Embassy Suites Syracuse

The hotel, itself, is very nice and clear. The room was spacious, and it was great they offered free parking and a free breakfast, which is rare these days. I also really appreciated the offer of a free drink at the bar. It was a very comfy room/bed and the noise from outside the room was minimal.

At check in- there were approx 50 students just hanging at the desk. It took me a while to check in because of this. The staff should have recognized and done something. You can only use the pool in one hour increments. And had to sign a waiver and get a special key. Which was not communicated up front when checking in and asked if we needed to do anything special for the pool.

Great rooms. Managers special snack and free drink each night. Pool was clean and perfect. Lots close by to eat.

I was disappointed with the pool policy and hours of operation 9pm to 9pm. Only reason I booked here was for the pool and it was cold and dirty. Wish I call call management and get a reimbursement. Never will we stay here again!

Pillows were not great and the AC did not work well in our room. It was a bit sticky hot in the rom and made it hard to sleep with the addition on the flat pillows. Room was clean and had updated amenities. We tried the pool but didn’t make it more than 5 min as it was freezing cold water.

Breakfast was great but you have reserve a pool time. We wanted to swimming and the desk said no spots available right now and no one was in t He pool

We checked in over a busy weekend. The line at check in was long and rooms were not ready at 3pm. But it was the weekend of the eclipse. Our two rooms were ready by 5pm. We had one room at 3:30 and had a pool time for 4pm so it all worked out. Yes, this property requires your party to reserve a one hour pool time. That’s not always convenient. But it does keep the numbers down at the pool. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Breakfast is just okay. There are options. Cereal, pastries, and hot foods. But I’ve had much better at lesser hotels. This hotel is a nice pick because of the suite style rooms. If you don’t need the extra space and prefer better breakfast, this might not be the best choice.

The property was excellent. Sadly the pool was closed down for understandable safety issue. A notice of this would have been appreciate. The staff was friendly and helpful but seemed overwhelmed and short staffed. Would definitely come again. Overall, highly recommend

Great family hotel kids loved the pool

The lobby, restaurant, and areas visible to guests were clean, comfortable, and appeared well-kept. Unfortunately, our room told a very different story. The bathroom had a leaking toilet tank, with the garbage can placed under it to catch the dripping water. The shampoo and body wash dispensers that should have been attached to the wall were missing, leaving visible gunk where they used to be. There was dust and dirt in the bathroom crevices, buildup around the wet bar sink, and even white stains on the decorative pillows on the couch. The extra bedding provided for the pullout couch didn’t smell fresh and was missing pieces. The beds and pillows were uncomfortable, which made for a poor night’s sleep. We also went down for breakfast before closing time. There were still many guests eating, and while the back-of-house staff were friendly and cheerful, the front-of-house staff were the opposite. Rude and impatient. We were told multiple times to hurry up because breakfast was almost over, and we watched them rush other guests as well. At one point, a staff member even told a guest it wasn’t her fault the guest had “slept in.” It was very clear they just wanted to wrap up and leave, which left a bad impression. Overall, while the common areas gave a good first impression, the condition and cleanliness of the actual room, combined with the unpleasant breakfast experience, made the stay disappointing and not one we’d recommend.

They clearly do not clean the rooms well during guest changes as my room had left over food, debris and small trash in multiple locations. Also, they do not clean the room in between stays even when you make a request. “They just change the linens”. Not recommended and such a disappointment!

Wow! The rooms are filthy. The lobby and check in area is super clean lulling you into a false sense of security. The rooms are filthy and not just in it was not cleaned so well before your check-in but in a way where it has been missed for the past 5 years. Cleaning must consist of just grabbing garbage bags and remaking the bed because there is no wiping down of surfaces, no vacuuming, no sweeping or mopping. The food, dead bugs, mold and grime on the carpet and tiles is terrifying and the ceiling water damage and suspicious smells give you the heebie jeebies. If you have stayed in an embassy suites in say Glendale CA or San Diego CA you would think you’d be getting the same level of service and standards, you’d be severely wrong. Thr property and cleanliness of guest rooms is atrocious but the front desk reps and breakfast buffet staff were amazing. I feel bad having to lump them in with this honest review of the rooms. I wish I could upload pictures to warn everyone away!

This place was so dirty! I expected much more from the Hilton brand, especially at this price point. The atrium style is nice but just gives you a bird's-eye view of all the dust and dirt on top of everything down below. In our room the carpet was full of stains, the walls had splash marks from what I hope was just coffee. The throw pillows on the couch and the curtains had stains on them. Even the tv remote had gunk smeared all over it. The bathroom was easily the dirtiest hotel bathroom I've ever had. The shower floor was so caked in dirt, it really grossed me out and to top it all off the dirty toilet didn't even flush properly. We tried to do the free buffet breakfast but had so much difficulty finding a clean plate that we kind of lost confidence the food would be safe to eat so we went out for breakfast instead. As for the positives, we chose this place for the location which was convenient for us. It had plenty of free parking and our room faced the opposite side from the highway so it was very quiet. So in theory we could've had a good night's sleep if we weren't so grossed out by the room!

Our last stay at the hotel was not as clean as the previous stay. There was a used sanitary napkin left in the bathroom and the breakfast area was not cleaned between uses. We had to clean it ourselves before we could eat. We were also staying on the 5th floor but we could smell the omelets by 5:30am in our rooms. Hopefully steps can be taken to keep the smells out of the rooms especially if they are as strong as they are to wake people up.

The hotel us very clean. The employees are very friendly and professional. The room was very clean and relaxing. I will recommend this hotel to all.

The room and bathroom were filthy. Management was not responsive. Do yourself a favor and choose another hotel in this desolate section of East Syracruse.

Comforter on the bed had brown stains on it. Long black hairs on floor in bathroom and in sink right when I arrived. Rooms are large and updated but it definitely wasn’t clean. It was also really noisy as the rooms are all in a giant square with the doors facing the lounge and restaurant/bar area on the first floor- so it was echoing the loud drunk people in the lounge late into the night. Breakfast was good and enjoyed the omelette made in front of you. The staff was friendly. I don’t think I would stay again though because of the lack of cleanliness of the room.

There was hair and pubic hair on the bathroom floor when we arrived. That is not acceptable.

Staff were exceptional and friendly. Breakfast was nice. Beyond that Very Disappointed. We often choose Embassy Suites or other Hilton properties due to their reputation and previous experiences. This hotel is definitely not up to that standard. Layout was nice and you could see it was nice once. Current state it is run down, not well maintained and not clean. Our room had dirty floors, food on the couch and lots of stained cushions. The sofa bed was probably the worst I've seen in terms of the mattress. Table and counter tops were dirty. Lots of disrepair in the bathroom and with the windows. Even the cute spaces in the common areas were very dirty and stained. Proximity to the highway was nice but it was very loud on that side.

Last time was great. This time no wifi and low water pressure.

The hotel is located right beside a very busy highway. We had a room facing this highway and it was extremely loud the whole night because the windows are not double-glassed. So be aware and ask for a room NOT FACING to the highway when you are booking.

The rooms are dark and noisy if you are on the thruway side. The outside patio was also loud and unpleasant. Our toilet got clogged and the soap dispenser fell off the shower wall while I was showering. The breakfast was very nice though.

We got 2 rooms, 517 and 518. Room 518 thermostat was broken, didn't even turn on. Room 517, door was unable to be opened. They switched us to room 519, and that only blew the hottest heat no matter if you turned on AC on the coldest, it was like a sauana and window was damaged so you couldn't even crack it open for fresh air or to help cool down. Fridge didn't keep drinks cold either. I wanted to change rooms again, but it was a large line and 1 guy working. 400 dollars I wish I could get back :(

The breakfast selection was great I appreciated the omelet station. The room was perfect, actually larger than I anticipated. I did check-in via the app and that was seamless, I did wish there was a simpler way to share the room key if someone didn't have the app, other than that miniscule detail, everything was great!

Pros: -We loved the huge lobby. It was beautifully designed. Whoever designed it is genius. -The breakfast was nice. We liked made to order veggie omelets. -The pool was nice. We had to make a reservation once we arrived there, but we could get the time we wanted. -Welcome drink and snacks were nice. -The kitchen manager handled it very well when there was a commotion during the breakfast time. -The front desk people were friendly. - The room was pretty big. Cons: -The most horrible sofa bed we have ever seen. It was impossible to sleep there. Felt every single spring wire. It made our stay so difficult. -The kind size bed was smaller the normal king size we usually see. -Staffs at the bar restaurant weren’t friendly. - No bath tub in the room.

This is an older Embassy Suites. The drapes were broken, did not close completely. The HVAC was loud. I won't stay at this particular Embassy Suites, again.

For a relatively new Embassy Suites property, these are the worst designed rooms we have stayed in. First, the lighting is very poor in all rooms, especially the bathroom and coffee bar area. Only one light in the bathroom and no lights in the coffee area. The living room is large, but the bathroom is so small you can barely turn around. The designer should have made the bathroom larger and living room smaller. Sheets on the bed were too small and kept coming off and the pillows were very uncomfortable. All in all, a very uncomfortable stay due to poor design and decor.

Ask to stay on the side of the hotel that does not face the thruway if you want quiet. The staff put us in a room near the elevator and on the thruway side despite low occupancy. Very odd.

Excellent stay. I had been there years ago and clearly the renovations that they have done have brought it up several notches. Absolutely perfect experience. We had a late arrival and they were very accommodating. Sunday breakfast was excellent! Something for everyone.

Really enjoyed my stay here! Bed and pillows were comfortable and clean. Staff was super friendly and welcoming. Would definitely stay again.

The hotel is nice, very spacious and with comfortable beds. The breakfast had lot of options. However the only complain I have is that the room was not tidied during our stay and we had to ask for extra towels. The hotel was full due to Syracuse University graduation weekend.

If it weren't for the unacceptable service we received from Tati at the front desk I would have rated this at least 4 stars. We really enjoyed most of our stay, however what happened on our check out was unacceptable to say the least. We booked our stay through Expedia, and upon check out we noticed the hotel charged us for our stay as well. We were told that it was an error due to new staff and that they were training and that we would be reimbursed during the week (this was a Sunday departure). Although not ideal to not have the charges reversed right then and there and having to follow up with management the next day, we understood it had to be dealt with by those not working that day. As we are from Canada, we asked for a print out so we could have proof of our stay in case we needed it at the border. Well Tati started getting very rude and telling us she was unable to do so. When we tried to explain why we needed this, in any form, she interrupted us, would not hear us out and starting yelling at us. She called us narcissitic and threatened to call the cops. Our 3 kids were with us, and as this was highly inappropriate I took them out to the car while my husband stayed to try and talk with her. There is a camera over the front desk as well so it can be reviewed as to how her behaviour was completely uncalled for. When I went back to check on what was taking so long, I could not believe there was a police car out front! What a waste of police resources and their time!

The property is quiet and clean, the manager, Steve Y is kind and available to care for our every need, I was there in June and returned in August for family activities and we just love the Suites for how thy care for the property there and us. I also like to fact that the manager, Steve Y keep us informed and answers questions about the changes that we noticed and asked about. Well done Embassy Suites.

Front desk was 5 stars… the female bartender at happy hour was the weak link in the chain… she ruined our stay. A shame… we wanted to dine inside to avoid the driving in the cold but could not deal with her so we took a drive and our business somewhere else… front desk was made aware and they were gracious.

This is a pretty nice Embassy suites, and the people in the hotel were nice. It is a bit of a struggle finding the place, but it is quiet and (gratefully) quite a ways away from downtown Syracuse, which is, well, wanting. Nice place to stay!

Easy and quick access to the highway, property is always kept clean and organized.

Said it was 10 min from the Syracuse campus, but wasn’t really anywhere near it. Right on the highway.

This v property is right along a busy highway. Really sketchy area as well. I DON’T RECOMMEND.

Hotel was very nice staff was excellent and polite. Breakfast was actually very good especially comparing it to other hotels. Really liked the jalapeño bacon omelet.

Front desk was very nice. Room was nice but there was still some trash from the previous guests. Happy hour was a joke. Any decent draft beer or alcohol was an upcharge and there is no restaurant, only bar food and it was way overpriced for the quality. They put out some appetizers but there were no plates, they told me they were out of plates, you're a hotel, how do you run out of plates? Breakfast, on the other hand, was excellent. Buffet was plentiful and the guys did a great job with your personal omelet.

The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was due to the fact that breakfast items were cold (eggs, hash browns, French toast sticks). There was large variety of options for breakfast and it was nice to have the omelette station for hot option. We enjoyed the social hour with snacks and beverages however there were times it was difficult to get service at the bar.

We stayed 2 nights at the property in a King suite. Room is very large with micro, seperate sitting area, thr hotel provided frew drinks each for the two nights, free breakfasts for 2 days....the breakfast was great, not the usual continental, we're talking hot fresh made omelets etc. The staff at feont desk and bar are auper friendly and inviting. 5/5 stars....would easily stay here again, and price wise stayed for at or below some.e lesser hotels...win!

Very clean with the exception of breakfast, that was very chaotic and the area was messy.

Friendly and prompt service, comfortable beds, and really nice variety of options for breakfast are why I always choose Embassy Suites.

Breakfast is nice with made-to-order omelettes. Staff was friendly but too eager to close up a few minutes early. Yogurt was expired too.

Very easy check-in & -out. Reception staff very friendly & helpful. Dinner options just OK. Breakfast staff seemed a bit overwhelmed with the volume of clients - no cutlery available for 10-15 minutes. Room was lovely, clean with very comfortable bed & pillows.
