Excellent hotel on one of the nicest canals in Amsterdam. The hotel has a superb courtyard garden, which is a beautiful sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle of the city. A wonderful place to stay in a great area of the city.

We loved how the Pulitzer is a whole block of classic Amsterdam row houses. We also appreciated the quiet neighborhood after spending our days walking though the crowds of people thoughout Amsterdam. Highly recommend taking a canal boat ride on The Tourist.

Staff were great. Unique hotel due to encompassing a number of canal houses. Also felt like a maze going to and from room. We were on the 3rd floor, took elevator to third floor, climbed two sets of stairs and walked outside a short distance to get to room. Thankful for the staff who brought our luggage up. Nice bar and restaurant

Hotel generally excellent. Only things which let it down were machinery (boiler?) noise in room overnight and lift noise during the day. Also very difficult to find anywhere to get a pre-dinner drink in the hotel on a Sat night - both bar and lobby bar were full and not able to book.

Everything about the stay at the Pulitzer was amazing. From the checkin where they were able to get me a room early in the morning (In was traveling from NY on a red eye), to the 24 hour in room dining, to the wonderful spa, a clean gym and one of the best cocktail bars in Amsterdam, this hotel had everything. It is also very conveniently located to exploring Amsterdam and is my favorite part of town (Jordaan). What makes the hotel truly exceptional though is the staff: every single person I encountered was courteous, helpful and positive. The service here compares on par to the best 5 star hotels I have stayed at.

Welcoming staff on arrival/ check-in. Good location for getting around central Amsterdam. Interesting way the traditional buildings had been integrated around courtyards, giving a unique feel. Rooms decorated to a high standard and high level of comfort, with individual touches such as the picture on the wall giving the history of the original house/ building in which the room was located. Spotlessly clearn throughout. Good outside seating areas (although we couldn't make much use of them in the cold/ wet March weather).

Wir hatten zunächst das gebuchte Zimmer bezogen. Das Zimmer roch jedoch total muffig und im Teppich waren Flecken. Nach kurzer Rücksprache mit dem Empfang bekamen wir ein neues Zimmer, welches auch größer und heller war. Die Betten waren sehr bequem. Das Hotel ist in die Jahre gekommen und hat seine besten Zeiten hinter sich. Aus unserer Sicht keine 5 Sterne. Das Frühstück ist eher durchschnittlich und bietet nur beschränkte Auswahlmöglichkeiten im Vergleich zu anderen 5 Sterne Hotels in Amsterdam (Wir sind regelmäßig in Amsterdam.) Das Personal im Frühstücksbereich wirkt genervt und teilweise überfordert. Wir hatten das Gefühl, uns dafür entschuldigen zu müssen, dass wir Gast sind und etwas bestellen möchten. Was uns auch verwundert hat, dass Gäste in Badelatschen Zugang zum Frühstück hatten und dies auch geduldet wurde. Der Aufenthalt in Amsterdam war trotzdem schön wie immer, aber in diesem Hotel werden wir nicht wieder übernachten.

Beautiful, historic hotel, in fantastic location. walking distance to all sites of interest (museums, Anne Frank, nightlife etc). We had a classic Queen room and it was VERY small and dark. Very poor lighting in room and bathroom and difficult to apply makeup (vanity mirror too far over the sink). We stayed 3 nights and there was NO nightly turndown service. Morning of checkout, the cleaning person opened the door and tried to enter at 8am, thankfully safety latch was on. then 10 min later, he proceeded to knock until I answered the door. We were hoping to sleep in before our next destination given that check out is at 12!!! So why were we forced to wake up at 8??? Not a restful stay I was hoping for. Breakfast quite lame. Beautiful ambiance and setting, however, they kept running out of items and each time it would take a while to restock. Buffet quite poor selection (several pastries and bread, two cheeses, one bowl of tomatoes and cucumbers, salmon, ham, berries, yogurt… that’s about it. For 800$ per night…I expected WAY more from this property.

Desk said they would email when the room was ready and they didn’t. My wife requested an iron which never came. The room was really nothing special considering its “5 star” rating. Room had an unusual smell akin to a wet dog. Next time I’ll just select a Marriott property. Bartenders and wait staff were great. Didn’t receive any perks or upgrades but not sure we were supposed to.

Eclectic hotel consisting of many different buildings, with a nice inner garden area. Our room was noisy, as it was in a major pathway area and had stairs inside the room. Lots of trip hazards at thresholds. Be aware most European hotels don't have stand alone showers, which requires you to climb into a rather high tub to take a shower..not many grab handles for securing. Becoming very aware of this for senior citizens which are the ones that can basically afford expensive hotels. Staff was exceptional. The covered boat tour of the city, available through the hotel is a must do, especially with the captain who is knowledgeable and charming. Would book again but be more picky about my room.

I loved the location of this property - walkable to wonderful shops, restaurants, etc. The room was lovely and the staff was excellent. I would just note for any future renovations that it is quite difficult for anyone over 5'10" to use the shower without bending over. Overall, we loved this property and would return again.

Room was fantastic. Clean spacious and had a really nice personal touch! All the staff was very helpful, pleasant and attentive. The property is great, wonderful canals views from the room. They have a cute little court yard that is well maintained. Loved the teas and stroopwafles that were left in our rooms every day!

The room was nice but rather dark as it had a slanting roof and no central light. I also hate when the switch to the light to the bathroom is on the outside of the room as you can’t access it in the middle of the night Without waking your partner. There was also no real comfortable chair to sit in.

Amsterdam was amazing—the city is beautiful, and the hotel is in a great central location. We stayed in the Collector Suite, which was stunning and very comfortable. The only disappointment we had was with the concierge, who wasn’t able to arrange a private vehicle on short notice; we were told they require at least six hours’ notice. We also felt that no one really took the time to explain the hotel’s amenities, so we had to figure things out ourselves. The property layout can be a bit confusing, and finding your way to and from the lobby takes some getting used to. Overall, the stay was pleasant, but the staff could be a bit more proactive and helpful to make guests feel more supported.

Hotel Factory. Young and inexperienced staff in training. Room was not ready until 5:00 although we asked for early check in on an overnight flight. It is a Viking river cruise hotel that deals with high volumes of travelers. Not a 5 star hotel in terms of service or amenities.

It was excellent we just had issues with our first room as it had stairs and would be difficult for my 81y/o mother. They were able to arrange a more convenient room. Staff very friendly and efficient. It’s a very cozy and interesting hotel. Breakfast is excellent and location is perfect.

The Pulitzer is stylish, very comfortable, great rooms and the best front desk people ever (especially Henry). From the minute you walk in, you are made so welcome by the helpful doormen. Even when we left, the doorman, on hearing we were walking to the station said- I’ll get you some water … still or sparkling? And came back with lovely chilled bottles We’d obviously checked out by then so were ‘ex-guests’ but treated as if just arriving. Amazing. I absolutely love this hotel and will never now stay anywhere else in Amsterdam

Really surprised this was a 5 star hotel. Not a great experience overall and will probably not be back. My flight was delayed and i called to let them know i would be arriving a day late which they told me no problem, however they still put me as a no show and had to go through a whole process to reinstate the reservation. Reception was extremely friendly, but rather slow at the same time. We would find ourselves waiting about 10 minutes or so before even getting called up with only one person before us. They were out of steamers, which wasn't that big a deal since they had irons, just bummed thay I couldnt use one when they had suggested it for me. Finally, they did not register that i prepaid with expedia and proceeded to charge me for the entire stay for a second time so now i am down an extra $2500 dollars while i figure out how to get a refund on it.

This is a hotel that weaves over 20 canal houses into a very unique hospitality experience. We opted for a room that overlooked one of the two canals on which it is situated. All the rooms are different which makes them interesting. Comfortables beds, though pillows could be softer. Free bottle of champagne in suite was nice surprise. Loved the tea and pressed coffee set up in room for mornings or chilly afternoons. A steamer in the closet is better than ironing board. Room was quiet for outside noise, but some mechanical noises but not awful. Room service was good and Janz was excellent for breakfast and dinner. Area around hotel was great boutique shopping. Would return to this hotel.

My favorite hotel in Amsterdam. Great service, great location, comfortable and authentic spaces. Breakfast needs to be better. Limited choices for a 5 star and overcooked food multiple visits for $50 a head is not worth it. Skip the add on when booking. Lunch and dinner are fantastic.

Beautiful hotel. Small but really nice bed and bedding. Good lobby food and good food at bar/restaurant. They seemed to have an issue one night when we tried to order room service. Took over an hour to get it and i heard others complaining but that was literally a small issue. Concierge was extraordinary. So kind and helpful. Would stay again any day

Hotel was in a great location!! They have a wonderful interior courtyard restaurant . Closes at 9:30? Not sure why as it is the best part of the hotel. Staff at front desk was great but restaurant staff was rude and uninterested. All in all a good hotel that needs service improvements.
