Surprised by the average age of guests! Being a group of a 21 year old, a 60 year old, and a 31 year old we found ourselves to be among the youngest guests, the entertainment was geared to a higher age range which we did not know prior to booking. Staff ranged from fairly helpful to quite abrupt, particularly upon check-in where we were told we would need to pick from a limited time to attend breakfast (which we prepaid for) as we did not pre-book these times - strange! Apparently if you book via a third-party site they do not communicate this. Check in staff did not give a very good explanation of the hotel and its amenities so this should be improved. The theatre areas are impressive but the nightclub an odd set up with voyeurs! Close to the places we sought to visit (Oxford, Kingham, Chipping Norton). Rooms great. Other guests a bit rude - I was asked if I was a part of the evenings entertainment team whilst I was checking in! Overall, nice stately home.

Awful receptions , very rude and ignorant, when asked about a room upgrade which I was happy to pay for she said they hadn’t received my email from earlier in the day and got very argumentative about the situation, I then asked for a manager and she was just as bad. It was very rare to get a smile from anyone at the hotel except a young man called Ben who was a future bookings representative and was most helpful. Maybe Ben should have the Job of a manager as he was the only one that had a smile and was more than willing to resolved the situation and be most helpfull. 3 out of the 4 rooms booked were filthy, hair in one of the beds, mucky carpet and an old men’s shaver left on the bathroom side board. Dirt and stone on the carpet in one of the rooms. 2 cans of water in the superior room fridge and when asked for the rooms to be cleaned properly we were told by the receptionist that room service would be straight to our rooms to clean them up and change the bedding. They never arrived. The Hotel is boarder line a run down nursing home being run by incompetent people who clearly don’t care about re-visiting guests. The staff in the outside dining area were just as bad and having to wait 1 hour and 20 minutes for food and having asked 3 times too 3 different members of staff then to be told the QR code on the app wasn’t working but I had to show them proof that I had paid on my banking app to then have to wait again for another physical menu to be given to me. I could go on.

A round of applause for the marketing team at Warner for selling a dream that is quite detached from reality. The image you see in all the photos and where you think you are staying will not be the case in most instances. Instead they built a concrete block similar to a travel lodge out the back which is in fact where you get to stay. The spa - a good 15 minute trek, the room, a good 15 min trek from any car park. Staff super unhelpful, they treat everyone as if they have been here hundreds of times before and just keep pointing you to an app for basic information on where you eat instead of helping you. The place is huge, unnecessarily big. Which was then surprising when we unknowningly rocked up to some sort of saga Ibiza weekend - which not one person mentioned to us. Then for the music to be on until 1am right next to our room despite the thousands of acres quoted available to them. Services across the board was terrible, the bar staff looked hungover, it look like a bomb exploded behind the bar. A waitress then asked if she could take our drink order and bring them over, perfect! Nope after 20 minutes we asked her and she said she had just given the order to the fire mentioned hungover lads behind the bar and we were still in the queue which was about 20 mins, so we gained nothing from ordering from her. Dinner a buffet and again no explanation that some food could be ordered. Staff terrible. Begging for drinks. All in all a dire experience for £320.

We had an amazing time at Heythrop Park. The staff were are so friendly and wanting to help. The room was clean and spacious and when we had problems with the air conditioning not working, someone was sent to fix it and it was working again within half an hour. Only down sides were if you ordered through the app in the bars or restaurants, the service was slow and cleaning of the room while we were there was basic (towels changed, bed made and tea and coffee facilities replenished but dirty glasses not taken or changed).

The room was nothing more than a premier inn style rooms. Food was buffet style, under hot plates for hours, so not fresh, hard as nails pastry warm prawn cocktail starters! The food supplied really was poor, we drove out brought food in. Parking is a hike up a steep incline having to bring all luggage no assistance for disabled customers . The place looks very pride and prejudice but really for the money id book elsewhere. up!poor
