We spent four nights at the Shangri-La and really enjoyed it. The hotel is centrally located just a few minutes' walk from an MRT station and one of Taipei's better night markets. Our suite was huge and immaculately clean, and the breakfast buffet was excellent. The gym was extremely well-equipped. Most importantly, the service we encountered from every staff member was top-notch. Finally, we really appreciated the early check-in (we arrived at 7:00 am and were able to check in right away, with just a small additional fee.)

We stayed at the Shangri-La Far Eastern, Taipei in a Grand Deluxe Family Room for seven nights, and it was a wonderful experience. The room was spacious, beautifully designed, and very comfortable, with plenty of space for three friends traveling together. The beds were cozy, and there was ample room for luggage, making it ideal for a longer stay. Everything was clean and relaxing, though the room could use a bit more lighting. The staff were warm and professional. Check-in and check-out were smooth, and they even helped celebrate a birthday with a special treat, which was such a thoughtful touch. The breakfast buffet was excellent, offering a wide variety of local Taiwanese dishes, a noodle bar, Indian and Asian options, and Western selections — all delicious and beautifully presented. The room was also well stocked with bottled water and Nespresso coffee, which we appreciated. The rooftop pool and hot tub offered incredible city views, and the hotel is connected to a shopping mall, with the Marco Polo Lounge being a great spot for drinks. The location was decent for the metro (about an 8–16 minute walk depending on the line), and getting around by Uber or taxi was very easy. Inside, the hotel was peaceful and relaxing. Some concierge staff were excellent, while others seemed a bit inexperienced when we needed suggestions during six days of heavy rain. Overall, the Shangri-La Far Eastern, Taipei delivers large rooms, great comfort, and warm hospitality.

TV unit was not equipped with Google Chromecast(later staff confirmed it can be provided)2. Swimming pool on top is deeper on one side with 1.9mtrs(higher than average man height) mainly suitable for professional swimmers. Adjacent 1/3 area is 1.3mtr deep, however lifeguard on duty always.

It was such a beautiful and clean hotel. Fantastic amenities and an iconic pool. But the thing that made it one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at was the staff and service. They were amazing. So kind, welcoming and helpful. We would stay at Shangri-La Far Eastern in Taipei again.

Three day stay in Taipei - very good selection for swimmers. Top floor has a 19m pair of swim lanes and the pool is heated. Had considered the Grand Hotel for the swimming but they didn't have rooms. They have a 50m pool as part of their facility, but I was reminded by another swimmer that they don't heat the pool. That may be OK in the summer, but wouldn't have been welcome at 60 degrees F in the morning. Pool belongs to a health club collocated at the hotel, so the lanes get crowded fast. Get in early.

The cleanest of the property is questionable. I have been staying at this property recently for Two nights and both days I had cockroach in my room.(I didn’t expect that when I was booking a five star hotel.) In the meantime when we running into another guest who was formerly staying next to our room had the same cockroach problem too. I am appreciated Chester the manager for realizing the issue and commit to do something about it. But I am not sure if I will go back again even after they switch us to a different floor and put us in a more expensive room.

My family and I stayed for 3 nights at the Shangri La Far Eastern hotel from September 18-21 in rooms 1915 and 1907. Our stay was average but could be better. There was a long strand of hair that were not ours in one of the clean towels and on our last night, we spotted and had to kill a roach that were in our bathroom (room 1907). Both discoveries made my family and I feel very discouraged by the comfortness and cleanliness standards that the Shangri La should provide.

每年回住3-4次經驗都很好，但是這次的2714房間整個浴室的淋浴玻璃門關不起來，花灑壞掉了無法切換，房間疏於維修跟整理，水槽下面還有莫名其妙的掉落物，一晚上一萬多的住房價格不應該是這樣的管理維護。 書桌旁的櫃子也歪斜變形，房間內櫃子和器具上都是灰塵。

We loved our stay! Beds were very comfortable, room was clean and modern, and we loved the fresh fruit left in our room every day. We had a great view of Taipei 101 and of sunsets from our room. We also had great views from the rooftop pool, which was warm. The pastry shop downstairs served delicious and beautiful treats. Staff was always helpful.

Staff was excellent and professional. Property was slightly dated, but not by much and still very comfortable. Everything was walkable - 2 MRT stations, night market, etc. It was close enough to get to Daan and Taipei 101, but far enough that it was very quiet at night. Would highly recommend.

We booked two different rooms, each for 2 adults and 2 teenagers. One was the Horizon Deluxe Twin Room. This room is nice, however the beds do not fit 4 people. Expedia should make a change. Apparently, the reservation came across to Shangri-la as 2 adults and 2 children both age 2. The other room was the Grand Deluxe Family Room. This was a really nice large room with one king and two full size beds. We loved this room. It was super spacious.

The best of the best! Jeffrey Chung is the finest Conceirge I have ever encountered. I can’t say enough about this hotel. They believe wholeheartedly in Customer Delight. I left my phone in a cab as I was dropped at the hotel one afternoon. Jeffrey assured me not to worry — that everyone gets their items returned in Taipei. He was so right. He saw to it and the taxi driver (so honorable) returned my phone. I look forward to returning to Taiwan and definitely staying at the Shangri-La Far Eastern. Susan April 2025

English speaking travelers will feel very comfortable and cared for in this hotel. The staff is genuinely hospitable and accommodating. A special thank you to Sing, the lifeguard on duty at the rooftop pool, (a hidden gem of a view of the city) who not only gave us a great recommendation for dinner at Chez Yeh, on our last night in Taipei but personally made a call to make a reservation for us. I highly recommend this beautiful, clean and relaxing hotel.

It was such a beautiful and clean hotel. Fantastic amenities and an iconic pool. But the thing that made it one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at was the staff and service. They were amazing. So kind, welcoming and helpful. We would stay at Shangri-La Far Eastern in Taipei again.

Hotel room has great view of Taipei 101. Staff are really nice and services are brilliant. Our trip was disrupted by the Heathrow closure, so was delayed for 1 day. The hotel team was brilliant and accommodating, allowing us to cancel one night despite very short notice. The location is walkable, but a little far from MRT station (~10 minutes walk).

The view from this hotel is amazing. We got the Taipei 101 view room and it was so worth it. The view from the rooftop swimming pool was so impressive, would def recommend tourists to stay here. The location is ok but not as central or convenient as hotels in Xinyi. The hotel is a bit old for my taste but overall everything’s functioning and meet my expectations.

Absolutely great experience. The only thing we would give advice to future guests is to look into the “meal plans” from our experience if you don’t purchase them in advance you aren’t allowed to dine at most of the restaurants. Other than that the staff, rooms and facilities are wonderful!

Nice place and great service but the room on the 9th floor smelled like a restaurant in the evening during restaurant rush hour and the wester section of the morning breakfast buffet was cold. Cold ham, bacon, sausage and paulenta. Nicely prepared but missing the mark when cold.

The food in the restaurants is not good. We went to the Chinese restaurant with 2 young children. The choices are limited and the taste is not as good as the other branches of the same brand in other places. The breakfast is OK only and is not value for money. The room has a spectacular city view, spacious, clean and modern.

The rooftop pool was closed so I was directed to the summer pool which wasn’t heated. So I couldn’t use it with my 2 year old which was extremely disappointing
