no elevator in the build. room could have been cleaned much better.

Had a great room, great parking to plug my truck in. Staff were very friendly and efficient. Will stay there again and again

Price was good for the Hotel. They could use a facelift on the outside of building.

Check-in was good, room was good, comfortable and clean. Inside has been renovated but the outside looks awful. To the point that I almost called to cancel my reservation and find a different hotel. But alas, checked in and all was fine.

Affordable and comfortable. Convenient location and clean. Friendly helpful staff. Rooms have apartment sized fridges and you have access to a full kitchen and laundry. I would stay there again for sure.

I did like that the room had a larger fridge than most and the idea of the community kitchen was cool. Free laundry room to use, the TV program selection was awesome too. Netflix was nice to have access to. I didn’t like the lack of an elevator even though it was only 2 floors, but I have a large plastic tote I usually just throw on a card and bring up to my room, wasn’t possible at this location as I was on the second floor. My room was nice, bed was comfy, shower is dated though. You can tell that the owner is really trying to update the site and they are doing pretty good at it. But my room was over the main entrance and all I could hear was the main door slamming shut all the time. Plus my room still smelled of stale smoke. For the price, it was as expected. The staff was super friendly though. The parking lot is a bit of a mess though too. They need better painted lines to give you proper space to park and ask all the clients with noisy rig rockets to park further away.

Was in town for work for week. Everything was close by, either driving or walking. There was a kitchen in hotel for guest to use to cook/prepare meals which was great. Hotel has been updated and very clean. Bev (hope this is correct) the hotel manager is the best, she can’t do enough for you and just absolutely friendly and welcoming. She really added to the experience, she cares about her guest and their experience.

Rooms are recently renovated. Clean and spacious. There’s a community kitchen available to make meals in if you’re staying for work as well as breakfast in the mornings !

Spotless. Huge room. Towels and beddings are clean and smells good. Staff are nice and accommodating. It was a great stay! We'll definitely stay here again.

Staff was kind and very helpful. Continental breakfast was not good. Toaster didn’t work, quarter inch jam in a 4 inch tall jar, margarine a little bit of oil at the bottom of the container, fruit was at least a week old. Beds were old but fairly clean, carpet was filthy. Other than that we slept ok.

Close to restaurants and shopping. Tub was dirty and TV didn't work. The front-desk lady was apologetic and was able to switch my room.

Room was clean, beds were great, and the TV was very nice. Rooms had been recently upgraded. Only stayed one night but would stay again.

Bath room and bedding used and not cleaned up between customers

Checked into our room and instantly hit with the smell of cigarettes and pee even though we had booked a non pet and non smoking room. Toilet was dirty and spots of blood on the sheets. Instantly checked out and went to another hotel. Pay the extra money for a nicer hotel if you can. Contacted Expedia with photo evidence and they refunded us our money. Front desk lady was nice albeit new on the job and locked us and herself outside for 10 minutes at 11:30 at night.

Staff is super friendly and room wasn't too bad. The worse part was having no wifi for three days. I confronted three staff members and was told they're looking into it. I paid for a room with certain amenities, including wifi. They hotel should be offering a discount or something for the inconvenience. So many people need internet nowadays to do their work. They need to do better and upgrade their internet.

Room air conditioning not working well. Load noise from the unit required ear plugs ro sleep.

The room was clean and nice, but the air conditioner was very noisy and I couldn’t sleep.

Baseboard heaters were coming apart and looked ugly. wasn't plugged in. not sure if it even worked. There was so much noise from outside and inside. Large gaps under door and on side of door so you could hear everything. Zero soundproofing. Bed was pretty firm and not too comfortable. TV was really nice though. But yeah you could hear everyone using their microwave and showering and everything else.

Nicely renovated room at a very good price. I booked it for work and it was a very adequate room for a single or a couple. Apartment size fridge, Keurig coffee maker and microwave in room. Nice large TV to watch. Continental breakfast servers in the morning as well as fresh coffee. Staff was very nice and accommodating.

The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The check in process was quick and easy. Breakfast was unexpected and great.

I have been traveling to Grande Prairie for business for many years, and this is my first time staying at the Anavada Inn and Suites, formerly the Igloo Inn. I noticed it on Expedia. The price was excellent, and the pictures of the property and rooms looked good. My impressions were as follows: The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. It is clearly an older property, but it's also evident that the new owners are investing quite a bit into the hotel to modernize it. The doors/locks are modern, the hallways (carpeting, lighting) have been refreshed, and the TVs in the rooms are much larger than expected for this price point. The rooms are of a tidy size, about on par with a Motel 6. Everything is clean and the bed was comfortable. All of the rooms are non-smoking, which is a plus. That said, my room had clearly been a smoking room back in the day. It's hard to completely rid a room of decades of smoke quickly. Only time will do that. It didn't bother me, but it's something to note if you are particularly sensitive. (I'm sure they'd swap rooms for you if it was a problem.) I would definitely recommend Avanada. It's great value for the money, everything is clean, and the owners clearly care about their property. It's also situated next to a Tim Horton's, a McDonald's, and is across the street from Prairie Mall / Superstore - a bonus for convenience.

Staff were very polite, cordial and attentive to business. Overall, my stay was very nice and inexpensive. The International breakfast was a nice wake up first thing in the morning. I will definately stay at this hotel again. I found nothing to complain about at this hotel.

The receptionists in the night by the time we arrived was very rude. Not in the mood to work or not having the attitude towards a client. Very uncomfortable situation occured.

Nobody was at the front when I arrived to check in. Waited for too long.. wasn’t happy. Shared kitchen area was a disaster. Was told breakfast at 6am it was not at 6am. You get what you pay for I guess

The property is very convenient to McDonald's and Tim Horton's, but I was VERY UPSET that the room that I paid for and had selected WAS NOT the room that I was given!!! I booked a Deluxe Suite with a King Size bed and got a NON Suite with two Queen Sized beds!!!

Very nice hotel, clean and quiet. Right next door to Tim hortons and Mcdonalds which was nice and across the street from the Mall.

The hotel is clean, large TV, newer furniture. The area that the hotel is located seems a bit sketchy. Did not entirely feel safe leaving car parked outside. Just something to be aware of if you are booking here. Otherwise the hotel is decently renovated, and good enough for the price.

Location is accesssible to other amenities.

The area is close to amenities but there were homeless people sleeping on the boulevard in front of the property. Not under the property’s control but some travellers may not be comfortable with that.

Great place close to downtown with so many various amenities close by. Affordable price for few nights in Grande Prairie.

The TV was big! Fridge was bigger than other hotel fridges. Room was clean. Breakfast was basic, nothing special. No pool. Would stay again just for a night.

This is an older property but the inside is freshly painted with new carpet and everything was clean. We booked a single queen room that was small but fine for our stay. Check in and out was fine, we had an issue with the TV (big screen, was great) and the front desk staff were helpful to resolve. The breakfast is very basic but meet our needs.

Nice place very quiet not very busy, small basic all carb breakfast.

No plugs for the bathtub, i have little kids so wanted to put them in the bath. Would not bring up extra towels. Breakfast is very limited. Basically toast and cereal.

Although the exterior has a run down look - our room was clean, spacious, the bed and pillows were very comfortable. Really liked the little fridge with its own freezer space!! The breakfast could have used some yogurt and boiled eggs to supplement some protein. Will be back again!
