Beautiful grounds! We enjoyed the convenience of the restaurant and the quiet country setting.

Especially good for electric cars; convenient location for The National Arboretum

Great atmosphere and service excellent. Grounds excellent for sitting outside having a drink. Very relaxing stay at a good location with easy parking. Enjoyed classic car event held there on the first night we staid there.

The hotel is nice. The building seems to have been converted from a country house and the interior decorations are quite nice. The staff are friendly and eager to help. We didn’t try the evening meal but the breakfast was good. The hotel doesn’t have a lift, although there aren’t too many steps, still a lift seemed necessary. Also the bathroom seemed to be in need of refurbishment. I would give the overall experience four out of five.

Room was spacious, clean and comfortable and the patio opening onto the gardens was lovely. Food was nicely prepared and the staff polite and helpful. The M4 was noisy at times disturbing the tranquility but was able to sleep well.

Stanton Manor Hotel offered a peaceful respite from the M4, so convenient, beautiful garden to escape to for a short time. Very comfortable bedroom. Lovely restaurant and bar. Good find.

A hidden gem..5 minutes off the Motorway in a very quiet location..safe and secure parking which is very important for me..very helpful and friendly staff. Lovely big room.I ate in the Restaurant and the food was delicious. Unfortunately I left to early to have breakfast. I will definitely be back.

Plenty of parking, lovely old manor, room excellent, some decoration taking place in bar area when we arrived. Can see a lot of upgrading has taken place the last couple of years. Excellent service by all staff. Lovely room overlooking garden with access to outside area for us and our dog. Very dog friendly

Been here in the past a number of years ago which prompted me to stay again. This stay was not as good the room I was in needs some redecoration, had stains on the walls, nowhere to do any work had to sit on the bed, it was a very cold room. Only good thing was the bed was very comfortable. Won't be staying again unless changes are made

This hotel was horrid. Dirty, dusty, musky, noisy, broken, in dire need of a total refurb. We arrived at 10pm to find the hotel unstaffed, our key was simply left on the counter. We went up to our room, we had paid £135 for an upgrade to a 'Superior/King Room' and were given Room #2. I wanted to cry when I walked in. The room looked like a shabby nursing home. It stunk of dust/musk, had the most bizarre furnishings and decoration that made the place really unwelcoming, and looked NOTHING AT ALL like any of the photos listed on this add, which all show nice modern clean rooms; are they fake? The bathroom was the real horror story. Broken flood tiles, exposed pipes, creepy tiled steps up to a bath (which was a deathtrap, broken non-matching taps, and a shower that didn't work properly (you had to have both bath and shower on). The lighting in both bathroom and bedroom was garish and white, no mood or ambience at all. The room was stifling hot despite it being a mere 18º outside, no air con or fan provided. We opened the bedroom windows but the roar of traffic from the M4 was horrendous. The heavy centuries-old dusty curtains also let in no breeze at all; yet they could not be left open as there were flood-lights on all night right outside the window. It really was a house of horrors, and completely fraudulent given the images of an entirely different hotel that they have posted on this website. Ruined our holiday. Will be seeking damages. AVOID.

Friendly staff, superb food and very clean rooms.

We haven’t been to Stanton Manor for 15 years and were very happy with our stay. Lovely friendly welcome at reception and an easy check in. Super clean and comfortable room which had been recently refurbished. Food was delicious, served quickly and all staff were great! We’ll def be back

Our room was clean and comfortable but felt a little dark and gloomy. I should imagine there are better rooms at the hotel with pleasant views of the grounds.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Food plenty of it and presented and very tasty. Room good size cleaned every day.

The building is nice and grounds are lovely but inside there is room for improvement. Our double room was very small, the bathroom was tiny and all could have done with a refurb. The biscuits were out of date. I ordered the vegetarian breakfast but no veggie sausages left. Also should have come with avocado but didnt. We only received the free toast because we asked for it.

Duty manager was really helpful aiming to get our room ready early as we needed to check in before a concert. Staff were friendly. Manor was a lovely old house with some original features. Our bedroom, however looked nothing like the example on the website. It was huge and clean with a superking comfortable very clean bed. The rest of the room was very dated and tired. Wallpaper had obvious damp patches. Bizarrely there were 2 identical cheap modern pictures on opposite walls which clashed with the striped wallpaper. The furniture was all old and mismatched rather than eclectic. There was a settee in the room but was quite stained. The tea making facilities were good but with biscuits rather than homemade flapjacks as advertised. The restaurant was very disappointing. The website highlights the skills of the chef, local and homegrown produce and a Sunday roast. No Sunday lunch was on offer and a very limited menu. We had the salad which was delicious and fish and chips. The fish was good but the chips were huge wedges which had been cooked so much they were dark brown and hard. Breakfast was expensive and didnt live up to expectations. A continental is £14.50 Full english which was 1 sausage 2 folded bacon 2 eggs 1 lukewarm tomato dry black pudding and a tiny dish of beans was £18.50 with no toast. Coffee was lukewarm. Sweeteners never arrived despite requesting. Service was slow. It was perfectly adequate and located for what we needed and we'd use again but skip breakfast

You’re given a phone number to call in emergencies…

Very charming and attractive property. But it’s old and probably un insulated. Thin walls and noisy. People upstairs were heard loud and clear all night. Couldn’t get our heater to work the entire stay. Asked front desk and the gal was going to adjust but never improved. Took an hour in the restaurant to get our food. We were the only ones there for quite awhile. Waitress said it was miscommunication with the cook. Ordered a glass of wine and the bartender brought my husband a beer he ordered and didn’t bring my drink. Finally had to go find her for that too. $60 and and way too long to be served dinner. And no compensation for the inconvenience. Food was ok. Menu in the room doesn’t match the menu in the restaurant. Which was disappointing. We were told this is under new management. There’s potential. Hopefully someone will take interest.

The property, staff and food were lovely. Unfortunately the heating isn't adjustable and it was a bit cold in the room. The shower fluctuated in power, with it not being much more than a trickle for some of the time.

The room that I was in suffered from 'bad positioning', being open to the reception area and the bar. The noise didn't settle down until late. Then, the really poor sound-proofing meant that the snoring person in the adjoining room kept me awake - it sounded like they were in the same room as me. At some point, during the night, they got up and moved around making more than enough noise with creaking floorboards. I got very little sleep on the first night and even less on the second night. I did mention it on checking out, but an apology doesn't make up for lost sleep. I stay in many hotels for business, and this experience ranks as one of the worst for noise.

For such a grand looking place my room was in need of serious maintenance - shower barely worked, the window did not close, general condition was tired. Very noisy during night due to being near bins or store? with staff accessing at 3am on noisy gravel drive. Could also hear adjacent room and corridor easily.

Evening meal was good but service is slightly lacking. Breakfast allows you just one hot dish. Cereal and yoghurt was brought to you so no self service. It was included in the room price but wouldn't pay £15 each otherwise.

The comfort room was disappointing the lighting was poor inside the room The shower needs a revamp and the bathroom was small fits only one person in at a time

Wonderful old property in an excellent location just off the M4 near many places of interest. The staff were extremely friendly, helpful and efficient. The accommodation was lovely and warm with a roaring fire in reception in chilly weather and our room was very clean and comfortable with en-suite shower and constant hot water. No noise at all at night was an added bonus. Our only criticism would be that the waiting time at breakfast was rather long but the food was always hot and beautifully prepared. A suggestion for availability of snacks at lunchtime might be worth considering also but we really enjoyed our stay and we would definitely return if in the area again.

Staff at this establishment were very attentive and professional. We really enjoyed our first few nights in England. They were extremely helpful in our transition to the local culture.

Manor House in very nice grounds. Dining and bar facilities available. Let down by some issues with quality of food preparation but were resolved by management with acceptable compensation.

Stanton Manor Hotel is a cosy Cotswold hotel, with friendly helpful staff. Conveniently situated to a junction off the M4 and the lovely Cotswold countryside. It was quiet and comfortable, we would go back to this hotel.

Characterful and convenient, just off the M4. We had a lovely room (particularly liked the bathroom configuration) no 9. Noise from the motorway is only intrusive if you are not expecting it. Suited our needs perfectly.

Beautiful manor in the country. The bed was comfortable and the room was lovely. Breakfast in the restaurant was fantastic. This is a great place to stay.

Beautiful building with lovely grounds. Room very spacious. Food was exceptional to very high standard and amazing flavours. I could have eaten the pudding twice it was that good. Staff were friendly and efficient

Fab Hotel in fab location, lovely rooms, nice bar area, BUT, very peculiar breakfast options!!! £14.00 for Continental and if you should wish, having already paid £14.00 for continental you can then upgrade to cooked for another £10.00!!! Very odd arrangement indeed! Needless to say I decided not to take breakfast at potentially £24.00!

Beautiful building and gardens. Limited breakfast (self service for continental would be good) and limited choice for evening dinner. Staff very friendly and helpful.
