We really liked this property, especially the proximity to the event we were attending. The room was great. Parking was an extra fee, but it was in a covered garage with a direct walkway onto the second floor of the hotel. I really liked the setup and thought it was well worth the fee. The property itself was very nice with one of the larger hot tubs I've seen at a hotel. The pool was indoor and a nice temperature. This will be my go to in downtown SLC going forward.

Paid for parking which was $25 per night and not $13 per the website. Oversold their parking so had to pay another $25 for public parking 2 blocks away. Had a parking pass but no place to park just a lame apology. They know how many rooms there are and how many parking stalls are avaliable and how many passes have been sold so how about not selling passes once the number of parking stalls has been sold.

Hotel in good location, water in swimming pool was cold compared with other hotels I have used and sauna was often not up to heat required. Breakfast facility was good. I enjoyed my stay.

Everything here was really nice and very clean! Breakfast was amazing! The only thing that i did not like is the on site parking. It’s a first come first serve type deal. There is only about 50 on site parkings and if you come back late to your hotel, you might no find parking on the site and will have to wait or park somewhere around the block. It sucks also because they don’t list that in their description. Other than that it was a 5 star.

There is not enough parking. We were told to drive around until someone moves their car. It was 1030 pm and we needed to get a 2 year old in a bed. We spent 40 minutes driving around and were then told that we could use and pay for public parking a block away. We already paid for hotel parking. The elevator was broken all morning and walking up and down 9 flights of stairs with a 2 year old was BRUTAL!!

This hotel was very centrally located and we really enjoyed our stay. The elevator was not working so climbing 12 flights of stairs was inconvenient, but all together, we didn’t mind and it was back up and working before we checked out. Parking could use some improvements as there is very very little. The beds were comfortable, the staff was very friendly and apologetic about the elevator issue, and breakfast was very good. Will stay again.

The holiday inn express is right next to the Salt Lake convention center. It was perfect for us. We walked across the street and walked into the convention center in like 2 minutes. The rooms are spacious, and our grandson loved the pool. The pool area also had a huge hot tub and sauna.

Everything was ok but the inside duviet was dirty and the stain was hard so hadn’t been washed.. foundation on pillow case. Found in the morning or I would have had them change it all first

It was a difficult time trying to find parking but it was because of the construction that was nearby at the time. The staff was friendly and patient despite the amount of customers they were helping. Our room did have a smell to it as if someone had vomited. We had to bear through it since we were staying there for one night. Despite all this, i would book again in the future.

Checked into the room, on the shower wall, about eye level was a large clump of long black hair. They came and cleaned, but not a great first impression. I think the walls are made of paper, could hear neighbors, hallway, people above. Parking at night is tough, and not the best neighborhood. Would find another place.

I booked 2 rooms at least 3 months ago and requested away from elevator, high floors and close to each other. You’d think with much notice I could get that but no, first room from elevator and 2 floors apart…heard people’s private conversations up to midnight and again at 330am! Loved the guy at front desk, loved the Dove toiletries, shower was great but bed was so hard we woke up hurting! I have reservations for 1 week from now but am seriously thinking about cancelling them and going somewhere else.

Great location! Everything was pretty clean, but the pool could use a deep clean. I upgraded to a “city view” room. There wasn’t much or a room. You also don’t have access to any of the balconies in the rooms. Our room was located right across from the elevator- it was SUPER noisy.

Pros: Good central location in DTSLC. The room was spacious, clean, and had all the amenities you'd expect. Free breakfast was good. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Cons: Dated A/C system that was very loud and would start and stop abruptly throughout the night. Sometimes I woke up because of the abrupt change in noise. The vent in the bathroom was very noisy too. On Friday and Saturday night, the street level noise from the clubs and bars in the area was so loud that you can hear/feel it all the way on the 10th floor. If you're a light sleeper like me, bring earplugs! There were no blackout curtains and the curtains were see-through so when the sun's up, a lot of light is gonna get into your room. Because of these things, I did not sleep all that well during my stay.

Check-in was super easy, my room was clean, Big, everything was provided, the bed was comfortable. There was a yummy food place attached. Parking parking was easy however it is $25 a night to park there on top of what you already paid for the room.

The room was extremely outdated. The ceiling tiles were stained and dirty. The hvac in bathroom was so loud it kept us up even with door closed. The window shade was full of holes and tears. The rooms are nothing like photos online.

Overall it wasn’t bad. There was a lot of loud banging in the middle of the night. They also charge your card twice. They hold the entire amount for the stay plus $95 and then charge it again when you leave. They said the hold will drop off the account but my $210 stay ended up holding almost $600 out of my account. Very frustrating and I’ve never had a hotel do this. They usually have an incidental fee that they hold and then charge you the full amount at check out. It was very inconvenient and I probably won’t book here again.

Biggest and only complaint was house keeping walked into our room while we were sleeping at 8am. Luckily the deadbolt was on. Then an hour later knocked to see if we were still there. Checkout was not until 12! I didn't understand why they would be knocking for anyone night reservation.

Loved everything but grave yard security staff was rude to us entering the property during after hours. We was not loud when entering, security was rudely criticize us for not letting them know we was leaving property. We did not know it was a requirement to let staff know.

Checking in took about 15 minutes as I was waiting behind just one other customer and there was only one employee working the front desk. He did not even apologize for the long wait. Otherwise no concerns.

My checkin took about 30 minutes due to the front desk clerk not knowing how to check someone in. Instead of the lady that was there with her helping and getting me checked in to the 3 rooms, she continued to help others while my family sat outside waiting for our parking.

We stayed here for a volleyball tournament and it was in walking distance of Convention Center. Lots of food on all sides 100ft in all directions. Refrigerator and was clean and quiet!

First, the staff were great and the property, on the inside was nice. However, the number of homeless around the hotel, both day and night, made it feel unsafe. I worried all night long about my car in the parking garage. In many ways it felt like back in San Francisco. The room was nice and clean, bed comfy, and had a decent view of the city center. Breakfast in the morning was also set in a nicer large restaurant setting with lots of options. It’s free, so don’t expect suburb quality. The food will tide you over until lunch. Restaurants abound, but walking to one less than a block away had me approached twice by homeless asking for money. I also saw a lady strung out on a bench, two homeless men fighting, and a homeless man yelling at traffic in the middle of the road. Oh how Salt Lake City has declined.

I loved my stay at the Holiday in Express! The location is excellent for walking to many of the downtown sites and events. They offer free breakfast, and the variety is amazing! A nice bonus is the pool and hot tub. Great to take a relaxing dip before bed. The desk and room service were excellent. I highly recommend a stay at this well-appointed hotel.

Everything about this hotel was a good experience for us. Breakfast was delicious. Housekeeping service was done on a daily basis, which is becoming more and more rare in 2025. The only negative thing is the parking was $25 each day and the lot does fill up quickly.

Food variety was good but the food was lukewarm at best! Bed comforter and shower curtain liner were torn. Check out was 12 Noon, yet Housekeeping was banging at the door at 8AM wanting access to clean and turnover the room.
