The Walt Madrid

The Walt was perfect for our stay! We LOVED the location-so close to Gran Via as well as the Malasana and Chueca areas. The staff were great and we appreciated the security measures at night time. Our room was comfortable, clean, and air-conditioned. We were also able to store our luggage at the hotel when we arrived before check-in.

Right in the center of Madrid on a quiet side street. Excellent restaurants in a 2 block radius. Small but comfortable. Parking immediately next door.

Het hotel was in verbouwing en had geen eens een receptie. Sommige van ons werden om de ochtend wakker vroeg van bouwgeluiden op de binnenplaats. Daarnaast was er geen ontbijt beschikbaar terwijl dit wel op de website stond aangeven.

The good, the bad and the ugly on The Walt. The good. Friendly staff, great location on quiet street by Gran Via and Chuenca and I quite liked the rooms retro decor (but maybe not everyone's taste) The bad. Guests come with stuff, so storage in bathrooms should be a pretty basic requirement. The lift is tiny, and while we didn't have an issue I can imagine it can be an issue in high season. Rooms could benefit for hot drink options. The ugly. The hotel is undergoing pretty big refurb, so reception in makeshift and no breakfast offering. This really should have been clear before one book.

Americans will find the rooms extremely small. Had trouble with the AC on day 1 but staff took care of it the next day although I could not cool the room down to a temperature that was comfortable for me (19-20 degrees F). Bathroom was modern and nice. Shower water pressure was fantastic! The location was great. Just a few steps from Gran Via Street and the Hop On - Hop Off bus. There was a parking garage and a Laundromat next door so that was convenient.

The Walt is located in a very central location which allows for you to walk to many places. The breakfast is very minimal and with so many options around you may want to consider eating out. If you have a car, there is a parking garage adjacent to the hotel but since we did not have a car, we are unsure if it is private. The staff allowed us to check in early which was very nice of them. The rooms contain a light with a USB outlet which was much needed since we did not pack a converter. Each night the front door is locked which provides an extra sense of security. Overall we enjoyed our stay at The Walt and would recommend it to others.

We stayed here for 3 nights & other than having a convenient location there is nothing nice about this place. Staff are rude, barely speak English. Breakfast is awful. No onsite parking although it was advertised on Expedia there is. Parking is next door & not affiliated with hotel, $30 a day. Hotel wouldn’t even refill small coffee packets in our room, was told that’s only for initial welcome. Air conditioning didn’t work in our room, had to keep windows open all night for 3 nights & area of hotel is so loud couldn’t sleep all night. They advertise air conditioning & sound proof rooms but not if you have to keep windows open because a/c is not working. Wanted to purchase coffee from their small hotel lounge to take to my room which is only crappy kcup coffee & over priced but they didn’t have to go cups & wouldn’t give me cup from lounge had to go back up stairs & get cup from my room for staff to give me coffee! I do not recommend this place & would not stay here again. Couldn’t wait to check out of here! Terrible place and service!

Cute little hotel but it was very very noisy all night outside so be mindful of that. Also for the price I think they could have way more amenities (robes? At least free coffee at a minimum??)

Excellent small boutique hotel in a very good location a few steps from Gran Via. Super decent room. Spotlessly clean. Great bed, great bathroom. Small but perfectly formed

El hotel se encuentra muy centrico y estrategico para andar a pie mas sin embargo el personal es deficiente con poca respuesta de servicio al cliente. En nuestra habitacion el duvet estaba sucio y con pelos bajamos a decirlo a la recepcionista y lo unico que pudo decir es que no tenian mas y que manana lo expresaramos a la recepcion para que la cambiaran sin una disculpas ni nada mas cuando es algo esencial para dormir a gusto! La habitacion es realmente pequeña y se nota que no esta muy cuidada. Luego el dia que nos tocaba tomar el vuelo teniamos que salir a las 3 am del hotel teniamos maletas grandes el recepcionista solo abrio la puerta principal nos saco las maletas y quedamos expuestas en la calle. Les falta mucho servicio al cliente y mas alla de eso un poco de conocimiento del rubro. No lo recomendaria.

It was quiet to sleep, located right in downtown Madrid. Room was clean, and perfect.

Struttura molto pulita e carina la consiglierei sicuramente. Gli isolati attigui non sono un granché , ma nel complesso è molto comodo

The hotel is not worth the price compared to other places in Madrid. The room smells to sewer which is common in Madrid but in cheaper hotels. They close the door at 11 pm which is weird for a centric hotel. We had to ring the bell after 11 pm because let’s be real, who is back at the hotel before 11 pm in Madrid?

El único pero que le pongo al hotel es la limpieza, nos entregaron el cuarto con el piso sucio (hojas de calle y tierra tiradas), y después del servicio de limpieza encontramos eso mismo pero arrinconado debajo de nuestras maletas..

Estuvimos dos noches y la pasamos brutal. El personal super atento. Los cuartos cómodos, limpios y con agua caliente. Caminas 3 minutos y llegas a la Gran Via. Lo recomiendo 100%! Saludos, Jorge 🇵🇷

Lage des Hotels sehr zentral . Wir hatten zwei Zimmwe eins zur Strasse hin das leider sehr laut war und eines zum Hof hon das sehr ruhig war. Zimmer sehr sauber. Da gibt es nichts zu beanstanden. Jetzt das aber.. Frühstück war sehr überschaubar. Keine große Auswahlmöglichkeit und es wurde auch nur schleppend nachgefüllt. Kaffee ungeniesbar.

Great location to walk to everything. The breakfast was good with a nice little variety. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. The room faced a little alley that was somewhat busy and I could definitely hear talking and vehicles, but earplugs helped.

Americans will find the rooms extremely small. Really good location, close to amenities and transport links. Onky negative was the aircon was set to 23° lowest but it was very warm for us so needed it lower.

Perfect location and nice room! We stayed on the first floor above street level. Thankfully the street is small and mostly quiet, so we didn't get disturbed by any major noices. Room was in good condition and had all needed necessities. Best prt was the location next to Gran Via and public transport

Sleek, simple, new. A bit sterile - all white, no carpeting. Friendly prostistutes on the corner. The entrance area very underfurnished. Great central location. All rooms windows face a wall.

Omg, this is the worst place ever: Not a hotel as advertised but a hostel located in a basement. I had emailed days in advance letting them know I would be arriving early from California and would need an early check in. They were rude from the beginning and didn’t seem to want to accommodate me and told me check in was at 3:00. So I asked for my money back and they refused. So I went there anyways thinking they would try to help me after my 20 hour flight. Nope! Irene the on duty person was completely unsympathetic, didn’t help me with any of my bag or offer the use of a bathroom or drink of water or anything. She told me “maybe” a room would be ready by 3:00. I told her that wasn’t good enough and she didn’t care. Then I spent hours in the lobby crying and on the phone with Expedia for a refund. I’ve never been treated so poorly by a hotel in my life. Irene was so rude and apathetic. She kept saying “I explain to you very well the hotel policy”. How is that helpful? I was literally crying in the lobby, what a travel nightmare. Finally Expedia refunded my 3 night stay paid in advance and I went to hotel Regina. A world of difference. Got a room right away. Marta and Jesus were amazing, Took my bags to my room and got me a drink of water and maps of the city. I slept for a day in a great room. The same price and a world of difference. Don’t book the Walt you will be sorry.

Delightful small hotel ideally located for central Madrid attractions and convenient for transport. Comfortable rooms, charming staff. Highly recommended!

This hotel is really walkable and its very clean. Overall, great experience. The housekeepers were extremely nice and the majority of receptionists. There was only one receptionist that was extremely rude when asking for a new set of towels. It seems hotel is extremely strict on their towel policy (they don't change towels during your stay) I was there for five nights and asked her if I could get two clean towels. Her demeanor and rudeness explaining the situation made it awkward. Other than that everything was fine just be aware about the towel situation. If you want clean towels they charge 5€ per clean towel.

Excellent staff and most helpful. Comfortable room although 2 chairs rather than 1 would have been better for a double room. The breakfast was substantial with buffet items covering cereals, sliced sausages, cheese, dried fruit, conserves and fresh bread. also yoghurts, fruit juices, teas and fresh coffee. The Walt is close the the main shopping street, Gran Via, and close to bus a metro. The immediate area is somewhat run down but does not feel unsafe.

Location was a block away from the Main Street. Perfect location for someone that wants to get the most out of Madrid, it seemed like everything was a 15 min walk from this hotel.

The area for this hotel is unbeatable

Definitivamente su ubicación es su mejor aspecto. Cerca de todo.

Das Zimmer wurde immer gut gereinigt, das Personal war freundlich und es wurde sofort auf Wünsche eingegangen. Das Hotel liegt in der nähe von der Gran Via. Nur die Speiseauswahl zum Frühstück war doch zu wenig.

Great location and nice hotel - it’s my 3ed stay in this hotel. I have been given a front first floor room above the lobby and street and the noise of the front desk and guests coming and going was terrible. The apartment across the narrow street was during works so extra noise. Breakfast wasn’t managed well - it was 09:45 and all the buffet was empty or half empty and wasn’t invited. Not enough selection. Need to b upgraded ASSP

Good clean boutique hotel near Chueca. Small room with queen size bed. Breakfast is basic, but will do the job
