Ocean Sky Hotel & Resort

Great stay at this hotel. Right on the beach which is perfect! The room was clean and comfortable. Beautiful view of the ocean. The hotel restaurant was just OK. The beach was clean. The only downside is that you have to rent loungers and umbrella for additional fee. In my opinion this should be provided from the resort. Towels are free with card. Overall, good stay and would come again.

Planned a last minute beach getaway and found this hotel only 30 minutes away from the airport. We arrived at 11 am and were still able to check in to our 4 hours early thanks to the amazing receptionist. Room was clean and the beach was very accessible. The hotel also has a fitness center, pool, hot tub, and jet ski rental. My one small complaint is the small restaurant that is located inside the hotel. Food is a bit overpriced for what you get. And when we asked the staff for plastic utensils or condiments they told us to go ask house keeping. This does NOT takeaway from the rest of the hotel. We definitely recommend going here and will be back in the future.

They charge for parking daily $25 + Tax. Although they have so many open parking spaces. Other wise every thing is good.

Pool and beach access were great! Fitness center solid. Hotel restaurant was overpriced and mediocre but it was an easy beach walk to get to other restaurants without a car. Very loud construction next door. All the time. Couldn’t use balcony. And some use of power tools inside the hotel itself way too early.

My 3 rd time at ocean sky . Always enjoyable. The beach elevator is broken and tiki bar isn’t as fun and vibrant as it used to be but overall an enjoyable stay.

Check in was quick and easy. Valet service guys are fantastic! Did not like the fact that you had to pay $20 a day for parking, but so be it. Construction on the structure next door was extremely annoying but not the hotels fault. The Pool and area was clean and well kept. Easy beach access. The tiki bar is just okay. Not much fun or upbeat vibe going on...seen people heading over to the other tiki bar next door. Better vibes there. We paid to have breakfast included and the staff was superb. Food is good and the wait staff was nice and accommodating. The rooms were okay, clean, and all, but our view was not nice...pretty much the roof with the air conditioner system and such. Location is good and I suggest using the Circuit to get around town, or something similar. Circuit picked us up right at the hotel entrance. All in all, it was a nice stay.

Entire staff were fantastic!! The pool, hot tub, restaurant and beach are all there and very clean.

The resort itself was lovely. The pool area was very nice and the beach was beautiful. The swimming was amazing. The only thing I would say about the beach was the jet ski co. took up half of the access to the water and people left a lot of their trash in the sand. There is dining but it was ridiculously high priced. There was a tiki bar next door that was very good. Expect to pay $20.00 per day for parking at the hotel. You also need to pay $15.00 per beach chair and another $15.00 for an umbrella, which you will definitely need! I really can't say enough about the cleaning staff! Very friendly and helpful. Also, our waiter at breakfast,Daniel, was super. I would have never expected to have to pay for parking at a hotel I was staying at.

Beach Elevator was not working..

Staff were great! Location right on the beach. Bed was very comfortable. They should provide free beach chairs but it’s outsourced to a 3rd party. A lot of noise early in the morning with construction and fire alarms going off. All that being said it’s a good value for the cost.

the new hardwood floors in the rooms made your feet black all the time. I also think its gross how they use the same mop stick from the bathroom floor to the room floor. that just spreads germs! also balconies were dirty

This was a very nice hotel. The hotel staff was super nice and helpful. I would say the pool could have been a little cleaner but overall it was a beautiful hotel.

Let’s me start by saying the location is terrific and the front desk & restaurant staff were super friendly. The building is old with some renovations which is totally fine. Allot of the finishings on the Reno’s look incomplete and were not done very nicely. Allot of sloppy paint and pencil cut marks etc. it’s a bit of smoke and mirrors. Again not a big deal. Outside of the main floor the hotel was not very clean. Our bathroom was pretty gross and allot of simple things like only having a half a roll of toilet paper and the tissue box being empty were a little annoying. The sink plug was stuck down so we had to get maintenance and also our hotel room phone didn’t work. The one thing that we really noticed was our hallway had fairly new carpet but it was in dire need a vacuum. There was stuff all over it and for sure it hadn’t been done in some time. The elevator was pretty gross too. I took pictures which I will try to upload if possible. Overall the location is great but if we can find something a little cleaner next time we would. Bar staff at the pool bar were great and the drinks are strong! If you are used to very nice hotels this won’t work for you. Stay here if you can get a good price.

There was black mold on the ceiling of our room. The bathroom was not clean when we arrived. There was a pool of water under our AC unit inside of our room. There was so much moisture that while I was sleeping there was water dripping on our face.

When we arrived the sink was stopped up with hair and their was hair on the counter so not clean at all- when the maid service cleaned she did not remove towel on the floor , the soap dish was under it and only put 2 fresh towels were put in bathroom instead of 4 that were removed- very sloppy cleaning service

Rooms were clean and comfortable and staff was nice. Grounds specifically the pool were not cleaned enough for the busy weekend. Husband and granddaughter got in the pool and hair was floating all over and got on them. They got out. So gross. Next morning hair was still wrapped on the rope. Stayed here for the pool and couldn’t use it. The gift shop didn’t have much for kids and the restaurant was over priced. Beach was full of seaweed and not clean.also parking fee is excessive. Too busy for my liking.

I stayed for 3 nights and i noticed baby cockroaches. Found one in my luggage as i was repacking my things. Other than that, beautiful property and shower was amazing.

I would probably not stay here again for the price. The room we were given the ac was leaking so we were moved to another room. I could see many were leaking from the balcony. Which had terrible veiws of their ugly roof tops. They do not clean room each day so towels and tp are not replaced. The wifi was horrible. Showers were not very hot but fine but showers don't have doors. The staff was very nice and helpful. Good amenities as well.

Best value you can find for right on the ocean. Also, very friendly staff and walkable to great food/drink options. If I would critique anything, my room was spotless and perfectly cleaned, but they didn’t vacuum or clean the floor hallway over 3 days. That didn’t match up with everything else and the great housekeeping in the actual rooms. But, would recommend on the whole in a big way and a gem for the price.

This was my 4th time staying at Ocean Sky since 2019. currently upgrading all rooms and hallways which they desperately needed.. however, it seems like maintenance is doing the upgrades instead of professional contractors. The rooms have laminate instead of carpet . The rooms are now bright not dreary. the bathroom - they installed new glass showers with a rain shower head -without doors, the shower floods. The shower head is in the middle of the ceiling, drain is against the wall, the lip for the shower where you walk in is maybe an inch. The water cannot get to the drain so it floods on floor. We had to “build” a wall with extra towels ever time we used the shower We had to constantly ask for extra towels and toilet paper each day at the front desk because the cleaning ladies refused to give us the extra towels. They also would not give us extra toilet paper. If there was half a roll of the holder they didn’t leave extra toilet paper. when we told them about the flooding they basically ignored us -talking to other guests it was the same issues The beds are super comfortable, there is a lack of storage for your clothes and luggage. My friend had to live out of her suitcase next to her bed because not enough drawers or anywhere for her suitcase The WiFi was HORRIBLE - complained everyday,manger at front desk would laugh it off. 2 days we had to ask for room to be cleaned and one day wasn’t cleaned at all had to ask for clean towels This was my last Stay there

I stayed on May 29- June 1 2025 My room was on the side of the building that currently has a construction site going on next door so if you’re a light sleeper maybe as for the opposite side. I loved my balcony and view of the ocean and the city! I stayed in a room right near the elevator, again if you’re a light sleeper ask for a room further from the elevator the doors or walls are thin I was disturbed in the middle of the night every night. Maybe the hotel staff can put a sign on the wall that reminds patrons to keep the noise down as they enter the building or hallway. Now as far as my stay, I am very satisfied. Every staff member was friendly and greeted me multiple times a day. I utilized the fitness center and I Loved it! Perfect hotel gym! I did not eat at the restaurant nor did I get a drink at the Tiki bar but other patrons looked as though they enjoyed themselves. I do like that the bar/pool and jacuzzi stays open until 11pm! The hotels is about a mile walk from other restaurants/juice bars and touristy shopping areas just down the road. The room is spectacular! Very comfortable. My balcony was a bit dirty with pigeon poop

The hotel was older but clearly renovated recently. Hallways smelled very clean and pleasant. Staff was awesome. Some parts of the property (not the room) were older but still in decent working order. The “view” from the room was overtop a roof with air vents on it. Not exactly pleasant but we could also see the beach. I had a broken leg and staff made sure to get us a room right next to the elevator for my convenience which was appreciated. We expected a little noise from the elevator as a result but didn’t actually experience that. We DID experience noise from the rooms on either side. With non-carpeted floors all regular volume conversations were easily heard in our room. That may be the only real “issue” we had. But for the price the place was what we were hoping for. Would recommend again.

The remodel looks great, however you need to do something about the noise in the rooms. Its those very crappt separating doors betweens rooms. You hear constant noise between rooms. Ive stayed here mutiple times, alway the same. The love the propwrty elsewise.

The Ocean View was partial and does not actually face the pool or ocean at all. The hotel is older than I expected but still comfortable. The walls are very thin. We could hear our neighbors laughing and on the phone as if they were in the room with us. Staff was very pleasant. At checkout - payment was a challenge. My card was run 3 times and I am still waiting on the release of 1 of the attempts. I used a different card to pay so if using AMEX you might have issues.

Everything was great but noise from construction

Love this hotel, right on the ocean, great pool and hot tub too. Recently renovated and everything thing is clean, bright, and welcoming.

The property is very nice however the temperature control is horrible, the room was so damp we had trouble sleeping and our clothes were still wet when we got home.

I'm giving 4 stars because the room was nice (except that the recent remodel left the showers with floors a little too flat to drain property), the location was great for someone like me who likes to walk to and from restaurants (20 minutes down the beach or about 12 on the sidewalk instead), and everyone with whom I interacted who worked at the property was very nice. The view from the balcony was adequate and the breeze was excellent. The gym was fairly solid. I would avoid the restaurant. That was the glaring downside. The food was average at best, and that is being nice. However, there is plenty of food nearby. And there's a grocery store. It is worth noting the elevators, though nearly always at least partially occupied, were unusually responsive. They really arrived quickly and consistently. As a solo traveler, I'd stay again.

just wasn’t my cup of tea.. horrible “partial ocean view” my view was of a roof with air conditioners. I didn’t see the ocean AT ALL. If you stay here DO NOT LET THEM PUT YOU ON THE 2nd floor, the views are terrible.

Front desk agents were super friendly and professional. Valet, attendants were miserable, short in conversation. Would not even look ant us when seeing a question, except for two Spanish guys seems very happy up beat and suggested areas to visit when we didn’t even ask.

When I checked in the hotel, I specifically asked if I had the breakfast option. I was told that I didn’t but two days later the front desk receptionist brought breakfast tickets to my room and stated they forgot to give these to me. when I asked for a refund since I was only able to use them for one breakfast as I was checking out at 6 AM on Sunday, I was told that I couldn’t because they were prepaid through Expedia. Nothing was VIP about my experience.

I liked how the location was great very close to restaurants and the peer as well. I was very clean and very well taken cared off! Food in the restaurant was a little pricy for the quality. Something I did not like at was the valet service ... not very friendly and very rude . also during high pool time not enough security. some guest were playing football in the pool and twice I got hit by the ball. then a lot of the small children had huge floaties. Which at times it was an inconvenience when you are just relaxing in the water.

I want to start by saying the front desk staff were great, which makes it all the more unfortunate that I have to write a negative review about the overall staff and service. We used the valet service, and unfortunately, our rental car was dinged. The valet company claimed the damage was pre-existing and said they reviewed surveillance footage. However, when we requested a copy of that footage, the manager responded dismissively with “you see” (referring to a low image quality screenshot of something on his phone) and refused to provide it. I understand the valet is a third-party company, but there should still be some accountability and transparency in situations like this. Additionally, the hot water in our room was inconsistent. The temperature in the room was also uncomfortable — either extremely cold or humid — even though we kept the door closed. That said, the property has good potential. It offers its own beach access, and the fitness facility was well-equipped.

We had a wonderful stay - then at check out were over charged. I was emailing with a manger whom has now ghosted me. If you rent the pool lounge chairs for all the days of your stay - the coupon for $10 parking will not work if your a hotel guest. They only take the coupon from people that are not staying - but when you ask directly they will not tell you that - then charge $25 each day instead. The location was great, we enjoyed the pool, the beach access was perfect and the room was clean.

Parking the car, Orlando, + Thomas, were the best!! William the Concierge FANTASTIC!! Very helpful, kind, thoughtful, efficient + has a good sense of humor!!! Then there is the Front Desk group... Caroline is the best representative for this company!! She"s efficient, knowledgeable, kind, quick + a GREAT sense of HUMOR!!! There are more GREAT Front Desk people who are here!! Yva, Marica, and Andrej. They make each guest feel welcome and informed!! Nice smiles when you walk in the doors. Very efficient as well! They all just ROCK!! The Breakfast was good but, like all places in this area to eat all VERY pricey!! Staff at restaurant very nice!! Went to McDonald's for breakfast after that, LOL!! The Front Desk people + William helped us find less expensive places to eat. One really nice place recommend by, Caroline, excellent on the canal name Shooters!The Pork Chops and Trout so good the hotel its self is sm but mighty, clean, comfortable safe.We liked the beds they weren't hard, but thats a personal preference for each person. The Boutique with Madoson,Tara and sometimes Tammy, is packed with lots of stuff for such a little spot! Its not the Ritz, but then your not paying those prices. Its a place we'll go back to over and over!! They are working on the interior area's in the building baseboards etc + other things outside. We had no pronlem with noise. The swimming pool is great + the beach is right there... its WONDERFUL!! THANKS to all the staff for all your help!!

Love coming here every year. This year the towel lady was awful. My 9 yr old apilled her drink on the towel and when i went for a new one we were scolded. I asked her if she wanted me to go wash it in the ocean. Its a towel! Not a huge deal. She was beyond rude. Very dissapointing

Though some of the employees at this hotel were very nice and professional—particularly the evening front desk staff who were welcoming and accommodating—my overall experience was disappointing due to a few rude and unprofessional individuals, especially the morning staff on Friday. I raised a concern about the excessive noise from being placed directly in front of both the elevator and ice machine. When I spoke to the manager (I believe her name was Caroline), she initially claimed there were no available rooms to move me. Only after I mentioned checking out did she suddenly find a room on the backside of the hotel, closer to the street and parking lot. What made matters worse was that when I returned to the front desk, Caroline and another staff member seemed to think the situation was a joke. Their dismissive attitude was incredibly unprofessional and left a bad impression. It’s disappointing to be treated like an inconvenience rather than a guest. This stay could have been much more pleasant if the morning management team took guest concerns seriously and acted with the same level of professionalism as the evening staff. UPPER LEADERSHIP TAKE NOTICE BEFORE YOU HAVE MORE PROBLEMS

Everyone was friendly at the front desk. Especially Marsha. We love her personality. We’ve been going here for about 5 years. We love it for the convenience. Hotel right by the water.

We loved that this hotel is conveniently located near grocery, souvenir shopping and restaurant options. It's a walkable distance to Lauderdale-by-the-sea and a brief golfcart or uber ride to Las Olas Blvd and/or the night life of Fort Lauderdale on A1A.

great location, beachfront property. Love that there is a beach elevator so you don't have to traipse through the lobby in bathing suits. Have stayed here twice One a premium room and one a deluxe. The premium was better and had a microwave and better ocean view. Didn't like the restaurant in the hotel. Ordered a few appetizers that were sub par when they arrived and gratuity was already added to bill, which wasn't posted anywhere that this would be and the server attempted to hide by taking the itemized bill and giving me one to add tip and even writing on it asking for tip. I questioned the bill total and asked for the itemized bill back and saw the added gratuity already on it. I than called the waiter out by writing that gratuity was already added on the signature slip. Other restaurants in nearby Lauderdale by the sea were great!!

Food was good and the beds was comfortable. Alcohol by the poolside was pricey, I expected to pay a little more but a Dixie cup for a mixed drink was $15.

Great location, clean and well maintained, nice and professional service, beautiful and clean beach, overpriced dining, we would like to have a breakfast or lunch but prices and choices are poor. Instead we were dining outside. Huge plus was a great transportation system since we came for only long weekend and didn’t rent a car. Overall, great experience and memories thx

Overall it was a wonderful stay! I am a local that wanted to do a single night staycation with my mom, a girls’ weekend. The staff was very friendly and the room was clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed the tiki bar and pool area. Unfortunately the restaurant wasn’t appealing so we went out for dinner. If I was to critique anything it would be the restaurant. It felt more like a cafeteria which would be good for breakfast in the morning however it lacked the type of dining vibes that most would appreciate while enjoying dinner.

The only thing i didn't like was the food prices, $20 for a regular breakfast no coffee included plus 18% service fee was too much. Also $20 for a personal pizza. I guess thats why the restaurant was always empty. Besides that everything was great. Nice location, beautiful and quiet beach.
