Clean and tidy. Pool was well kept. Friendly staff. Very convenient 8 mins walk from the castle. Good breakfast buffet.

Good things: - 1 - staff were kind - many thanks 2- food was hot and delicious 3 - lounge and dining area was comfortable 4 - room was good 5 - swimming pool was nice Things we didn't like:- 1- Parking space is limited, tight for cars bigger than Corsa/Fiesta. 2- floor board squeaky 3 - swimming pool changing area floor was dirty, lockers were horrible, don't work. 4 - the kettle on the room was dirty.

Nice clean family room, exactly as the pictures showed, perfectly functional room. Nice breakfast, served until 10 , which is nice if you’re a bit lazy in the morning! Great location, bang in the middle of town , 10 mins walk to the castle, and plenty of pubs and restaurants. The bar prices were quite steep (£7.35 a pint!!) but the cocktails were reasonably priced. There’s plenty of options in town. The jewel in the crown for this hotel is the pool area. It’s really wonderful, beautifully tiled, nice and big, we were there during half term and it wasn’t too busy. We really liked library aswell, very cosy with its big setees

All rooms need a major update, but all in all a good hotel, pool and gym area very clean and modern

Good hotel overall, but I had booked it specifically to avail of the spa/pool facility so was very disappointed that these were not available. Looking again at the communication sent by the hotel, the closure was indicated at the bottom of the first email, which I missed. Other than that, it is a decent hotel. The food was disappointing.

Great family room. Well equipped gym, great pool. Full english breakfast was superb.

We enjoyed a 5 night stay making the most of the pool which was a lovely experience every evening. Sometimes we used it twice a day. The breakfast buffet was really good and had a good choice of foods, both hot & cold. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The location was good, it has good parking and we would return to this hotel.

Overall we had a lovely stay. The room was a good size. The location was good. Unfortunately our bathroom was not as clean as it should have been on arrival. Other days the room was cleaned properly. Booked hotel as it had a spa a shame the water in the pool and jacuzzi was not heated and cold.

Firstly, the staff were amazing. They were so polite and lovely... It's the hotel that lets it down. By that, I mean the way they do things, breakfast is limited and not worth paying for. They're stuck in the 70's with a small fry up section, some yoghurt with no fruit to pair with it, the toast is toast, no complaints there, but a rather poor selection overall for the price. The coffee was okay, probably the best part about it. The 'Spa' needs to be dropped from their name, the saunas are lovely, hard to get wrong. But the pool was very cold, not heated at all and more of a family swim session. The pool advertises as heated with a whirlpool, this was far too cold to enjoy. The room was okay, the window had mould and you couldn't open it. The shower and bath suitable for a stay however, the bathroom had mould in places. The 'double' bed was two singles pushed together, meaning the middle had a very hard line running down it from each mattress end. Not comfortable at all. The mattresses are quite done, they need updating. The sheets were so slippy, I constantly slipped down into the bed and off my pillow. This exacerbated my current back problem and so we cut our stay short and went home early. The hotel was more expensive than those around, thought I was doing the right thing by booking it. Wouldn't stay again unfortunately.

Lovely hotel and very polite staff. We really enjoyed the option of using the pool, especially after a long drive. The bathroom cleanliness requires improvement.

Found some of the staff a tad ignorant there was no good morning or hello when we went down to breakfast until the last morning when it was different staff I wasn't after a big song and dance but did find a few staff rude put me off wanting to go back to this particular hotel Didn't find the bathroom gleaming either the side of the bath was grubby and the glass shelf was rather in need of a clean above the hand basin

Lovely setting overlooking castle.... however very tired room, hair in bathroom on arrival, white dog hair all over carpet. Very good staff .

Staff was friendly. Service was excellent in all areas. Room was very clean (shower was superb). I come up for the marathon every ear and always use this hotel. See you next year 😎👍

After a week long road trip around Ireland staying at various types of accommodation from b&b’s to hostels we thought we’d push the boat out on the last night and book a night at the Celtic Royal hotel it looked amazing on the internet it was the most expensive accommodation of the trip and breakfast wasn’t included which had been included at the other stays. On arrival the hotel looked impressive and had a large car park,the reception was equally impressive as was the entrance hall and staircase. Check in was ok and the receptionist was helpful and informative. We went into the the room and it all went downhill from there,the room was incredibly dated with dull yellow walls and a red patterned carpet straight out of the 1980’s as were the wall and ceiling lights which were very dull and ineffective creating a really gloomy environment . There was tea and coffee making facilities which was a bonus but for a room for four people there was only 4 milk sachets which was inadequate and frankly penny pinching,again all the previous establishments had at least 2 milks or more per person. The beds were comfortable and the bedding was adequate. Upon using the bathroom the disappointment deepened with tired decor, broken floor tiles and worst of all the towel radiator clearly hadn’t been dusted/cleaned properly in weeks (see pics) I was going to raise the issues on checkout when I expected to be asked how my stay had been however the receptionist never asked me!Hence this review.

Friendly staff. Clean well located hotel. The room was good size but the TV was too small for the room. You could hardly see it from the bed.

Great location, easy parking, helpful staff. Booked a Double 102 and a King room (116 extra £30/nt) but found the King to be quite cramped especially the bathroom. There appeared to be much more space in the double which also featured a large bed. Wireless was very poor throughout the hotel which was a problem as the signal was also bad in Caernarfon. breakfast was OK but quite basic (had I paid full separate price I would have been disappointed). Swimming pool was a good size and very pleasant. I really liked the two lounge rooms by the front door. No cask ales in the bar and apart from a couple of hardy fans, the singer managed to clear the bar out on the Thursday due to the excessive volume.

Nice hotel. Clean room, but a little dated. Frustrating room layout, no power sockets by bed for phones to charge, and bathroom fan on all the time lights were on. No way to isolate. Good gym, nice pool.

The hotel was lovely The surrounding area was a little bleak. Great location for the walks etc and scenery but there was limited choice for food etc outside the hotel

Good hotel if a bit dated. No fridge or air conditioner in room which during this spell of hot weather could have been very beneficial. When I requested a room with air con we were told they didn’t have any but were moved to a larger room on request. No issues or additional cost for the change.

Nice hotel, friendly helpful staff, excellent location with good parking. The main downside of our room is that it was too warm and you could hear the hotel fans (not sure if AirCon or extractor fans) all night, which was extremely annoying. Also, it took two requests to have our bathroom mirror light fixed, as it did not work. A shelf or cupboard in the bathroom would help with storing one’s toiletries, together with a tray in the shower for soap or shampoo.

Stayed here a few years ago and again in July 25 as a last minute decision. Gone downhill. Bed was lumpy. Carpark not well lit and hole's. Was not advised to register my vehicle which could have resulted in a fibe had i not gone for a walk.

We were very disappointed. We had a very small room with no refrigerator or air conditioning. The bathroom was also small with no shelves. All in all the atmosphere was not conducive to relaxing. The food was barely adequate. There was very little choice of fruit, for example, for breakfast and the cooked food was cold.

Very poor service - we had to wait for 55mins from ordering our meal to receiving it!

Stay was brilliant, staff were extra attentive when I needed a charger and a bottle of spring water when the bar wasn’t yet open. Staff came to find me to give me a bottle of water. This was unexpected. Very much appreciated. This is next level customer service in comparison to your average hotel. Many thanks

Was just an overnight business trip , the room is clean and tidy comfortable bed , staff at reception are fantastic very friendly

Exceptional service and attention to detail -- right through from the lovely welcoming lady on reception through to the young man in the leisure club who ensured the area stayed suoer clean and all guests comfort and enjoyment was respected.

Our stay was fantastic but the only problem was that the communication was a little poor. We were there Christmas Eve / day and Boxing Day booked 2 months prior to the trip. We knew they were booked up for Christmas dinner at lunch time so we decided to sort ourselves out but come the evening we rang down to book a table to be told they couldn’t accommodate us in the restaurant as they were extremely busy. We asked if we could have room service which they provide to be told it’s buffets only and sorry it wasn’t available. On arrival to the hotel if they had told us this we would have booked this up to confirm so we wouldn’t go with out.

1 night stay, staff on reception very helpful and pleasant, leaving early they did a breakfast box at 3.30am. Very good service.

Disappointed when we first arrived to be given a room with scaffolding outside the window which was noisy due to the wind, the lady at reception quickly obliged us with another room, so many thanks to her for a restful and enjoyable stay...

We really enjoyed our stay here. The staff were all excellent and it felt welcoming from the moment we walked in. The decor in the lobby area was lovely. We used the spa every day and it was very good. It was nice it was open late and very easy to access. We were short of towels in our room but this was sorted very quickly. The hotel is excellently located, just a short walk to the castle. The only real downside was not being able to leave our car in the hotel car park for just an extra 30 mins after checkout. This is despite the fact that there were not very many guests (so few that they took individual orders for breakfast instead of the usual buffet). I've never known a hotel not allow this. This was a minor issue and we would absolutely stay here again.

The Celtic Royal staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel itself is just a short walk to plenty of restaurants and pubs, and the castle itself. The property also had a nice pool and gym on site.

Old but surprisingly clean hotel. Great location - once you park, you don’t need the car for anything in Caernarfon.

The leisure centre is good. Really good location. The evening meal is reasonably priced. Just a good place to stay and good prices

Restaurant menu was ok for couple of nights, very busy due to several coach trips.

Overall a good standard. Decor and cleanliness excellent. Pool and spa very good. Extraction fan was rather noisy in our room. Vegan options limited and not readily available. Had to ask for each item and some took a while to arrive.

Stay was good, but the change for the breakfast was OTT. More hotels are doing £12.99 for a breakfast but the buffet was average and very over charged- disappointing.

We made full use of the swimming pool, sauna and steam room, very appreciated after a day of hiking. Homely rooms, loved the decor, reserved a room with a super king bed, mattress very comfortable, black out blinds included, we both has a very well rested sleep. Ate an evening meal in the bistro and had breakfast, great options for both and cooked as requested.

Lovely hotel, great location. Lovely decor. Quality furnishings. Deluxe room was great, but overpriced for what we had in the room. Bar and drinks were good and reasonably priced. A la carte meal wasn’t that great. Breakfast didn’t offer a decent variety considering cost. Only filter coffee on offer.
