Super 8 by Wyndham Cambridge/Kitchener/Waterloo Area

Our first room had unclean sheets, the second room was clean. Had to haul a stroller up the stairs as no elevator and was only assigned rooms on 2nd floor. Halls smelled strongly of cigarette smoke. Lots of noise in hallways. Bed was too firm (not meaning to sound like goldilocks, but it was hard as a board).

I have used this hotel all 3 times I have been in the area and I do recommend it. The Continental breakfast is really good and gives good options - fresh Belgian waffles, cereal, oatmeal, bagels, toast, hard-boiled eggs, yogurt, tea, coffee, milk, juice The staff are always friendly and very quick to problem solve if you have any concerns (our AC was leaking from it running so much and it being so hot outside) It is an older hotel but the suites have always met our expectations and are a good size, definitely book a suite if you have more than 3 people so that you have ample space. The prices are always reasonable, they do have an outdoor pool in the middle of their yard and a bar/restaurant on site downstairs.

The hotel was in a good location and their was lots of parking in a bright, well-lit parking lot right beside the hotel. The lobby was nice and inviting. The rooms however, leave much to be desired. Overall they were dingy and dated. There was mold growing on the ceiling in the bathroom. I opened the fridge and it wasn't working and smelled terrible. The patio door to the outside did not lock well and felt unsecure. There was a door to the adjoining room which I wasn't even sure if it was locked. There was a microwave cart in front of it keeping it from opening. The heater in the room was LOUD! The only benefit was it drowned out the barking dog that seemed to be in the room down the hall. The noise from the snowclearing at 2am and general traffic was also loud. I would not recommend staying here.

I received a very warm welcome. I appreciate their pet friendliness. Nice place and reasonably priced.

This hotel is not fully pet-friendly. I reserved a room with 2 Queen size beds/suits. When I went to check in, the assistance manager, told me I was not allow the 2 Queen size beds/suits because I have a dog with me! I told him that I checked to make sure that this was a pet-friendly hotel. He insisted that it was but because I had a dog, I was not allowed be in the Queen size bed/ suits. However, I was allowed to have a room with 2 full size beds for my dog and myself. The room cost less but he refused to refund any difference or tell me how much the new room was because it was through a third party (Hotels.com).

Staff and room were good. Pet friendly is a huge plus! However, need outside green area.

We just needed a comfortable and convenient place before an early flight. Good pizza and wings at restaurant

Pool was closed for the season but not listed as ‘outdoor’ on Hotel info when I booked.

Avoid. While our room itself was clean, the hallways were dirty and the windows of the doors were filthy. We didn't want to touch the doors and they had door knobs on them rather than push doors. It was really a turnoff. I have trouble with cigarette smoke, so as usual, I requested a non-smoking room. I have never encountered a hotel with the smoke in the hallways and seeping into our room. I don't know what was going on. In addition, the photos make the rooms look much better than they actually are. Our tub had big brown stains in it and their was an unfinished space by the bathroom door. I believe the building is also used to house the homeless, which wouldn't be a problem to us. The smoke and the dirty halls, windows and doors are just too much. The staff did treat us well and upgraded us to a suite because they didn't have the single room available,that I had ordered, but the building is just old and not welcoming at all. I should mention as well, that the breakfast was a real disappointment. There was no meat either of the 2 days we were there. Usually one finds some bacon or sausages. Likewise, the only eggs available were hard boiled eggs that were already peeled, so we avoided them due to food safety concerns. All in all, we do not recommend this facility.

The room was not clean, my socks weee dirty from walking on the floor. The hallways smelled of smoke, and the room also had a smell. Uncomfortable beds, rusty fixtures in the bathroom…

Room was full of cockroches

There were roaches in the hallways. There was a STRONG cigarette smell. Our neighbours had a loud, barking dog. They advertised having cribs available. Their "crib" was nothing more than a small child's mattress, and it had feces stained over it. We packed up and left, we weren't about to spend our time in a place like that

Mold on the hangars. Mold on the door. Black mold in bathroom. Room was very cold. Room was very cold. Had to wait 15 minutes to checkin. Coffee creamer curdled in the coffee. Breakfast was very basic and wasn't worth it. Was not the price they are asking per night

Absolutely disgusting- there was urine stains on the beds, public hair on the toilet seat, the floors were sticky everywhere (you had to wear your shoes at all times). Counters/tubs/chair stained. Spiders on walls, pad lock was broken and a hole at the bottom of the door. This was a sketchy building so that was a massive issue as well. Got a refund and left.

Breakfast? Its a joke. The rooms stink, its dirty, they still low smoking in part of the motel. People fighting in the hall way, pitbulls on property living with permanent residents bark all night. Beds were dirty and had something on the sheets. They dont vacuum there was what i can assume was a sucker stick on the floor in the stairs for the 2 days we were there is no maid service. The walls and railings are disgusting. Needles and burnt tin foil outside some of the room leading to the parkkng lot. Do not stay here

Did not stay long the hotel had bed bugs

Edited fake photo, nothing at all like the room. Awful smell throughout whole building, key card wasnt unlocking, stains on bed, sticky floor, gross table, walls barely even reached the flooring. Ended up getting a room somewhere else. Just terrible.

Very and best sleep I had in a while. The king size mattress was new and firm but i just fell asleep. Comfortable! The staff was very friendly, rooms very clean and comfortable. Thank you for my great stay. Ellen Craig

Staff and breakfast were great. Halls and room had a smoke odour. Many small details in room need upgrading, eg wallpaper coming off wall in bathroom under sink, chipped paint on bathroom door, main door squeaked, the extra lock was bent out of shape and the interior door jamb of room entry was dirty and needed painting. A chair for the desk would be good and the desk front was rough. Awkward to get in and out of due to centre barrier separating North and South traffic. Dog friendly...we met 5 dogs there. Not my first choice, but was ok for the 2 days we were there.

We were travelling with our pet and needed a place to stay overnight. For the price everything was ok. Our room conveniently had a patio door so we could take our dog out quickly but, the room was right across from the ice maker and food vending machine which made things noisy at all hours. My dog figured he should inform me of the intruders. After a few alerts, he understood that he didn't need to worry. But between the ice maker being quite noisy and folks coming and going to get their snack and slamming the doors, all that kept us awake most of the night. Even earplugs didn't help much. Staff were courteous and helpful, no complaints there.

Loud. Dogs barking. Doors slam. Smell of smoke. Crap tv channels. Cans of butts outside patio doors. Damaged furniture.

There was an musty odour on entry to the hotel. Rooms displayed poor maintenance.

There was no television access in the room. They said there was a problem but it wasn't fixed for 2 days.

Room needs some maintenance, broken cupboard, cracked tules etc. Was pretty clean and actually quiet even though it backed onto tims drive through.

Room was renovated nicely, no carpets thank god. Breakfast was good 6 till 10 Bed was comfortable, ample parking

Beds are pretty lumpy, soft and saggy. Very outdated and dingy. For the price not worth it. Was still $200 a night which is absolutely ridiculous.

First time in all my years of travel that I arrived somewhat earlier but was unable to check in. Littlerally had to wait to 3 PM on the dot which would have been fine if I didnt have to wait for an additional 10 - 15 minutes after I arrived at 3:20 for the employees behind the counter to decide they were finished discussing another customer who was no were to be seen to allow me to finally be able to check in.

Don’t know about all the other reviews but my experience with the property and staff was pretty good. Anushtup was over the top for his excellent service and he answered all the questions i had. The bar is fun to watch games and have some good time with local crowd overall a good experience

Power out, wi- fi down, key cards didnt work. Tv not working. This was for 3 days . Wifi and key cards didnt work even after city of Cambridge fixed power outage on first day. Front desk staff very abrupt. Gave no updates. He didnt want to be bothered . He told me he was just there to pick up a pay check. Ended up booking into another hotel for last 2 days of my stay

Management does not communicate with staff. We asked the front desk for a late checkout, which was agreed to, come the normal check out time the house cleaning entered my room while I was still sleeping. I find this unacceptable as my privacy has been violated. Secondly I asked to borrow a charger for the night and was told that I would be able to use it until check-out. Come 7:30 am someone is banging on my door asking for the charger back. It is not worth the extra saving to stay in this dingy hotel with pillows that are lumpy and hard. I find that there are certainly much better options in the surround area if you can spare the extra couple bucks. Overall definitely a terrible experience and would never stay at this location again.

The staff was very good with the check in and they where very courteous and prompt when we asked for extra pillows and towels The room.it's very clean and well ketp We are happy with room

Most of the staff, especially at the front desk, is rude and unprofessional: 1) Some would leave the front desk for a smoke outside for a long time while on the phone for obvious personal calls, and while customers were trying to check out. When I ask an East-African-looking cleaning lady where the front-desk clerk was, she nonchalantly pointed at her outside smoking. When I ask: But who is supposed to call her when a client is checking out? She made sure I saw that SHE DID NOT CARE! I could only a) angrily say that "someone is supposed to be at the front desk at all times", drop the keys on the counter; c) go outside and tell the clerk that the keys are on the counter because I checked out from room 102. The clerk NEVER stopped talking on the phone while smoking or made eye contact while dismissively saying to me "okay". 2) When other customers wanted a refund possibly for a non-valid reason or had other concerns, another clerk was ALWAYS heavy-handedly confrontational instead of adopting a soft approach. 3) The toilet in my room regularly would NOT flush until I opened the bowl cover to assist. 4) Some of the towels looked used up, old, and borderline dirty/clean.

The front desk staff was overworked but could not have been more helpfull knoledgeable. Best service ever!!!

I like everything,it´s near everything that we like to go example shopping, restaurant gas bar a Tim Horton next door.Love it.

Easy access to property from 401 but far enough away so highway noise is not an issue. Close to many shopping & dining options. Clean safe room.

Stayed here multiple times. Rooms are always clean, safe and reasonably comfortable. Staff has been welcoming and helpful. Easy location to find and quick access to Highway 401. Lots of dining options in the area and the free breakfast is more than sufficient to start the day.

Easy to get to off of the highway, shopping like grocery stores and walmart were across the road, different dining all around that were walkable, or even just order from the pub that is attached to the motel. Motel rooms could use new pillows, as mine was lumpy.

Convenient to 401, shopping and restaurants close by.

Very dirty property incl old rooms. But their dining area restaurant was amazing. 5/5. We did not expect that at all.they had halal options too for muslim

could do with a little updating of some of the furniture such as lamps and cart for microwave. Tub has some mold. We enjoyed making our own waffles and was plenty of supply and staff were helpful as well.
