Helpful & courteous staff made a big impression. Excellent Supper even on is Sunday night-Grimsby Haddock superb! No music -relaxing and peaceful dining room . Outstanding breakfast -great choice & fresh cooked -lovely hostess made the experience one to repeat ! Car parking is plentiful and very convenient straight outside our room ( actually perfect if one had any mobility issues or required safe parking for valuable stock in a van ).

We can't say enough about the property. The staff was the best! And the spa is awesome. The TV's could be updated so that guests can plug in a fire stick but other than that the place is perfect.

We stayed in the adjoining building, the shower was grubby, mould in the corner, soap dish was rusty, the room wasn’t very clean, wouldn’t stay in those rooms again, my partner said the spa was first class, & the main building was clean

We were extremely disappointed to discover only after booking that, despite being advertised on the Expedia Website as having pool & spa, that we were not allowed to use these facilities. We booked this hotel believing that we might have a swim/sauna on arrival and perhaps again before departure. On enquiry directly with the Spa we were told we could book a 2 hour session before we left for a very significant cost. If you are advertising these facilities on your website it needs to be clearer that the spa is not generally available for residents to use.

Was very disappointed to find out on arrival that the spa was at extra cost £50 for 2 hours and required booking. This is not clear on this website and was the whole reason we booked this hotel. The hotel itself was very charming and the staff were friendly. This websites needs to state the spa is at extra cost and requires booking, I booked multiple rooms and must say we were all extremely disappointed given the price

If you are sleeping here I would ensure you take ear plugs and a portable air con! It is a shame as the staff are very polite and helpful. Food was OUTSTANDING! The gym was in good condition and well maintained and cleaned. However, the room was like a sauna and when I opened the window there was some form of generator outside my window pumping more hot air in and the perpetual hum whilst trying to sleep was not the most amazing experience! When I walked out of my room in the morning the hall was cooler than my room! But on the positive, I had an amazing breakfast before I left

Excellent place to stay, nice bar, great food and excellent room. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again and the staff were really excellent. The place was so good that I still give it 5 stars even though the breakfast experience was less than expected. Breakfast menu is fantastic - nothing much I can think of that wasn't on the menu. The experience was a little bit spoiled by staff forgetting to bring mustard to the table so my meal was almost cold by the time it arrived. Also the toast took forever as had to remind them and then it was 3 half slices between two people. There is no doubt they would have brought more toast though I'm sure. Only mention these things to help the staff / management with feedback as this places seems really well run and I think they would value the feedback - with those things fixed it would have made the whole experience perfect rather than excellent :-)

Absolutely stunning venue. Great place and facilities in a period setting. I struggled to sleep for two reasons, the rooms were so warm and when I opened the window to cool down, the road noise was terrible. Could do with air con or climatic control but I appreciate this may be a challenge for a building that is likely listed.

Had one night at Ye Olde Bell Hotel & Spa. From the outside it looks nice. Check in was quick, room seemed okay, it's a very very old building but that can also some times be nice (if it is fairly well kept). That is not the case here. There were 3 tables with guests in the restaurant and the male waiter was so busy talking with the guests at one table, that it was close to impossible to order anything. He was so ignorant that it was unbelievable. I normally never write reviews but this experience was just too much and I must admit that I stay at many hotels and do experience a lot. This place could actually be nice if a little more money would be spent on maintenance (fix things when they are broken - thank you) and have a waiter that actually care about the guests and not are busy caring only about himself.

Hyggelig eldre hotell, med svært hyggelig betjening. Dusj kunne vært bedre, og det var noen edderkoppnett i vinduene. Men maten var god, bare beregn god tid til frokost for alt må bestilles og det tar litt tid.

Delightful old building however that doesn’t excuse the poor state we found our room in. Basically the room was unkept dirty carpet, lots and lots of cob webs spanning over 3ft and a net removed and not replaced in the bathroom. Could not get a taxi due to the location and we felt the property was over priced. Positive the staff where made aware of all issues and tried to resolve.

Service, food & staff were amazing, we had a housekeeping issue with our room which was dealt with immediately & professionally, we were staying two nights attending a large Birthday party lunch. If you want a relaxing home from home hotel, go for it!!

The reason why I rated eco-friendliness only 3 is that I could not switch off the heating. I had to open the window with the heating on to have a comfortable sleeping temperature.

Outstanding staff - friendly, helpful and fun! Food generally very good, but not always piping hot. Lovely premises and gardens. Nice decor in the room - but the standard double bed too small. Had a very enjoyable stay and would definitely return.

Loud music playing until 1am on a Tuesday. Reception was not helpful when complaining about the noise. No good for a week time business trip. Otherwise staff were very nice and the hotel has a nice charm.

Staff were exceptional. I really liked that throughout my 4 night stay that the staff remembered my name and were really friendly and helpful. Any issue I had was quickly rectified. I reserved a Superior Double room. On Check in to my room I noticed it was a Classic Double (as advertised on their website). I queried this and was given a Superior Room quickly. Bathrooms were out of place, the two rooms I had did not reflect a 4 star status. Quite basic and there was no room to place any of my toiletries in the bathroom. Need a shelf please! Breakfast was delicious, I love the freshly cooked to order selection and the yogurt and fresh fruit (strawberries, blueberries and blackberries) were especially my favourite from the buffet. Agree with other reviews, coffee at breakfast is not the best!
