Beautiful hotel, the design was very consistent with theme of the hotel. Loved the roof top bar and the overall asthenic of the hotel. Amenities seemed limited but sufficient for basic needs. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Fancy architecture and design. Clean room and excellent bathroom. Drawbacks: There was no space to put my suitcase, except the floor. The lighting around the mirror was insufficient. The valet parking was at $64 per night outrageously expensive, especially as the public parking lots in the vicinity charge $30 per day.

This property is new and unique for it's nature friendly design. Many people were seen touring the hotel on Monday as we were preparing to leave. The design mimics trees, and has a lot of natural materials featured. The elevator includes bird sounds. Be aware there is not a parking lot, but you can get valet parking. The staff were a little snooty in general, but we did have friendly staff for checkin and morning coffee. The valet/bell staff were not very attentive and service was spotty. Would be good to welcome new guests with baggage and offer to assist to get the bags to rooms and point them to checkin. There was a popup concert next to the hotel for 2 of the nights that we were there. The noise was so bad that we couldn't sleep. The rooms are basic, offering standard amenities. Water was available to fill your own bottles on each floor, but no ice. Price was average. Location was a bit removed from where we spent our time.

Quick walk to everything on 16th street. I am an athlete, so the gym was what is was. Love the water stations on every floor and the green consciousness. Ambiance of decor and lighting was fantastic. The food and the restaurants was amazing. So fresh. Only negative note is that the valet scratched my rental car.

Very cute- the room and hotel itself was very aesthetically nice- the room was tiny though. It felt more like a dorm. The lighting was so bad I had to do my makeup in the car. If you’re a man or woman who doesn’t need lighting to get ready then it’s worth it. You literally cannot see your face or hair to properly fix them up. They also didn’t have water bottles available for purchase anywhere which is a must for me while traveling. Valet was also extremely expensive at $66 a day.

Nice new hotel convenient to many things. Love the environmentally conscious aspects of this hotel. It is very comfortable but small rooms. In order to go to upstairs outdoor bar you need to have an employee call for elevator and need reservations for seats even for bar seats. Seems odd if you just want to have drinks at bar or outside space. Otherwise, it is a nice hotel with a very cool concept.

Overall experience was good. The third party valet should arrange for more than one valet to be in staff on Friday and Saturday evenings. 15 -20 minute wait for a $64 per night service is not appropriate value for the money. Call your car 30 minutes before you need it.

We just did a short overnight stay to attend an evening at Christkindl Market. The hotel is brand new so very clean and all staff eager to please. The exterior is designed to look like an aspen tree and has beautiful nature esthetics in the interior design also. Bed was very comfortable and room was clean, but be aware that the room size is quite small (common for downtown) and the lighting around the vanity area lighting is dim - difficult for dealing with contact lenses and doing hair/makeup before going out. Overall, would recommend as a new and different place to stay in Denver.

Very clean room, really pretty

The hotel was very clean and lots of attention to detail from checking in, to the sounds in the elevator, and the room amenities. It was all well put together and the staff was accommodating.

The hotel staff were great. The little owl cafe was the best coffee we had in all of Denver. The breakfast at the hotel was delicious. Only disappointment was the room service, seemed like they only replaced the towels. The bedsheets weren’t changed just reorganized and the trash was never emptied the whole time we were there. Housekeeping didn’t speak English so it was difficult to communicate

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay as the hotel was new, clean, trendy, comfortable, good location & friendly staff! The only downfall is the coffee in the room is a ‘tea bag’ coffee & having to venture downstairs each morning to buy coffee was a bit of a bummer. In addition, housekeeping staff does not appear to stay after 3 pm, so if you work remote and plan to need housekeeping after a day of work, that is kind of a bummer as well. We were able to get our trash and towels taken care of, but for the whole 3 days we stayed, our coffee mugs were not removed, coffee bar not restocked and room cleaning was truly sub-par. I’m a clean freak and put a great deal of weight on the housekeeping staff as I spend a lot of time in my room. Otherwise, staff was lovely, beds were very comfy, bathroom was great, restaurants were great! It’s a must see and try in downtown Denver!

Populus was a great hotel to stay in! We couldn’t believe at how clean it was. The room was small but everything was immaculate. Staff was pleasant. I liked that this hotel is based on environmental conservation. I would recommend for them to change the lighting in the “vanity area” as it was really dark and difficult to see. One other thing is the location. We felt pretty unsafe walking around in this area and we are from Chicago so that’s saying a lot! Overall I would stay here again for sure.

The hotel its self is clean and nice. The room was very small. The bathroom was extremely small. Made the mistake of eating breakfast, not with the price.

Beautifully detailed hotel. Double queen room had stunning view of capital area. Excellent staff and coffee in the little owl was fantastic.

This is a gorgeous hotel with great staff, clean eco-friendly and with everything you need. Room was excellent, I couldn't have asked for more. Sad to leave 😢

I will start by saying that I really wanted to like this hotel. The property itself is lovely and quite nice, but there are some major operational issues to iron out. First, housekeeping. They were on our floor as we visibly exited but for some reason never refreshed our room. Returning a few hours later and seeing this, we called the front desk to request Housekeeping to come by the room. After returning again several hours later, housekeeping still hadn’t come to the room. Ultimately, a tired-looking staff member knocked on the door and just handed me a stack of linens. Second, the restaurant.

Wonderful hotel overall, only complaint is that the bed had a huge divot on one side. Became very uncomfortable to sleep in.

The room was much smaller than expected for the cost and not really a fan of the bathroom not having a sink. It’s a little weird brushing your teeth at the mini bar at the entrance of the room and not having a little privacy.

Loved our stay at the Populus Hotel. The design is so fun and the details throughout were very thoughtful. Bed was comfortable and I thoroughly enjoyed the coffee shop downstairs in the mornings. The only thing that wasn’t great was the lighting in the sink area. It was pretty terrible to get ready and apply makeup. Ended up taking the mirror to the bench in the window.

1. Attractive, striking design all over the hotel --lobby, restaurant, guest rooms. Striking. 2. It's been open ca. 4 months; still some problems. The power-shades on the windows don't work. A lamp kept flashing on and off. There's zero instruction in the room for using various gadgets; there's a remote control unit that shows numbers from 1 to 15; no indication what this is for, or what the numbers mean. 3. The room is dark, even with the (dim) lights all on. 4. We reserved a mountain-view room. The front desk announced that we got an "upgrade" --to a room with a view of the parking lot.

The rooms are so small and the bathroom so dark

I wanted to love this hotel because it’s new and I love a modern, new, clean hotel. But it was disappointing and I would not stay there again. The rooms are tiny and clearly designed by a man. They are dark even with the shades open and all lights on, so it was hard to do my hair, makeup, etc. There is no where to put your suitcase other than on the floor, or in a tiny closet not big enough to open a carry-on bag. The bathroom is just a toilet and small shower with the sink in the room. The staff are hit or miss. Three different people told me three different things regarding the cost for parking and parking hours.

Very small rooms.

Although the idea of the populus was very nice, being new and all - I was very disappointed with the size of the rooms for the price. My closet in my home is bigger than the shoebox they called a standard King room. The toilet and shower were so small my husband who is 6'3 barely fit!! Just something to keep in mind for anyone looking to stay here as I think its wayy overpriced. Also the bar did not offer a TV and i think thats always a nice added touch especially during football season.

Room was clean, but extremely small. No where to put your luggage and no where to put clothes if u did want to unpack...room is very dark

Booked a stay for my husbands surprise birthday weekend. The front desk staff told us repeatedly that our truck could be accommodated by Valet parking yet valet said they couldn’t. So there we were, in downtown Denver with no parking options within 3 blocks and the front desk refused to point us in the direction of overnight parking. I was asked zero questions at check in and only asked for my ID and card booked with but not asked to sign anything. I was not given any information about the hotel or where things were located so we wandered around on our own. There is now a $128 charge pending on my card for god only knows what since I prepaid for the room and was never told there would be another charge. So now I get to dispute that. We get to the room and it is the smallest hotel room I’ve ever been in. There is no ice (NONE AT ALL IN BUILDING) and no coffee or tea in the room. Apparently the room key gets you in to some place here in Denver but I couldn’t tell you what because I wasn’t told by front desk but rather overheard from another guest. This place is overrated, WAY overpriced and lacks any customer service. I’m so disappointed that I wasted my money on a place I can’t park at and can’t even get ice.

This is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in. Every detail of the hotel was perfect. Cleanliness, staff, restaurants, room…all perfect. Huge kudos to the staff and management….really amazing job!

We loved the design and view from the Populus. Front desk staff and valets were really nice and helpful. My husband hit his head on a door and they got him ice, checked on him later, etc. They gave us 2 coins for free cocktails even but our waiter upstairs took them but then charged us for the cocktails (that was the only thing we didn't like). We would stay again.

Staff at this property was excellent. Valet, bellman, and waitstaff went above and beyond.

This is not a luxury hotel in Denver. The design is pretty awesome, but that is where the positives end. The staff is beyond arrogant. We had 5 of us that wanted to go the rooftop bar for a drink at 430pm. We were made to wait at the hostess stand in the lobby for 15 minutes while they did something... not sure what. Finally, they said "okay, go up" and let us in the elevator to the 13th floor. We got up there, and the place was empty while the hostess in the lobby made it sound like it would take an act of Congress to get us in. It was so over the top with the hostesses making us feel like we were bothering them and that they were doing us a favor. Secondly, when I got in my room I immediately called down to ask where I could get some ice. Was told they have to bring it to me. I was like great - please send it up as I want to get a bottle of champagne chilling before my fiance got there. 45 minutes later still no ice, nothing. I called down and they said "we will send some up"... 20 minutes later nothing. I went down and they said the young man was on his way - come on... over an hour to get ice. No hand soap in the sink area at the vanity. No coffee creamer for the kettle and coffee. I could go on... Head's up, the rooms are small if two people are staying in the room. Overall - design hit the mark, but the lack of experience or care where hospitality is concerned was a huge miss.

Populus has a great group of team members that are demonstrating hospitality every day. The food and beverage staff are all excellent. Food quality and bartenders made the stay memorable.

Great decor, toiletries are super nice smell. Checkout took a a bit of time though because the front desk had no one for a while.

People at the front Desk are terrible, in a hurry and useless, no information provided. the hotel is great but checking in is terrible.

What a great property! So close to everything in downtown Denver -- we dropped the car with valet and didn't need it again until we left. So walkable. The coffee bar is amazing, and we love that it was open early! The staff were very attentive and just pleasant -- helped us get into a fun mood for a great weekend getaway. Loved the dinner we had at Pasque too, and their cocktails are worth a visit alone. Come and check this hotel out!

Beautiful hotel with a wonderful rooftop bar. Staff were all exemplary. Room facing Colfax Ave. was too loud with traffic noise. Food and drink was overpriced even for a unique "local" experience.

The hotel was amazing but honestly there was an EDM concert until 10 pm and my room physically shook from the time I checked in until 10pm. It’s not really the hotels fault but it was not enjoyable being in the room

A modern masterpiece with trendy amenities such as soaps and lotions. We fell out n love with the shower wash and ordered some as soon as we were home. Well stocked fridge and snacks. The restaurants are excellent - no reason to leave "home". The hammock window is fun, but not really restful - but a cool +! Great downtown Denver vibe!

Bar service for breakfast was excellent. Food exactly what I wouold have made for myself on a weekend. Every member of the staff from bellman, server to bartended was educated about the

Everything was great but unfortunately we had to eat out at another restaurant due to the fact that the beer list was only local micro brew and no other European imports. I enjoy a beer with dinner when on vacation. So we were no able to enjoy the hotel restaurant or bar.

Staff is fantastic. Very friendly and accommodating. Great food also. They have two restaurants and bars. Bartenders were very helpful with advice on where to hike. Room was perfect for what I needed. I would definitely recommend this place.

Beautiful property. Breakfast at the first floor restaurant was delicious and plenty of food to share.

The highlight was our dinner at the rooftop restaurant, Stellar Jay. Great outside cocktail area and food did not disappoint. The room and bed were comfortable. The look and feel of the place was good. I would stay here again.

Populus is beautiful and the attention to detail is amazing! Do not miss the rooftop bar with incredible views! The breakfast is amazing and I can’t say enough about the friendliness of every staff member I encountered. I have stayed in numerous nice hotels in downtown Denver and this will absolutely be my first choice from now on!
