The location is perfect, being next to the train station, boat quay (for trips across Lake Lucerne), concert hall (for the Lucerne Music Festival), and steps from the downtown and famous old bridges. Since Lucerne is so expensive, having the train station underground mall nearby is handy since it has relatively affordable groceries (the Coop store is awesome). Also, the train station has an amazing Tourist Info office that’s a great resource, and its entrance is right across the street from the street Alpina sits on. So convenient! Also, the pizza restaurant next door to Alpina is fabulous, and the rooftop bar at neighboring Monopole Hotel is the perfect place to go after you check in, for the views and ambience. We loved the fresh fruit left for guests at the front desk each morning; it made for good snacks later when we were on the train back from the mountains. Alpina was perfect for our family of four; we appreciated the quad room that allowed us to have separate beds for the teens and two rooms. I wouldn’t want to stay anywhere else.

Great hotel and location right next to the train station. The only downside was that they weren't staffed over the winter so we had to check in at a different hotel, but it wasn't a big inconvenience.

Super close to the train station and lots of restaurant options in the area. The only downside is there isn’t front desk staff at this location regularly. We were told staff would be there until 8 pm, but when we arrived to check in at 7 pm there was no one there. The partner hotel is just around the corner and easy to access so it was a quick fix.

호텔 컨디션은 좋았습니다. 모노폴 호텔에서 체크인을 하고 조식도 거기서 먹었습니다. 다만, 인근에 대학(? Colleague ?) 가 있어서 그런지 새백에 고성이 들렸습니다. 물은 tab water를 주는데 스위스 물이 깨끗하다고 하지만 사람에 따라 물갈이를 할 수도 있을듯 합니다.

Check in at 16.00 ! Ridiculous as of Train Station hotel.!! but very nice front staff they try to let in 1530 ))) by the way Hotel Front desk at Monopol hotel of the bext door .. Rooms are very cold after 1900 hrs. .

It was a good hotel with a good location. Both check-in and breakfast are in the hotel half a block or less away... which was weird, but not horrible. But it was a very good place to stay, and a good start to our vacation

Dated hotel and rooms need TLC, but great value for price and location. Check in is at a nearby hotel, but very friendly staff. Very close to Lucerne Station. Only concern is there are bars down below and people hung out on the street and got so loud until 2AM on the weekdays and 4AM on a Saturday we were there, hence there was earplugs provided in the room.

The room was ok but did not have air conditioning. There were two oscillating fans, which was nice, but we needed some cooler air so we had to sleep with open windows. There are several bars in the area and a restaurant next door. People were smoking cigarettes and the smoke came up into our room. It was Saturday night and the bars were open until 4 am. I was awakened many times, even with the provided ear plugs, and after 3 am, I could not fall asleep due to the constant yelling and screaming of the men and women at the bars. They continued to yell until 6:30 in the morning. It was awful!!!! The shower tiles were covered with epoxy at some point but that was bubbling up and rust and mold were behind the peeling epoxy paint. I like a clean shower. It was a very noisy location so I do not recommend it unless you like to drink all night. It was very close to the historic bridge and that was why I chose it.

Hotel Alpina is a convenient and practical option for short visits of Luzern or for concerts at the nearby KKL concert hall. The rooms are spotless and the hotel is 2 min away from the railway station and is located in the center of the city.

Infolge meiner Weiterbildung übernachte ich seit gut einem Jahr monatlich 2-4 Nächte in Luzern. Mein Standard-Hotel war diesmal leider ausgebucht. Mein Entscheid fiel auf das Alpina: gute Lage, Preis/Leistungsverhältnis schien auf dem Web OK. Mein Eindruck dann vor Ort: Ein leider sehr kleines Zimmer, die Einrichtung gefühlt 70er Jahre. Unter der Bettdecke lag noch ein langes schwarzes Haar des Vorgängers oder der Reinigung. Die Rezeption des Hotels war während des ganzen Aufenthalts nicht besetzt, man musste sich an die Rezeption eines anderen Hotels ein paar Häuser weiter weg wenden. Das Hotel Alpina hinterliess bei mir einen beengenden, eher schmuddeligen, unsauberen Eindruck. In den Fluren stank es nach FastFood, die Zimmereinrichtung ist veraltet und aus billigsten Materialien. Ich würde dort nicht mehr buchen. Da gibt es in Luzern erheblich Besseres für denselben Preis, an gleich guter Lage.

Facility is clean and staff is attentive and professional, yet personable. As is with many small hotels in Europe, the rooms are small and showing their age but clean. The location is amazing, walking distance to most of the major attractions in Lucerne, and the train/boat stations are literally just around the corner (so getting anywhere outside the city is super easy)…I can see why Hotel Alpina is highly rated, and I would recommend it also.

The hotel is next to a night club and a pizzeria. You can hear the night club all night long. The smell of the pizzeria filled the hallway and stayed in the room. I found an empty water bottle under the bed from the previous resident. The breakfast was very good though. I would not recommend this hotel especially for the price.

Room was large and relatively comfortable however there was no air conditioning in the room meaning you had to open windows which allowed the traffic noise in. Shower curtain was annoying and it was difficult to set the correct shower temperature on the mixer tap. No I’m site parking and as we were travelling with motorcycles, the local car parks would not allow us to park so on street parking was the only option which was disappointing. Roof top bar good but could be better. Overall, an expensive hotel for the quality.

The internet was very spotty. I had to re-log in at least 10 times in 24 hours because it kept kicking me off. Otherwise it was great. The staff was helpful and the location was great.

Oldukça merkezi, Basel SBB tren istasyonuna ve toplu taşıma duraklarına 3 dk yürüme mesafesinde, etrafında restoran / kafe / market seçeneklerinin çok olduğu bir otel. 2 gece konaklamak ve tren yolculuklarımızda kolaylık olması amacıyla bu oteli seçtik. Genel anlamda hijyen ve konfor olarak kötü diyemem, ancak odamızda klima yoktu. Yalnızca vantilatör vardı ve çok fazla yeterli gelmedi. Ek olarak, otelin WiFi ağına bağlanmak neredeyse imkansızdı. 5 dakikada bir bağlantı kopuyor, yeniden bağlanmak gerekiyordu. Bu nedenle en iyi tercih olduğunu söyleyemem. Fakat ulaşım ve konum olarak bizi tatmin etti.

Bar/club Downstairs could hear everything. This was despite being on one of the top floors. Paper thin walls between rooms, could hear everything from the neighbours. Great location but not worth staying there due to all the other faults.

The hotel is a beautiful old hotel, the rooms were updated with new windows and balcony door....which we needed because the street noise was loud and it was loud very late. There is no air-conditioning so leaving the window and balcony door open for the cool breeze was a must. Bed and pillows were comfy and the location is great for the train and overall sightseeing.We had a good stay.

我已付款給expedia 但酒店再double charge我房間費用。幸好我發現，投訴之後酒店說因為系統錯誤所以double charge我。 他們只有一聲sorry沒有任何賠償。雖然酒店有credit房價費用給我嘅信用卡戶口，但我損失了匯率差價，但他們什麼賠償都沒只是說系統錯誤 。 所以大家要小心此酒店有機會會因為系統錯誤收取不合理嘅收費。 此外接待處嘅服務員Elosie 態度都十分差, 做錯程序都不負責 。 臉上總是沒有笑容只有冷笑 !此外酒店沒有接待處，要去他們嘅姊妹酒店接待處投訴 ，距離一段距離 ！食早餐也要去他們的姊妹酒店裏吃,十分不方便。 此外酒店附近很多酒吧及餐廳，夜間十分多噪音 ！此酒店令我對瑞士嘅酒店服務十分失望 !還建議不要入住此酒店！！！

We reserved and paid for our room months in advance. When we arrived on a rainy night after traveling the receptionist informed us that they were over booked and they “upgraded” us to a hotel across town and all we had to do is go back out in the rain with our luggage and wait for a bus. Facility is clean and staff is attentive and professional, yet personable. As is with many small hotels in Europe, the rooms are small and showing their age but clean. The location is amazing, walking distance to most of the major attractions in Lucerne, and the train/boat stations are literally just around the corner (so getting anywhere outside the city is super easy)…I can see why Hotel Alpina is highly rated, and I would recommend it also.

The location is perfect, being next to the train station, boat quay (for trips across Lake Lucerne), concert hall (for the Lucerne Music Festival), and steps from the downtown and famous old bridges. Since Lucerne is so expensive, having the train station underground mall nearby is handy since it has relatively affordable groceries (the Coop store is awesome). Also, the train station has an amazing Tourist Info office that’s a great resource, and its entrance is right across the street from the street Alpina sits on. So convenient! Also, the pizza restaurant next door to Alpina is fabulous, and the rooftop bar at neighboring Monopole Hotel is the perfect place to go after you check in, for the views and ambience. We loved the fresh fruit left for guests at the front desk each morning; it made for good snacks later when we were on the train back from the mountains. Alpina was perfect for our family of four; we appreciated the quad room that allowed us to have separate beds for the teens and two rooms. I wouldn’t want to stay anywhere else.

Excellent location for trains, buses, boats, tours, and close to Old Town, Chapel Bridge etc. Spacious rooms and bathrooms. No air conditioning not helped much by pedestal fans. Had a bad experience trying to upgrade.
