Great spot, but due for some updates. Staff is great. Could be super awesome again with a bit of modernization - new TVs, easier technology, more responsive HVAC. Would be great to see a more thematic menu at the Fritz - Mexican seems odd. Bar was lively and fun.

Shuttle to ballpark & restaurant was great. TV in room not so great. You had to sign into your accounts to watch TV. I didn't know my YouTube TV sign in so i couldn't watch the Packers game that evening... I think local tv channels should be included.

I stayed at this hotel for five nights. Excellent location if you are attending an event at the Eagle/Rave. Beautiful art deco reconditioned hotel. Many famous people have stayed here over the decades. Friendly staff. Rough neighborhood so I did not walk around the area at night. I parked my car on the street and saved $20 per day. Small refrigerator in the room, however, they charge $20 per day for a microwave oven.

Gorgeous! I’ve always wanted to stay at an art deco hotel and this place nailed it. The elevator was different as you have to pull/push a door open and the elevator doors are behind it. As we were leaving an elderly person struggled to get out of the elevator with their bag and cane while holding the door open and my sister went to help. So it’s not very ADA friendly for solo travelers, other than that it truly is a beautiful hotel and the area was pretty quiet. I paid extra to park in their covered garage and it was worth it. They also offer a shuttle service but my sister and I didn’t use it. The only downside according to my sister is the breakfast wasn’t included lol

Liked the art-deco styling. But it's 2025 & the wi-fi must work in the guest rooms. Said "weak signal" but had none at all. Had to sit in the hall to use a laptop. Staff was friendly, though.

We booked at the ambassador hotel because of the shuttle service offered to and from the cubs game.. I was told when I inquired that 2 shuttles were offered to accommodate the clients. Well we waited 1 hour in the windy rain for the shuttle on the return ride home. We finally took a taxi cab. Cost me $35. Ridiculous.. do not advertise this service when you truly can’t accommodate your customers.

This is an older property that was updated a while ago. A bit clumsy as it was retrofit to some modern standards. Quaint touches to accentuate it’s history. Service was off in the Gin Rickey bar when we were there. Not sure what that was about. The rest of the staff was on their game. We skipped the shuttle for the bb game and took Lyft. Seemed like an easier option…

A good, clean hotel with nice decor, amenities, and location. It's reasonably priced. Our two queen bedroom was spacious. The room was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the bathroom was clean. They have a bar and a restaurant on-site. There's a paid parking garage and they have a free shuttle service to the downtown area and nearby restaurants and shopping spots. We had a good experience.

Good historic hotel, friendly staff. Area around the hotel slightly rough. No microwave in the rooms

They need to do something about the parking garage. One car was stolen and another was severely vandalized. I was worried about it when reading reviews and it turned out to be true. I was just lucky.

Our stay was disappointing and did not meet the expectations of a four-star hotel. When we first arrived, our room had a dirty Q-tip and used eyelashes on the floor, and the pillows smelled unpleasant. The hallways and elevators also had a strong odor. We were moved to another room that was only slightly better — the fitted sheet was inside out, the nightstand hadn’t even been wiped down, there were no pillow protectors, and the pillows themselves were stained and worn. Service was also lacking. At the bar, no one was available to help until we asked, the TVs weren’t turned on, and overall the experience felt neglected. Food was mediocre, and during our visit a staff member was coughing heavily, which made the environment uncomfortable. Additionally, when we asked for basic toiletries like toothpaste and mouthwash (items we’ve received even at budget hotels), we were told the hotel didn’t provide them and were directed to purchase them across the street. Price aside, this was simply not four-star quality. I’ve stayed at true four-star hotels in Chicago for less and had far better experiences in every category. The cleanliness, service, and attention to detail here felt more like a two- or three-star property, not the standard that was advertised.

Check in rep was very professional and helpful! Only issues were that my card was charged multiple times for deposit and parking but eventually everything got situated and refunded for the duplicate/over charges, unfortunately the refund takes 3-5 business days! Room was not clean, very dusty, smelted like pure mildew, old & dirty towels, stained carpet & couches, phones barely worked had to wiggle the cord but also very dusty, cold water in hot tub barely worked, dirty glasses in room, safe wouldn’t open, I went to have a night of relaxation but checked out early because of the uncleanliness & I didn’t want any further issues or discomfort!

We stayed and paid a significant amount of money for one night. We arriced in our room and it was dirty, floors unvaccumed, items left in mini fridge, dust on many surfaces, a/c filter was caked with dust. By couch, it smelled terrible of apple cider vinegar. Hotel was beautiful and we were very excited to be there, so this was very disheartening.

There was dirty Kleenex left in my room. The entertainment center and other furniture was pulled away from the wall. Also the ice bucket was filled with dirty water and cigarette butts.

This is a very neat hotel, but needs a lot of cleaning and some updating in the rooms. The exhaust fan above the shower was full Of dirt and dust. The bathroom is very small, floors are dirty. The lampshade in the room was filthy as well. Good notes: rooms are large With a lot of windows. The staff is so nice and friendly!

Not very clean

Toe/finger nail clippings were found across the carpet. Bathroom probably could have been cleaner, staff a little more welcoming. Went to the bar and waited 20 min to get a drink. Granted, it was after a concert and she was only one working. Not too mad about it, she tried. Even after it all, it’s a beautiful historic building, mostly cosmetic issues and room could have been a tad cleaner. Outside is a little sketchy of an area, again, secure parking available, felt safe enough inside the building. I’d try it again someday. Overall look of the room is beautiful.

Loved the designs of the room and hotel . Room could have been cleaned a little better as there was still hair in the sinks and shower.

Staff was awesome from front desk to shuttle driver. And the shuttle is a great benefit for getting to events/areas. Convenient. Rooms were dated, but beds were comfortable and quiet.

The only thing we were not happy with was the temperature in our room. It was quite warm and we could not turn the air down lower that 68.

Amazing property , hotel is great. clean and elegant with a classic and historic building . Surrounding area is a bit sketchy but not bad, Bathrooms in our room were small but with great furniture , classy and in great condition Overall great

-Switched rooms because live TV didn't work. New room had live TV but only consisted of about 10 basic cable channels. Unable to download apps on smart TV so still could not watch nationally televised sports game, and airplay was disabled. -Room outlets controlled by master switch but still did not charge phones overnight. -Shower had very poor drainage so was standing in 2in of water by end of shower.

Very comfortable beds. Spacious room for a hotel. Lots of antique architecture to check out. Quiet. Room heat was very cold air. Parking garage is about a 1 block walk outside.

The lobby of the hotel is incredible, while the rooms are outdated.

Lady running the shuttle is excellent and goes above and beyond to provide excellent customer service . A true gem.

Our stay at the Ambassador was fantastic! From our check in (Tamara is so sweet and welcoming) to our happy hour in the bar to the free shuttle to and from The Pabst-it couldn’t have been better! Our room was super clean, quiet and the bed was so comfy! We also loved the outdoor area for a drink at night! Great stay!

My overall stay was excellent, the staff especially the driving service man was super kind and professional, was clear and thorough with instructions on pick up and drop off times, and the housekeeper was super kind went above and beyond with returning items to me left in my room! Also the driver went out of his way to pick me up when it was past his time to do so. The security staff made me feel safe and did great work monitoring the place. I loved it there!

I booked a last minute hotel with them. And unfortunately due to an emergency I had to attend I was not able to make it to my stay. I contacted the team and manager they said they’d reach back to me and call to help me with a refund. Week passed and nothing. I contacted Expedia and they were able to negotiate a refund and told me that I would be receiving a refund.Overall I’m very upset there is was no proper communication with the manager. I’ve tried calling back but every time I would call back they said the manager is out of the office.

we stayed at the Ambassador hotel in Milwaukee 4.3.2025. We attended a concert across the street and upon returning to the hotel sat in your lounge area. We immediately were uncomfortable with the lack of security in the lobby and the homeless sitting next to us ( the man was playing with children’s underwear). So we decided to call it a night and head to our rooms. We entered the left elevator We hit the button for the 4th floor and the doors shut, including the massive decorative steel door. The elevator would not go up, instead dropped to between the first floor and the lower level. I immediately pressed the call button ( which did not work) I attempted it several times. I then had to call 911 off my phone with the minimal service I had in an attempt for help. We were stuck 38 minutes. At no point any of your staff checked on us, or offered support. My husband had to pry the inner elevator door open just so we could have air moving. I’m a severe asthmatic and the lack of air makes it extremely hard to breathe. The fire department after 10 minutes was able to help us out of the elevator by climbing through small openings. Once we exited the elevator we again were not helped by your staff. No one was there to offer us even a bottle of water or to apologize for any inconvenience. I’m extremely disturbed by the lack of support your hotel offered us. I understand- things happen. But to be left in an elevator for greater then 30 mintues.

The rooms and facilities are good. Service is a problem. One person on the front desk with zero authority or skills is simply not enough.

We absolutely LOVE this hotel, stay every time we come to Milwaukee for So many different reasons…this might be the first complaint ever…the bartender working late evening 8/8 was rude as heck…came in an hour bedore closing time and she made it very clear that she was focused on her closing duties and she couldn’t have been any more annoyed that we had arrived as paying customers wanting to have a nightcap…It wasn’t like we were a young, rowdy group, just a few middle aged women…I was just very surprised, service at every single aspect of this hotel has been above any beyond for as many years as I’ve been coming.

The Ambassador is a very nice hotel, and I'd definitely stay there again. The location is really convenient if you're visiting Marquette University, going to The Rave, or any downtown events. The neighborhood is a little sketchy but I felt safe in the hotel and even walking to a concert across the street at night in a group. The hotel itself is beautiful and clean. The restaurant and bar are great! Super friendly staff too!!

Room was nice; clean bathroom. Parking was an extra charge, and did not feel very protected. Local neighbors approached me when I was going to convenience store next door. I will look more carefully at the neighborhood when booking in the future.

The hotel was clean with a unique and pleasant art deco style and flair. The hotel staff was very friendly and hospitable. We did not eat at the restaurant but we did enjoy a couple of drinks at the small bar in the hotel. It was a great little spot for a drink before going out or for an Early night cap. The parking garage was convenient and clean as well. The shuttle was an exceptional service we have not found many places. It made up for not being the most convenient location in terms of walking distances to the downtown area or the Brewers ballpark. The immediate neighborhood around the hotel is lower income but we did not feel that unsafe or uncomfortable during the daylight. We did not chance it not being familiar with the neighborhood at night so we relied on the shuttle in those instances.

Perfect place to stay for easy access to American Family Field. Staff was great and very accommodating. Would stay again.

The hotel is reasonable and vintage in a cool way. My daughter goes to Marquette and we go to a lot of concerts at The Rave. The hotel is perfectly located for both places.

I like that the hotel has an elegant lobby which makes it look classic. We enjoyed the bar/restaurant. Food and drinks were excellent as well as the service in the hotel.

Nice boutique hotel. Very good bar with above average food. Breakfast/lunch spot with Starbucks coffee and outstanding breakfast. The shuttle service is a highlight of the hotel. The shuttle staff/drivers are top notch!

We ate at the hotel restaurant twice. The food and service were good. The bed was comfortable.

The restaurant was amazing and staff were outstanding. Our room was great and beds very comfy! The option to use their shuttle was so convenient and saved so much time as I was not familiar with the area. We will definitely return!

DO NOT STAY HERE! JUNE 2025 REVIEW The people who worked there were very nice. However, there was a lot that wasn’t done well and is likely a quality control issue. For starters I found a bug in my bed, yes a bug. I attached a photo but I do have a video of it moving. Secondly, the bathroom had someone else’s hair left in the shower. Third, the food was not good. I ordered room service with a Cesar salad, “truffle” fries and an aperol spritz. I asked for the Cesar with no bacon and they delivered it with bacon, I just removed it myself since it took nearly 45 minutes for delivery. I then proceed to eat my salad only to find the leaves were old and borderline moldy. The truffle fries came cold and did not have even a hint of truffle and the cheese was on only one side of the fries and not even distributed on top, the cheese had a stale texture as if it was not stored properly. The aperol spritz was delivered in a champagne glass which is not standard for the drink, likely to skimp on using the proper amount of alcohol the drink requires. The drink tasted like gasoline and was made by someone who does not know how to make one. It arrived room temperature. Why? The sparkling wine should be chilled. The drink should be served on ice. And as for the club soda…never heard of her. Forget a garnish. Whoever the kitchen manager and bar manager are needs to reevaluate the quality of both drink and food.

We Stayed here on a recent trip to Milwaukee for a Concert- check in was Quick- Room was Quiet & Clean. Nice that’s there’s parking right next to Motel. We ate Breakfast at the Fitz the next morning and it was Amazing!!

Terrible food but otherwise nice

The food in the bar was not good. The bartenders were great. Would love to have a newspaper available at the front desk. One Deco Cafe waitress was surly. Front desk staff was great. Would appreciate 2 shuttles during busy times. The drivers were great.

Staff was great! Overall very clean and friendly atmosphere. Food at the restaurant wasn't my favorite but the drinks were well made and again staff was very courteous. Room was good just wish the fridge wasn't full of mini bar items (needed room for leftovers).

This place is gorgeous. The staff is so friendly. The shuttle makes it very convenient to go places. The food & the cocktails, especially the cocktails are YUM YUM!! Highly recommend
