I booked it for the spa, pool and sauna and was very disappointed to find the pool full of kids swimming classes all Sunday morning. It would be fair to mention these regular classes in the description of the hotel as I would have booked elsewhere to have a relaxed and peaceful swim. Nothing against kids of course, but it would be only fair to disclose these regular pool activities and not mislead those who are looking for calm. Nice hotel and staff otherwise.

Short stay on a business trip and was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. Very comfortable, good breakfast, great gym and pool facilities (can be busy, it is a club) all included in the room rate. The golf course looked lovely although, unfortunately, no time to play. Made use of the driving range (mats and open air grass bays, £12 for 50 balls) and the putting green which are decent. Enjoyed the stay overall and will return.

As a couple you should avoid Fridays and Saturdays. The noice level in the restaurant was more then average as there was many male golfers in the room. Loud and no respect for others. Nice staff, Big gym and pool but over crowded. Unfortunately the golf course was in worst condition with brown fairways and green looking like they did a paintover with green colour. Staying Sunday to Monday was much calmer and enjoyable.

It’s a beautiful property with a good pool, jacuzzi and spa. The staff are all friendly and welcoming. Breakfast is a good enough spread. Food options are limited, just 2 restaurants and both are overly priced. Just eat has about 12 restaurants in their local list. The rooms are a good size, we stayed in a suite, the main bed room was a super king size but actually 2 beds joined, so there was a gap in between. The living room had a good double sofa bed for our child and we found this a great addition, instead of being crammed into one room or the expensive option of booking 2 rooms. There was a Nespresso machine, apart from kettle and usual tea/coffee supplies, this was a pleasant surprise. There was also a mini fridge in the room. We don’t play golf but for people who do, I think it would be a perfect place for a golfing holiday. I would definitely recommend this property and will surely return. Just a few suggestions, the property could do with a few plugs to charge devices, we had to disconnect either the kettle or coffee machine to charge our phones.

Exceptional location, well presented and brilliant extra facilities like spa and pool. Food was excellent, room very good quality too. Staff polite and friendly, only minor point is there is not separate area for hotel guests to park so parking peak times when a lot of members using the golf course is difficult

Lovely Hotel, stayed in a village room was lovely spacious and comfortable. staff were helpful, should have booked a spa treatment in advance, but the pool & steam room were lovely. Jacuzzi and sauna were busy. Breakfast was lovely.

Friendly staff, beautiful setting, lovely breakfast! Afternoon tea was ok, not the best I’ve had, scones were extremely crumbly and the bread was a little dry. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable, however I would have liked a fridge and the cold water didn’t run very cold. The spa facilities are lovely, clean and a good temperature. I would definitely stay again, it was so pretty with all the Christmas lights around the quaint little buildings and staff were excellent.

We had a lovely stay. The had a lovely apartment with all amenities. Used the pool and jacuzzi/sauna/steam room all great. Had a meal in the bar which was great and quite good value. The wine however was extortionate £13 for a large glass and £10 for a medium glass!!! The site was beautiful the lake and grounds were lovely and the little church was lovely! The service was EXCELLENT in hotel and spa. Thank you. Would highly recommend...but stay off the wine!!

Beautiful location. Was disappointed as I’d said beforehand the stay was a surprise for my partners bday. This was not acknowledged. We had a lake room, which had amazing views and was gorgeous, but patio doors weren’t clean and veranda was covered in cobwebs, just a little bit more care would have made it amazing. Breakfast was gorgeous, plenty of choice.

Room was dirty, found nail clippings on the carpet by the bed. Shower very temperamental. No lift for suitcases, wasn’t offered help. Limited vegetarian and vegan options. BUT Great fresh tin water supply and lovely view on ground floor outside.

Staff were most helpful and professional and pleasant both at Reception and at Breakfast and when we ate in the Bar. Our assigned room smelled of vaping and we were allocated another room but it had a view of weeds and an unattractive fence from a basement perspective. The room was not cleaned on day 2 despite my confirmation to Reception that I should like that . So my general impression is one of disappointment

We liked the gym and pool, and the cast iron restaurant was good, the location was great, and the staff were helpful. A couple of things that stopped us giving a higher rating - there was a sticky stain on the sheets when we arrived (which they came and changed) and a blue sticky substance on one of the towels. We also ordered room service from the bar menu and the food was disappointing and did not match the description (like regular fries rather than sweet potato fries).

Great breakfast!! Room had a soaking wet carpet which we had to use towels to ‘mop up’, this was reported to reception when we arrived and we were told someone from maintenance would be out the next day. No one ever arrived. Nice big bed, although dated. Windows were absolutely filthy, complete with cobwebs on the inside. Housekeeping was in attendance every 3rd day, you could request clean towels if necessary. There was not enough tea, coffee or milk for 3 days. We requested extra milk & were assured some would be delivered later that day. It never arrived. First night the restaurant was fully booked (192), so we could only eat in the bar, from a very limited menu. Limited more so because they ran out of fish for the fish and chips. Next night we did go to the main restaurant which was a lovely room with great staff. They ran out of fish n chips again and there were limited amount of steaks available, so we couldn’t have what we wanted. I would not choose to stay here again which is a great shame, it’s a beautiful building.

There was no air conditioning within the room which was not good in hot weather, there was a desktop fan but this didn’t help much at all. The room was spacious and the bed very comfy, but the bathroom smelt of the drains and the shower pressure was poor

Had a great stay, the grounds are lovely and the hotel has so much character. I stayed in a small cottage which is a newer building set away from the main complex. It is nice but the bathrooms are a bit rustic and could use work. The room itself was great, it was spacious and very comfortable, but not air conditioned which could be tough on a very hot day.

Very nice scenic and rural location with a golf course. An old building so the rooms are a little tired but reasonably clean. Staff are friendly and plenty of different rooms to choose from. The lodge rooms are nice with a lake view and comfortable big beds.

Love the hotel, the grounds lovely, all the staff were friendly and helpful. The only thing was the tv had only four channels, no ITV or channel 4 Or 5. Would have been nice to have these later in the evening.

Marriott standards are not what they use to be. The hotel, and facilities are very good, however, our room was far too hot, and there was no thermostat to adjust … The fridge didn’t work, and the general condition of the room could best be described as tired… We had to open the sliding patio door to keep the room temperature down, not ideal by a lake and open to all….. Not sure how their billing system works, my bank account was charged on the first night for some extras..even the reception staff were perplexed..

Beautiful hotel. Nice food. Was let down for me by service in the morning. I awoke to no electricity in my room. As the phone was not working I had to dress and go to reception. The receptionist told me someone would attend in 25 minutes which I don’t think was a great response time. However after waiting for 1 hour with no one attending I had no choice but to check out having not had a shower or a coffee in my room.

Whilst on this occasion things didn’t go as planned, I still couldn’t fault the staff on the way they sorted the issue quickly and generously. It was a trip away for my birthday and everyone went out of their way to make my stay memorable for all the right reasons. Amazing food, delightful surroundings, excellent staff, couldn’t fault our stay. A special shout out and thank you to Sonia, Dan, Lucy and the lovely lady with the glasses whose name I didn’t catch who greeted us for breakfast each morning; exceptional customer service accompanied by a welcoming smile and friendliness. The St Pierre are very lucky to have you. We will be back soon :)

Food in the Flat Iron restaurant was good but the service was very slow, it took over 40 minutes for our grill main courses to arrive and we noticed all the other diners food arrived around the same time so it looks like there might have been a problem in the kitchen?

My wife and I were looking for a place to stay on the drive home from visiting family and St. Pierre Country Club would have been the perfect place were it not for the noise. The grounds are stunning, the room was comfortable and spacious, it was just what we needed until guests came home from an event in the early hours of the morning, drunk, rowdy and noisy. I know that this happens with hotels, and that the other guests were just enjoying themselves. They woke us up, but we could have quickly settled back to sleep until one of them started banging on the door of a room down the corridor. I poked my head out to see what the noise was and to see if I could assist, and a drunken, aggressive women shouted at me before resuming kicking the door of her room (I presume she was locked out). The high ceiling meant that sound was carried down the corridor and echoed loudly throughout our room. As the kicking sound went on, I phoned the reception hoping that someone could let her into her room or resolve the issue. For about 30 minutes as the banging went on, I rang the reception again and again, on multiple numbers from multiple phones and had no response. There’s supposed to be 24 hour support, but we felt absolutely unsupported. Eventually the kicking stopped and we got back to sleep, but this completely ruined our stay, especially ahead of a long drive down to the south of England the next morning. If you decide to stay here, we’d highly recommend bringing earplugs!!

I was unhappy to be told 2 days before the visit that the suite I had reserved was now unavailable and we were given the next best room which was not good enough. One of us had yo sleep on a roll out bed. All that was offered in terms of compensation was a bottle of wine and some chocolates. The suite had a king bed and a double sofa bed and this was required at booking and should have been upheld. It ruined the stay

I checked out today. I was in room 327. At around 10pm last night I had a spasm and my wife needed to call an ambulance. There was no signal. The phone in the room was broken. My wife was terrified. She ended up running up and down the corridor to get signal. Eventually able to get through to 999. Minutes count here. WiFi was terrible. No way to contact reception. Everything could have been worse. The ambulance made it. I was ok but could have been much worse. The mattress was terrible. All I could feel was springs. No sleep and on checkout I was advised there would be a manager contact me. No email. No call no nothing. Worst hotel in experience I have ever had.

Stunning location for what could be a stunning hotel, but getting a little tired and rooms (102) could do with some TLC. Some simple enhancements would also make a difference, IE bottled water in the rooms, more attentive service at Breakfast, had to put our used plates on adjacent table to make way for 2nd course, net curtains would have been nice as was on ground floor with lovely views of golf course, which meant golfers had lovely view into our room!

A little tired around the edges. Had aa family dinner in the restaurant and can honestly say it is the worst meal we have had in years. Bland, and poor quality. We did mention it and were told it was because there were weddings elsewhere in the building.
