Hotel was great and convenient but the restaurant wasn't that great. The house salad I ask for vinegar and oil and they gave me oil with too many pickles and croutons. The catelloni pizza didn't have any sauce on it and it was dry and half the items in it were not heated or cooked so there was no flavor to the pizza . It needed pizza sauce or marinara sauce.

Central location, comfortable and clean room and bed, nice reception service, good breakfast. The only difficulty is parking. As the hotel is very central and doesn’t have own parking place, it is not possible to find a free parking place close to the hotel. It would be nice, if the hotel could provide the customer some detailed parking guide info beforehand.

Vi spiste en enkelt aften på hotellets restaurant, og den var virkelig ringe. Vi bestilte bl.a. en kyllingeburger, men fik en virkelig dårlig bolle og nogle kolde pommes frites. Vi sagde det til tjeneren, men han lod til at være ligeglad, og vores regning lød på fuld pris.

Overall it’s a nice hotel. However, they have a problem with the valet parking; it’s an independent company which charged us €40/cash/night! The above was never disclosed by the hotel or the valet boy. The cash demand comes when you are getting your car.

The Expedia listing showed on site parking or valet parking which was the main reason we booked it. Turns out there is no parking. It is a good location and a decent place, but would not have picked it knowing the parking situation.

Entrance directly onto the somewhat seedy Damrak notwithstanding, this is a beautiful hotel sandwiched between the main shopping areas of Amsterdam and Napoleon III's palace. Close enough to Amsterdam Centraal to walk from the train. Lovely architectural design highlights, our room overlooked Amsterdam rooftops. Espresso machine in room, great gym, solid 4-5 star presentation and service. Highly recommended

The location of the hotel is perfect,almost on the Dam square. It is also close to the Amsterdam central so from and to airport or other cities are very easy. My room was quite big and clean . Bed was comfortable. I am happy that I choose Swiss hotel and recommend to Amsterdam visitors.

Muy bien ubicado, personal muy amable!!, desayuno delicioso, limpieza de habitación no muy buena. No cambian las sábanas. Tire por accidente unas gotas de café en la sabana y no me las cambiaron, 3 noches con la misma mancha! Entiendo que sean ambientalistas, lo aplaudo pero si esta si ió esperaría que se cambiara.

A very good hotel option for leisure or business travelers. Staff are friendly and helpful, location is very good being in the center of town, and there are numerous venues for eating and drinking very close to the hotel. I was on the 3rd floor which was nice and quiet. The breakfast was also of good standard with plenty of variety. I would also add that the room was fairly spacious, furnished to a good standard and was clean, especially, the bathroom area which was spotless. Overall 10/10 and well worth the price point.

The location is good, close to the train and shopping. However, you have to consider that there will be noise from outside as the hotel is at Dam Square. The rooms were not completely ready even though they said the rooms were ready for check-in. One of the rooms lacked complementary water, which we had to ask for on our way back in the evening. Later in the evening we discovered that the shower gel was completely empty, which should have been refilled between check-out and check-in. We had to call and ask for this as well the first evening. The water bottles had caps and there were no bottle openers in both rooms. We had to ask for this too. The second room lacked hand soap the first evening and we thought it would be refilled the next day. When we still didn't have hand soap in the evening, we had to ask for a refill. Room two was also poorly cleaned because we started coughing as soon as we came in. We asked for a more thorough cleaning but it didn't help. The breakfast was nothing a four star hotel should have. The selection consisted of thinly sliced very dry cheese (felt very plastic), ham/chicken topping, egg, bacon, sausage, two kinds of jam and 2-3 different kinds of bread but no bread knife to cut the bread. When we asked the staff they referred to the knife on the table so we got crumbled bread. Despite this I would like to commend the staff at the reception who were very nice and friendly.

Great hotel in a great location. Only complaint is with the tub/shower. It was very slippery and not a flat surface for taking a shower. Would have been great for a tub bath, but didn't use it for that. Adequate breakfast items.

Hotel was perfect for what we wanted. Great location and very clean and comfortable. Only issue we had was the temperature, the room was sweltering and we really couldn’t cool it as the aircon was set throughout the hotel to winter, so wouldn’t blow cold. This is the only reason I haven’t scored the hotel higher.

Staff were very kind and efficient. We really appreciate that a room was ready when we arrived before noon. Electric curtains randomly opened and closed multiple times at night, and we had to move rooms. Note, they *do not have operating air conditioning during winter months.* Our room was hot as Hades during our stay. We had the heat off and the windows open day and night, but the hotel was so hot it was still hard to sleep. Loved the central location.

I stayed three nights at the hotel. The location is perfect. You are walking distances from major attractions, train station, tram and buses. The room was small but had everything you need and the beds are very comfortable. The staff is excellent. I will definitely stay again during my next visit to Amsterdam.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The reception staff were professional, friendly and helpful at all times. We were fortunate enough to have an upgrade to a junior suite at the front of the hotel, and this made my husband’s birthday even more special. The location is perfect, close to the train station and numerous bars and restaurants. We would certainly stay at this hotel again.

We enjoyed this hotel very much. First and foremost for the front desk staff, they were friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful. In particular, Rob was fabulous in helping us and giving us useful advice.

A month after my stay, still no return the damage deposit if €50 per room per night. We had three rooms for 2 nights so this was €300. No damage was caused and the hotel agree they owe the refund (less city tax) I’ve called several times and emailed, but even though they promise the refund, nothing happens. I’ve never experienced this from any other hotel - very disappointing

We absolutely loved our stay here. Staff was very friendly and is fluent in many languages, which is impressive. Ms Miriam and Ms Nada at reception checked us in and checked us out a week later. They gave us lots of information about the surrounding area which was very helpful. The hotel breakfast was exceptional and well worth the cost. I will absolutely stay here again on our next visit!

Location of the property couldn't be better. Easy walk to the Train Station as well as all the City Center attractions. Staff at front desk extremely friendly and helpful Upon our arrival they help us set up a canal tour (and had a discount code for us to use) and answered many questions regarding places to go and see and do and eat. Room was clean and bed was very comfortable. Shower was great by European standards and enough closet space for a 1 week stay. I would definitely stay here next time we visit Amsterdam.

Staff at front desk extremely friendly and helpful Upon our arrival they help us set up a canal tour (and had a discount code for us to use) and answered many questions regarding places to go and see and do and eat. Room was clean and bed was very comfortable. Shower was great by European standards and enough closet space for a 1 week stay. I would definitely stay here next time we visit Amsterdam.

I stayed at the Swissôtel in Istanbul several years ago and was truly impressed—it was a stunning property with exceptional ambiance and amenities. Naturally, I expected a similar experience at the Swissôtel Amsterdam. Unfortunately, it fell short in several key areas. The hotel itself is quite small, and the restaurant and breakfast offerings lacked warmth and appeal. The overall atmosphere simply didn’t match the elegance or comfort I had come to associate with the brand. It’s not even comparable. That said, I want to acknowledge the staff—they were genuinely wonderful and did their best to make our stay pleasant. Still, I left feeling disappointed.

Right next to Dam Square, plenty of food and shopping options. Walkable to canal tours, central station and even Jordan area. Can be a bit noisy because we are next to the busiest street in Amsterdam.

Loved the location right next to Dam Square. Able to walk to all attractions. Room was very large for a European hotel. Many restaurants, shopping around hotel. Got in at 6:00 am after overnight flight and our room was ready.

Hotel was great and convenient but the restaurant wasn't that great. The house salad I ask for vinegar and oil and they gave me oil with too many pickles and croutons. The catelloni pizza didn't have any sauce on it and it was dry and half the items in it were not heated or cooked so there was no flavor to the pizza . It needed pizza sauce or marinara sauce.

A very good hotel option for leisure or business travelers. Staff are friendly and helpful, location is very good being in the center of town, and there are numerous venues for eating and drinking very close to the hotel. I was on the 3rd floor which was nice and quiet. The breakfast was also of good standard with plenty of variety. I would also add that the room was fairly spacious, furnished to a good standard and was clean, especially, the bathroom area which was spotless. Overall 10/10 and well worth the price point.

The location is good, close to the train and shopping. However, you have to consider that there will be noise from outside as the hotel is at Dam Square. The rooms were not completely ready even though they said the rooms were ready for check-in. One of the rooms lacked complementary water, which we had to ask for on our way back in the evening. Later in the evening we discovered that the shower gel was completely empty, which should have been refilled between check-out and check-in. We had to call and ask for this as well the first evening. The water bottles had caps and there were no bottle openers in both rooms. We had to ask for this too. The second room lacked hand soap the first evening and we thought it would be refilled the next day. When we still didn't have hand soap in the evening, we had to ask for a refill. Room two was also poorly cleaned because we started coughing as soon as we came in. We asked for a more thorough cleaning but it didn't help. The breakfast was nothing a four star hotel should have. The selection consisted of thinly sliced very dry cheese (felt very plastic), ham/chicken topping, egg, bacon, sausage, two kinds of jam and 2-3 different kinds of bread but no bread knife to cut the bread. When we asked the staff they referred to the knife on the table so we got crumbled bread. Despite this I would like to commend the staff at the reception who were very nice and friendly.

I highly recommend staying at this property! The location is amazing, quick and easy walk from the train station, easily walkable to lots of shopping, museum district, parks, and restaurants. Super clean, and friendly and helpful staff. The room was very nice and clean, the bathroom is large and comfortable. I would definitely stay here again!

This is a good hotel. A few design flaws stop it from being great, but there’s nothing really the hotel can do about it without a redesign. Pros: Great location. Even though it’s on a main road, it didn’t affect my sleep. The room is completely blackout at night. Perfect! The staff are polite. The room has a fridge, and good air conditioning. There is a safe available for use. Cons: The plug sockets are on the opposite side of the room to the bed. This means you can’t charge your phone while in bed, and any alarms you set will wake up the room next to you before you hear it. The staff were nice but didn’t give me any information about breakfast/dinner/room service or any other services that may have been on offer, so I didn’t actually know breakfast was an option until my last day. You have to reconnect to the WiFi every time you return to the room. Overall a good hotel.
