We stayed there with the intent of being out all day and just needing beds to sleep. The rooms air conditioning was so nice to come back to at the end of a hot day. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We stayed there as a family with 2 kids and it was perfect for us. The only down side we found was the room did not come with a mini fridge and they do not allow food in the hotel rooms.

Excellent location - couple of blocks from Central Train station with restaurants all around. however rooms are a bit cramped. Bathrooms are small too and the one we had has the ceiling diagonally sloping so we had to stoop down. No elevators and the stairs are steep so if you have heavy luggages make sure you can carry them.

Seen lots of bad reviews but honestly this place was spot on for anyone needing big attractions within walking distance. The room was clean and had a nice bathroom with walk in shower no complaints at all. Free hot drinks 24/7 and vending machines in reception. We were greeted by a great receptionist who explained everything very well. Even when we left another receptionist asked if we remembered our phones and passports as he could tell we had been to coffee shop. Overall 5 stars from me great for a fair priced stay in the city centre

El hotel está en buena ubicación, muy cerca de la central de trenes que conecta con el aeropuerto (5 min a pie). Las habitaciones son suficientes para dormir, los baños están reformados. Tienen cortesías de café y té en el lobby y resguardo de equipaje. Un punto a considerar es que no tiene elevador y las escaleras, por ser edificios antiguos son muy inclinadas y angostas, no son aptas para personas con dificultades de movilidad o de la tercera edad, cuesta un poco subir con el equipaje. En general está bien por la ubicación y para descansar.

Solid ! Safe - 24/7 reception. Conveniently located. Easy to get to the sightseeings, transport available at the door steps. Note: Very steep, narrow stairs, if any health issues, be aware of this. No issues for me but some people might find the stairs challenging. I would stay at this hotel again, and highly recommend it.

Last minute booking due to cancelled train back to London so arrived late in the evening and left early in the morning. Receptionist who checked us in was very friendly. The room was clean but did not have a lot of space to walk around. The condition of the toilet was ok. Free coffee machine for guests. The hotel was quiet which was nice for a good nights rest

There is bed bug infestation in our room! Bathroom smells like urine, we tried to clean and disinfect it ourselves but the smells still lingers! So filthy! Bed Linens are also dirty and smells used, it seems they don’t change or laundry their bedsheets. Terrible. We want our money back!!!!

The area was great and the staff was helpful. However the cleanliness was not up to par. The walls of the room were dirty and stained. The sheets had yellow stains and there was a used cigarette on the floor under the bed. We do not smoke and we booked a nonsmoking room. The cigarette was there when we arrived and still on the floor after we left after they came into our room to “clean” it everyday. I would not stay here again

Definitely a no frills kind of place, if you're fine with that. Perfect location for exploring Amsterdam, just steps away from Centraal and within walking distance of many of the major attractions in Amsterdam. Like the other reviews have said though, this place is quite old and run down. It isn't clean (lots of dust on the floors, stains on the sheets and towels, and the bathroom smells because of the old plumbing). We brought our own sheets though. 😅 The stairs are steep, so keep in mind if you have a lot of bags. Also, it's very very loud at all hours with very thin walls so bring earplugs!

The hotel was centrally located..but that was the only perk. The front door is always open to a very busy street. The staff is not very helpful and a bit rude. They always say “I’ll have to speak to my manager”. The manger is never in. The rooms are tiny with limited places to put anything. There is mold in the bathroom. We found bed bugs twice. Let them fumigate once and found them again the next day.

Excellent location. The room was clean but the aheets were stained and the air-conditioning worked minimally. The common areas were dingy. The stairs are super steep and narrow and there is no lift. The shower was great and we were happily surprised with how clean the room was after seeing the common areas.

We had a major bedbug infestation in our room. I have at least 50 bites and we were squishing them and blood was coming out of them. We let the front desk know and I submitted pictures. The room was extremely small for 3 people. We didn’t have anywhere to even put our suitcases. The stairs are very narrow and steep and hard to navigate especially with a suitcase.

BED BUGS INFESTATION!!! Me and my friends got bitten all over our body and when we removed the sheets we wanted to throw up!! Stay away from this place if you don’t want to have a terrible time. On top of that, This hotel doesn’t have an elevator so good luck climbing to your room.

It's a budget hotel so I didnt have high expectations. I arrived to dirty sheets with hair. I asked the staff to change them which thry did. The whole hotel was smelly. The bathroom smelled really bad after showering and had mold. The mattress was very very uncomfortable and caused me lots of back pain. The window and door are not insulated and have gaps so you hear everyone and everyone hears you back like you are in one room.

No frills hotel but wouldn’t have an issue staying again. You don’t get much for your money hotel wise in Amsterdam because everyone want to go there! I had a room that was basically in the Reception so I could hear all the phone calls, the radio, and everyone wandering in and out and their conversations - so unless you have a pair of noise cancelling headphones (which I did) then you’d maybe won’t to request not getting one of those rooms. Who goes to Amsterdam to sleep anyway?

Typical of basic budget hotels in the centrum, rooms are very small and pretty basic. Hotel is generally clean and well kept. No elevator so be prepared to carry bags up narrow and steep stairs (typical of most hotels in this area). Staff friendly and helpful.

I liked the location near the station. The street outside was filthy and very busy… there are much nicer parts of Amsterdam! Room was very tiny, basically just a bed. Bathroom was very small but reasonably well updated. The room was very noisy with constant banging of doors closing and voices of other occupants. Steep narrow staircases with no elevator. Luckily I’m fit and healthy… many people would have a hard time negotiating the stairs I’m sure, especially with luggage. Overall the price was very high for what I got!

We booked For one night somewhere to rest our heads after a busy day sightseeing. Hotel reception was a little hectic. Room had 3 small singles which was fine for one night but any longer would have been a challenge. Room space could be re designed to optimise space. So many bedside tables and things in the way. Beds comfy. Would have liked extra pillows. Bathroom great and shower was really powerful. Great location. No lift just lots of stairs but We didn’t mind. Would stay again if we needed a place to stay in the city.

It's in a great location, just minutes from the train station. The room was lovely with a big comfy bed. The bathroom was very clean with an amazing shower and plenty of towels. Free tea and coffee available. I'd definitely stay again.

The front desk people were very nice and helpful, so no complaint there. It’s right on the main drag outside of Centraal Station so it’s bustling and just a very dirty street/area in general. Saw 3 different people urinating on walls within 50 yards of the place (not their fault, obviously). Just something to note if you are coming here with your children. It’s a very busy hotel so I don’t know how they’d be able to keep it up any better until it slows down after summer. My room was on second floor and was so small, the bathroom was very small and floor wasn’t as clean as I’d have liked. The window opened up to a roof of some sort so previous travelers had used the area for smoking…curtains were stained with shoe prints and smelled of cigarettes because of the butts left behind on the roof. The air conditioner worked well. I wouldn’t stay here again just because I don’t like the area as much as others we visited. It’s very easy to get into city center from anywhere in town, so there’s really no reason to stay in this area unless you like noise and public urination and drugs.

Fabulous, very helpful staff. Housekeeping cleaned our room daily and it was immaculate. Free coffee and tea machine in the lobby. I asked for a room on the first floor when booking, and they were able to accommodate me. Just 1 flight of stairs up to lobby. Since we were right off reception, the room did get loud, but we could sleep though it. Very convenient location

At 4 AM, a staff member came banging on the doors to every room on my floor, accusing guests of smoking. We woke up and heard him doing this to our neighbors, then he banged on our door. He said our smoke alarm was going off, but we don’t smoke and were sleeping and I never heard any alarm. He demanded that I open the door and turn the lights on, my girlfriend and I were asleep and undressed and he made us turn the lights on to prove we weren’t smoking. Absolutely ridiculous. After we opened the door and he saw we were telling the truth, he just walked away without apologizing or anything. If you have this big of an issue with smokers, you need a better way to deal with it, you can’t just lie about hearing an alarm and harass everyone in the building while they are sleeping.

Seen lots of bad reviews but honestly this place was spot on for anyone needing big attractions within walking distance. The room was clean and had a nice bathroom with walk in shower no complaints at all. Free hot drinks 24/7 and vending machines in reception. We were greeted by a great receptionist who explained everything very well. Even when we left another receptionist asked if we remembered our phones and passports as he could tell we had been to coffee shop. Overall 5 stars from me great for a fair priced stay in the city centre

Last minute booking due to cancelled train back to London so arrived late in the evening and left early in the morning. Receptionist who checked us in was very friendly. The room was clean but did not have a lot of space to walk around. The condition of the toilet was ok. Free coffee machine for guests. The hotel was quiet which was nice for a good nights rest

The location of the hotel is near Dam Square, is a very popular tourist location, very dirty and noisy. The hotel itself doesn’t have an elevator, so we had to climb 3 floors in stairs, with suitcases full and heavy. The hotel is on top of a Steakhouse restaurant, if you open the windows just a little bit the whole room smells like smoked meet. And there isn’t any air conditioner or fans in the bedroom, it is also so small and the bedsheets had holes in them. The sink in the bathroom was clogged and the water took a long time to drain. The shower was very small and the water splashed all over the bathroom, because the shower glass had a crack in it. We used the bathroom rug to try and dry it but it didn’t work very well. The maid left the wet rug there and didn’t change any of the towels and there wasn’t any face (hand) towels. There wasn’t a mini fridge for water. The lighting were very poor. The location was in the city centre, good thing because it’s a walking distance from every main point of the city.

I liked the location near the station. The street outside was filthy and very busy… there are much nicer parts of Amsterdam! Room was very tiny, basically just a bed. Bathroom was very small but reasonably well updated. The room was very noisy with constant banging of doors closing and voices of other occupants. Steep narrow staircases with no elevator. Luckily I’m fit and healthy… many people would have a hard time negotiating the stairs I’m sure, especially with luggage. Overall the price was very high for what I got!

Hotel righr on the Damrak, easy to get to from central station. Tram stops not far away too, restaurant/pub right downstairs with discount offered for hotel guests. Plenty bars and places to eat within a stones throw. Hotel is in an old building so there are lots of steep and narrow staird so bear this in mind if you're not too able. Could hear doors slamming pretty loudly (due to people being inconsiderate and letting them slam behind them) but apart from that no trouble at all. Fresh towels daily. Room not in the best nick and needs a proper scrub and deep clean but for 3 days in the centre it was good value.

Right outside the hotel on a busy but seemingly safe street you are inundated with restaurants and shopping. Boat tours right across the road, and a short minutes walk to the main station. Loved our stay here and would book again!

It's in a great location, just minutes from the train station. The room was lovely with a big comfy bed. The bathroom was very clean with an amazing shower and plenty of towels. Free tea and coffee available. I'd definitely stay again.

The staff were very nice, the room was clean. Bathroom a bit small but ok for a short trip. They stored our luggage for us on the last day. I was able to put cheese I had brought into the reception fridge as no fridge in room. Unlimited tea/coffee-machine in reception and a very central location. The only negative I would say is the room my daughter was staying in was very dark and only had two spotlights in it more lights could be fitted over the beds etc

This hotel is centrally located. We were able to get everywhere except the Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh Museum in about 15 minutes or less on foot. Since the hotel is on a main street, noise did filter up to our room on the third floor. Some things to keep in mind: 1. Thoroughly research the type of room you are picking. Not all rooms have windows and some rooms have teeny tiny showers. However, the water pressure and temperature was excellent. 2. There is NOT an elevator in this hotel. I think the stairs are from the original house so they are narrow and twist around tightly between floors. 3. The staff are lovely. We had a few things come up during our stay and they helped us as much as they could. These people were the highlight of staying in this hotel.
