We enjoy Hampton Inns, however this one was under construction and really torn up. I think the contractor(s) for the work could have done a much better job for the business without tearing up So much at one time. It took a bit away from our stay.

Overall it was an ok hotel for a weekend stay. We were traveling with family and booked multiple rooms at the same time. They did not put us near each other in the hotel. Room was not really dirty but definitely was aged and could have used a deep clean. TV channels didn’t work some of the stay. Breakfast was low end of average for a free hotel breakfast. Pool was freezing. Elevator was overdue for inspection and shuttered when you were using it. The staff was friendly for the most part and overall most of these things could be overlooked for the few days we booked as we didn’t spend tons of time in the hotel anyway.

Great stay. Easy parking, safe and quiet location. Clean updated rooms. You know when you see wall sockets with USB ports it s up to date. Awesome breakfast included. Cable TV, fridge, microwave, and in room coffee maker. Pool and Jacuzzi, well worth the price.

Floors were not clean and had long black hairs in the shower. The floors needed to be mopped and vacuumed. Was kinda gross! Room was quiet and air conditioner worked well though and breakfast was good.

I have been staying at this hotel since it first opened and have stayed many times. What concerned me most was the cleanliness of the main areas such as the elevator, the steps, hallways, and piles of dirty linens left untouched in the hallways. The rooms themselves were clean but were only serviced every other day and I believe it was because of management issues and staff not able to keep up. Overall pleasant stay. I'll rebook in the future, but this was not the high Hampton Inn standards that I have known staying here and others throughout the country. I gave a low rating for environment because I would like to see electrical car chargers available. No other branded hotel in Dubuque, Iowa has one and would be most beneficial to guests and the Hampton Inn.

The hallways were absolutely filthy. Littered with paper and other debris rocks dirt. I understand they were going through remodeling, but there’s no excuse for that not at the rate I paid. And the rooms had marks all over the walls and our room reeked of cigarette smoke.

1.The mini fridge had an old, dried spill of something that hadn't been cleaned. I had to clean the mini fridge before I used it. 2. The shower and bathroom were so dirty that my wife was very upset. I had to clean them before she felt comfortable enough to use the bathroom. There was long, black hair dried onto the shower walls.There was medium length blonde hair and a barrette with blonde hair on the floor under the sink. There was black and blonde pubic hair on the floor by the toilet.

The bathroom needed some attending too. The floor definitely needed swept. There was hair in the shower and on the drain. The conditioner was out in the shower. The rest of the hotel room was clean.

After checking in and getting to our room, the fragrance that was sprayed in the room was over powering as if they were deliberately trying to cover up some sort of nasty odor - the fragrance was offensive, it was just way too strong. The temperature in the mini fridge was not adjustable. The entire hotel was out of kleenex - housekeeping couldn't find any on their cart & when going to the front desk we were told we were being given the last box! The breakfast area was a pig pen the entire weekend. On Sunday morning while still serving breakfast, they ran out of coffee & couldn't keep up with demand. They also ran out of oatmeal. Our room had no laundry bag or do not disturb sign. We found a coffee cup on the floor right by the bed when entering the room which means a very poor job of vacuuming because they missed the cup. There were kids running around all weekend making a lot of noise but the staff seemingly did nothing to keep them quiet. We also thought the room was way over priced considering there weren't any large events going on in Dubuque that weekend that we were aware of. At least the staff was helpful & friendly and always available at the front desk.

Upon check in I was greeted pleasantly and politely by front desk. Check-in was quick and easy. I was also asked my preference for floor I would like to stay on and was accommodated. Lobby was very clean and modern. Hallway was quiet and clean. Room and bathroom were also very clean and bed was comfortable. Will stay again when I return to visit!!

Staff was friendly and great. Bed felt like the floor may have been more comfortable. Bed extremely hard, only 4 pillows on a king with no extras stored in closet etc. Refrigerator was not working, pop was warm by morning. Breakfast was mediocre, barely lukewarm. Eggs watery and sausage patties over nuked so were dry and tasted like eating cardboard.

The people that designed or remodeled this hotel thought of many little things that other hotels did or do not. An automatic built in night light in the bathroom - genius. A coat rack on the wall - genius. The lamps with built in USB charger - brilliant. The multi position shower head - often installed but useless but not here - Awesome. The decor was modern yet comforting. The welcome on the TV screen was fantastic. The ability to log into MY streaming services was great, (you just need YouTube TV and not just YouTube). The mattresses were middle of the road. Not too firm and not too plush. Pillows are always a guest preference and we brought our own. Will be staying here again in December. See you then!

They need more staff. For the price you shouldn't need to have to ask for more towels, or request housekeeping. They only had 1 person working breakfast on a Sunday when everyone is checking out of the place. The help was doing their best to keep up. Either lower the price or hire more help.

The young man who checked me in was hilarious.....we chatted and joked as he asked me What are you doing in Dubuque all the way from Louisiana? We swapped cold weather stories and he made me laugh. Great guy, promote him

I was not happy when I first got there. They changed our room without asking a day before we checked in with out notifying us first. I walked into two queens instead of a king bed! When I went down and complained about the change of room they said there was nothing they could do because they overbooked on king rooms. The manager would not be in till the next morning. So she told me that there were no rooms left to change it too. I talked to the manager the next morning and she said she would give me reward points but will take up two 2 days to see it. I asked how many points she said she was not sure. I asked how does the points work she was not sure!!!! She told me since Expedia was a third party that we were low priority compared to the other guests even though I’m a rewards member! She also told me that they couldn’t get a hold of me but I told since I’m a rewards member that they had my number to call me. Then she back peddled and then said they dropped the ball.So if you go through Expedia your reservation doesn’t mean anything!!!! I’m not very happy, at least call me and tell me that you’re changing my room and it should not matter if I used a third party booking either! It’s not Expedia fault. It’s the hotel fault.

Housekeeping service was terrible. You have to ask for it and they did not do what you asked. One day I got new towels (which I did not ask for) and they did not make the bed (which I did ask for). After 5 nights I ask for clean sheets. I came back to an unmade bed and was handed sheets and told to do it myself. Completely unexceptable.

We had to go down to front desk 3 times due to issues with our room, there was no kleenex at all (empty box in the holder) only 1 roll of toilet paper and one of the beds had no top sheet at all. Lobby is also under renovations and was a bit of a mess as was the dining area - which I get renovations are needed but just did not seem very orderly. And don't like that hotel staff could not do anything to adjust my roommate due to all the issues, was told a manager would call me that may have more power but no manager called at all. And another family member that was with us in a different room had no working heat and needed to have their room changed at 11:30 pm.....just not great service there at all!

The room was clean and quiet, but small. The bathroom was updated and well lit, but no fan for moisture. Sitting chair was not comfortable for viewing tv or reading. Pillows were to soft. It was out of the way for most activities in the downtown area. Breakfast was 👍.

The hotel was located right in the middle of a shopping area, not a whole lot of parking. It's convenient for walking to get things nearby though. There were several restaurants, shops, and a Target nearby. The interior appears to have been newly redone. The room was nice, with a comfortable bed and large new TV with several options for streaming as well as live TV. The bathroom had soap/shampoo/conditioner in bottles attached to the wall, instead of individual disposable bottles. We didn't eat breakfast here, so can't comment on that.

We weren’t sure where we were going to stop for the night and decided to stop ar the Hampton. The google maps directions were a bit confusing bit other than that, we had a great stay. HyVee grocery store conveniently across the parking lot for late night snacks.

We generally stay here for swim meets. The price has increased pretty drastically but the quality of the property is always great. I like that it's a quick drive to the aquatic center and that there is a shopping area that is walkable.

The dining experience was lacking. Food stuffs were low and semi-warm, not enough holding containers. The room was good for service. Also, this hotel has since charged us a room stay on Aug 23, even though we paid Expedia up front. Can your staff contact them about this?

Starves good as usual. We were expecting free breakfast as we have in past. We were there for three days. Food ran out early on and not refilled for an hour. The next two mornings there was NO BREAKFAST at all. Very disappointed. That’s never happened before and we’ve stayed there atleast 5 times. All lights in breakfast room were turned off.
