dog friendly but not allowed in public areas except Hathaways pub, not allowed to be left alone in room but not serve breakfast in Hathaways, how does that work?
