The stay was ok. But the ladt night we stayed we was not allowed to park on the car park meaning we had to park over a mile away and walk. This was a challenge when leaving the following day when we had ti carry our luggage a mile down the road. This was due to having a party on. So please when you are booking ask about parking as this was not good enough speciall when it was terencial rain. They didnt even say sorry. We booked this over 5 months in advance. Woman on recepection couldnt have cared less. Breakfast was not worth paying for.

Lovely old-fashioned unique hotel. Lots of choice for food, and the spa is fab - £12 access per room is great, and the facilities were clean and updated. The gym/health club was a huge plus and made the stay even better. I would say the Bistro could do with some redecorating - the food was good and very reasonable, but the ambience/decor was a little plain for a dinner location! Aside from that, the rooms were clean, spacious and comfy, and the staff were all really friendly. Such a nice location for a weekend country getaway

The hotel in general was okay, the health club was good, however it was not included in the price of the stay and an additional cost of £10 was charged for the use of this on arrival, this would have been good to know

Very comfortable stay with amazingly helpful staff. Wonderful spa with excellent swimming pool. Bistro good for late breakfast with lovely staff. Pleasant gardens. Very good value.

My partner and I had a lovely relaxing stay at Cave Castle. It is a stunning place and the grounds are immaculate. We took advantage of the gym and spa facilities, they were a great extra! Lots of choice for meals as there’s 3 restaurants on site and a bar area. Theres a nice looking golf course on site if that’s your thing but we aren’t in to that so didn’t try it. We booked a double room but when we arrived were put in to a very dated, dingy looking twin room (with a view of a back car park) it was literally two beds pushed together not even trying to look like one bed with one headboard etc. it was just blatantly two single beds with a double duvet over. When looking at our guest card our original room number that they had allocated us had been scribbled out and changed to 114 (said dinghy twin room) so we couldn’t help but think that we had been given a lesser standard room because they were quite full with having a wedding on. That’s the only thing we really have to “complain” about. However the reception staff were very accommodating and couldn’t apologise enough. They moved us in to a much nicer more modern double room with a view of the golf course. We were much happpier there and it was more what I expected. Thank you I have to say that the breakfast was superb! Lots of choice all hot and cooked perfectly! We have both said that we would return. Thank you for a very pleasant stay!

Was staying only for one night. A stunning building. Room very clean. Bed very comfortable - had trouble waking up! A delicious cooked breakfast which also included pastries and croissants. Helpful and friendly lady on the desk in Health Spa.

We had booked the whole weekend to celebrate my husband's birthday so it was a huge disappointment to me when I saw the shabby room we had been allocated and wished I'd asked to upgrade. However, when we had to complain about the TV not working to the Receptionist, and was told "that was it" and "we were lucky to have a smart TV in our room, not everyone has," it set the tone for the whole of the weekend. The bathroom I have to say was spotless, if a little tired and old. The shower was a leaky mess that refused to budge, the shower curtain - inadequate - barely reached the top of the bath. There was old, badly applied mastik in areas I didn't wish to see. The TV, as I said, didn't pick up any of the apps on the remote and we had Freeview or nothing, so that was annoying because why advertise smart TVs if you then can't supply wired internet or decent wifi to run them? It was also very old and so small that we couldn't see it from the bed, which was shoehorned into the opposite end of the L-shaped room. The storage would have been adequate but there were hinges hanging off that banged when the doors were closed and zero hangers. The carpet was old, tired and badly marked. There was a definite lack of electric sockets for chargers, kindles, etc and the curtains weren't lined, so we woke at dawn with the sun. These things might seem picky but the ads for Cave Castle boast luxury, and this wasn't it. There was more but this awful website only gives me 1500 characters.

As an 84 year old with luggage it would have been nice to have been offered assistance to the room. However, the room was spacious on the ground floor and easily accessible. General cleanliness particularly after events could be improved. The staff were friendly and helpful.

I asked for a room with a view ax it was special birthday. My view was a Nick wall and another window less than 5 yards away. Because of this the room was incredibly dark. The bistro was poor and tables not cleaned. The pool area and changing room needed attention - and there was an extra charge for using the pool. The hotel looks lovely from the outside but lacks atmosphere and the decor in places is date. The breakfast room on one day was like a staff canteen. Average, no better than that.

Attended a beautiful wedding here, the grounds and house are beautiful. The bedroom was nice and big, but they couldn’t do separate beds like I had requested so had to share with my mum. The mattress was very firm which wasn’t the best but manageable and the pillows weren’t the best. Bathroom was a good size but the shower was quite rusty. Overall was good for an overnight stay after a couple drinks; but would want different if staying for more than one night

Overpriced . The location and surroundings are great and this hotel clearly takes advantage of that when marketing itself and then providing substandard tired and dated rooms. The rooms are desperate for renovation and by the looks of them have been for the last 20 years. The bathroom was old and of low standard no luxury at all. The carpets were covered in stains , the tap was leaking , the bathroom fan was noisy and the bedroom furniture looked like it was about 50 years old , Plus they gave me a room with the view of a ladder that looked like it was the emergency route down and a wall so that wasn’t even pleasant . The bed was comfortable but the room was drab and un-inviting . Check out is also really early - 10.30 am. Such a shame as this could have been a lovely hotel to stay in but unless you have to I’d find some where else to stay

The hotel looks beautiful from the outside and is set in a beautiful spot but the inside and rooms are very dated and in need of some work. Sadly our room also did not have a window, it was covered in paper to conceal the dilapidated state of the outside. The room was clean and the bed comfortable.

We have travelled for 15 days in Yorkshire thought we would treat ourselves to a stay here and it turned out to be the worse stay o& our trip. Stayed in room 35 and the view from the window was appalling opposite a very old dilapidated window with a step ladder outside. Felt like we were in the dungeon of a castle it also had netting over the top of the ladder. Stayed in better Premier Inns. Advise is Don’t Bother to stay herei in a standard and very basic room.

My partner and I had a lovely relaxing stay at Cave Castle. It is a stunning place and the grounds are immaculate. We took advantage of the gym and spa facilities, they were a great extra! Lots of choice for meals as there’s 3 restaurants on site and a bar area. Theres a nice looking golf course on site if that’s your thing but we aren’t in to that so didn’t try it. We booked a double room but when we arrived were put in to a very dated, dingy looking twin room (with a view of a back car park) it was literally two beds pushed together not even trying to look like one bed with one headboard etc. it was just blatantly two single beds with a double duvet over. When looking at our guest card our original room number that they had allocated us had been scribbled out and changed to 114 (said dinghy twin room) so we couldn’t help but think that we had been given a lesser standard room because they were quite full with having a wedding on. That’s the only thing we really have to “complain” about. However the reception staff were very accommodating and couldn’t apologise enough. They moved us in to a much nicer more modern double room with a view of the golf course. We were much happpier there and it was more what I expected. Thank you I have to say that the breakfast was superb! Lots of choice all hot and cooked perfectly! We have both said that we would return. Thank you for a very pleasant stay!

The stay was ok. But the ladt night we stayed we was not allowed to park on the car park meaning we had to park over a mile away and walk. This was a challenge when leaving the following day when we had ti carry our luggage a mile down the road. This was due to having a party on. So please when you are booking ask about parking as this was not good enough speciall when it was terencial rain. They didnt even say sorry. We booked this over 5 months in advance. Woman on recepection couldnt have cared less. Breakfast was not worth paying for.

We paid for our breakfast upfront and then this was also charged on our room and the receptionist was extremely argumentative with us as we did not want to pay for this again. Double charged us for our room. The list goes on..we stayed with a large group of people for 2 nights and the staff were very rude to us throughout the whole stay. Absolutely would not plan to stay here again and certainly would not recommend it to anyone. You would get better service at a Travelodge or Premier Inn down the road.

The hotel and grounds are fantastic and the village is lovely. I have stayed twice in a few months and the review is the same. The restuarant manager looking after breakfast is fanastic and looked after me on both occasions. The check in staff could be a little bit more welcoming and even if you are busy, an acknowledgement after a long journey would be appreciated that you are waiting from any member of staff behind the desk. I prefer the lodge rooms for space and being a bit newer, the bathrooms are decent, but the rooms do need a repaint and wall damage repaired plus a bit of TLC. Value for money one both stays for the room was very good.

This is a small castle-style state that has had modern rooms added onto the back. The staff we interacted with were very good, but the property including restaurant, bar, and check in desk were very understaffed. The night we were there, there was a prom, wedding, hen-dos, etc. It was very rowdy and service took a long time anywhere we interacted with the hotel staff, so we did not notice some of the beautiful aspects of the grounds until the next morning when we were driving off property. It was a good stay, but if you are looking for a “castle” experience, you may way to consider this place but expand your search as well. Rooms were very spacious.

Lovely building in beautiful grounds. Comfortable room. The service in the restaurant was friendly and efficient and the dinner was delicious. The buffet breakfast was exceptional - I particularly enjoyed the array of fresh and dried fruit. Lovely big swimming pool.

Very nice made by charming and helpful staff. However the property especially in the main building requires renovation as it displays a very faded elegance. Dinner was pleasant but not as good as as it should be in such a lovely setting. Overall a pleasant stay with fabulous staff, but please renovate and improve the standard of cooking in the main restaurant.

You can’t go wrong with his hotel, totally recommended, a fantastic location, hospitable staff, excellent customer service, value & variety of the food menu - it ticks all the boxes. All the staff are helpful but a special mention to Carol & restaurant team, you do a marvellous job. Chef, the breakfast is banging! See you again soon.

Lovely old-fashioned unique hotel. Lots of choice for food, and the spa is fab - £12 access per room is great, and the facilities were clean and updated. The gym/health club was a huge plus and made the stay even better. I would say the Bistro could do with some redecorating - the food was good and very reasonable, but the ambience/decor was a little plain for a dinner location! Aside from that, the rooms were clean, spacious and comfy, and the staff were all really friendly. Such a nice location for a weekend country getaway

Breakfast tables too close together- ( tables for two) configuration meant it was difficult even for slim people to sit down without bumping into the adjacent persons chair. Also my telephoned dinner reservation had not been noted at reception on checking in but it didn’t in this instance cause any problem . Very nice food. Nice cosy hotel and good facilities so will return for a break.
