Lovely property with excellent rooms and very good pub and restaurant.

The room was fantastic, but a shame that there was no parking available considering the price - on one night we saw a man sleeping in his van in the car park. It would be good to have a system that prioritizes hotel guests for spaces over pub patrons like these.

Lovely English country hotel. Excellent restaurant and lobby area. No air conditioning, so the rooms in mid-summer are very hot; fans provided but inadequate.

The property and room are gorgeous! They also provided a dog bed, bowls and a lovely gift for my pup! It is a perfect English town high street pub hotel-but much better appointed than other pub stays. I would suggest staying there in cooler months as it was a bit too warm.

Great location, restaurant was superb and other options within walking distance. Only limited parking, but free parking across the road.

The room was very clean, bedding was of good quality thou I prefer not so high pillows, plenty of coffee and tea and complimentary still and sparkling water. Biggest problem is lack of space for parking, it’s on a first come first served basis and quests had to park in every small area and not in dedicated spaces, making it very tight to manoeuvre. I didn’t notice an electric charge point, not saying there isn’t one but I would enquire before booking. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Lovely comfortable hotel right in the middle of Dorking. Lovely welcoming touches (welcome note in the room, complimentary sweet treats, fresh milk for teas etc.); very good a la carte breakfast; comfortable room with good radio and TV, and pod coffeemaker (plastic free pods); lovely toiletries in refillable bottles in bathroom; all the satgg we met were excellent. It suited usnvery well for our stay. Be aware that there are narrow and fairly steep stairs to many of the rooms, so check that out with them before staying if that's an issue for you

Excellent hotel with really nicely appointed rooms. Very nice touch with hand made sweets in the room and great location for the local shops although on site parking is a little limited.

Gorgeous hotel and the room (really fancy room) was very stylish. Bath is very slim and there were finger mark in the bath salts. Lovely clean bed linen and towels and a very comfy mattress. However there is no room service, service in the bar was painfully slow and breakfast service was slow. It took fifteen minutes to be noticed after I had been seated although to be fair the lovely waitress did apologise and treated me like a queen thereafter. The breakfast it self was very average - bacon was tasty but the rind was raw and it was cold; the poached eggs were almost hard boiled, and the fruit salad contained black banana and brown apple and was pretty tasteless. My top peeve though was paying £200 for a luxury night’s getaway and there was no air conditioning in the room. It was 30 degrees on check in and check out and the heat in the room was insufferable. I pay £60 to stay in a premier inn with air conditioning and a better breakfast…. That said the hotel and pub is lovely and my room was spotlessly clean and very nicely appointed. I just wouldn’t stay there in the summer…

Great place to stay. Check in was quick,efficient and friendly. The room was spacious ,spotless and very comfortable.Had lunch in the courtyard outside which was lovely and dinner in the restaurant in the evening ,also delicious. Apparently Raymond Blanc keeps a close eye on things in the kitchen! Found all the staff very efficient and friendly.

These are recently opened rooms in a pub The design of the rooms although pretty is completely impractical for a clean easily maintained hotel room The cleaning staff are awful no clean towels bins unemptied , floor unclean , sink blocked with slime and hair in short if this is going to work both staff and rooms need a professional make over

This is a centuries old (coaching?)inn which has been sympathetically renovated. Nice touches in the room included crafted chocs and a coffee machine.

The Hotel was so clean the staff was so helpful and i was blown away with all the written message and the compliments was amazing it was the best Hotel i have stayed in thank you

Cute. Quiet. They left water and a few sweets. Only real issues were curtains that didnt block side light and sewer smell from bathroom.

Enjoyed a lovely one night stay at this beautiful hotel. Lovely room which was very clean and exceptionally comfortable. All facilities were great. Staff were very friendly and accomodating. Will definitely return.

a double bed in a hotel should typically be accessible from both sides for guest convenience, with space to get in and out from each side, even if the bed isn't a king-size. For the best guest experience and comfort, especially for couples, there should be enough room for two people to enter and exit the bed easily without having to climb over each other or a wall, which can be a problem with a double bed if it's placed too tightly against a wall. There was also a step between room and bathroom was very dangerous in dark at night so had to leave light on. Tv didn't work. control needed new batteries which once in bed wasn't an option as far as we were concerned I had to climb over my wife 3 times during the night who has mobility issues waking her to use the bathroom which made our stay very uncomfortable

Can’t fault my time at the White Horse. Food was great, room fantastic, even complimentary snacks. 10/10

It was only an overnight stay to get me closer to Goodwood festival of speed but the room was lovely and spacious and very comfortable.

The room was at the front and let in quite a bit of street lighting around the curtains

We booked a snug room which was indeed snug (one side of the bed is right next to the wall) but very comfortable and beautifully decorated with lovely chocolates!

Such beautiful design of the room making it warm and cosy. Thoughtful touches made it so welcoming. Loved the radio playing when I arrived, the little note and some treats. Warm lighting. Cosy bedding and earplugs. Fresh milk instead of UHT. Absolutely loved this room. The guy on reception was lovely. Couldn't fault it. Highly recommend.

The service was to perfection all the through to my bedroom. There was even a note welcoming me personally and chocolate.

I am writing to share feedback from our recent stay at the White Horse, Dorking. While there were aspects we enjoyed, certain elements of our experience did not meet our expectations. To begin on a positive note, we were truly impressed by the room itself. It was beautifully designed, comfortable, and added a sense of luxury to our stay. However, we encountered some disappointments with the dining services. The breakfast service was terribly slow; we waited a significant amount of time to be acknowledged to be seated then a further 15 minutes before our order was taken. It took 25 minutes to be served our drinks, which was just juice, and our meal was finally served 45 minutes later. When breakfast was served, one of the items was wrong but the response was that it would take another 20 minutes to replace which made us feel like an inconvenience to them. There was no communication from staff that service would take so long and overall it impacted our morning plans. Additionally, during dinner service the evening before, the one menu item my wife and I were both looking forward to was unavailable, however we weren’t told this until we tried to order. When ordering dessert we were then declined one of our choices again due to lack of availability. We believe these are areas for potential improvement, and I wanted to share this in hopes of enhancing the experience for future guests.

The refurb is smart and lots of small details have been thought about. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Such a quaint hotel! Check in was friendly. Since there were two sets of stairs to climb with our luggage, we would have appreciated help to our room as I’m no longer a Spring chicken. This is my only complaint. There was a bright pink old fashioned radio softly playing music when we entered. A personally addressed hand written welcome card and complimentary treats and beverages provided. Two luggage racks were extremely appreciated. In our three weeks of traveling, only one other hotel provided a luggage rack. The heated towel rack in the bathroom was already on with the towels nice and warm. My favourite thing, even though we didn’t have a dog with us, was the “Stick Library” basket by the outdoor dog wash station. This hotel understands stepping up service! Even our check out was enjoyable. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Even before I arrived, the Team were a bunch of legends on the customer service front, my snug room was a delight and the bed was super comfy. A top little find, would definitely recommend!

A beautiful building. Close to Box Hill for Stepping Stones Walk which is what we wanted. Also on bus route. Lovely ambience. Beautiful

This gem is on Main Street. Had so much character. A fabulous Pub with restaurant attached. The property was spacious and unique. The room was decorated so lovely and such personal touches and quite spacious. Staff was wonderful.

In general this was a nice establishment to stay. However room 24 is right above the vehicle entrance to this old coaching inn which has a cobbled surface. At 5.15 we were awoke by the sound of the bin men moving wheelie bins in and out of the hotel as the room is immediately above the entrance. When they eventually stopped the general traffic kept us awake. Apart from that one side of the double bed is against the wall making going to the loo in the middle of the night a bit of an issue for someone. The food was good and at reasonable prices.

Amazing property, refurb is top class with lovely rooms. High street is lovely with plenty of other pubs and restaurants nearby. If you can’t get a space in the White Horse car park there is ample parking nearby.

After many years living in central Dorking and now living elsewhere, this is our ‘go to’ hotel when we visit family in the area. Since it’s refurbishment it is a nice place to stay and within easy walking of restaurants and shops on Dorking High Street. Parking is limited on site, but both M&S and Sainsbury’s have paid car parking and the hours are 8am - 6pm Mon - Sat. We prefer Sainsbury’s - come out of the hotel, turn left and go up the first small road on the left - it is signposted. The road curves right and then you enter the car park at the back of the shop. Avoid the short stay parking around the shop entrance. If you park on a Saturday afternoon, you pay for the few hours up till 6pm and then you can park right through to 8am on Monday morning. There are plenty of restaurants in Dorking, but our ‘go to’ ones that have been around for a very long time are Dorking Brasserie for Indian food and The New Fountain Garden for a Chinese meal. Pre drinks in the nearby the Kings Arms for both. Table reservations should be made at busy times. A nice walk from the hotel to Denbies Vineyard is available - walk across the park and enter via a footpath which starts at Yew Tree Road. A 15 - 20 min drive away is the lovely Friday Street village - very small, but with a good car park and with a bit of research you will find a circular walk via the Leith Hill tower where, last time we visited, there were drinks available from a small kiosk at the foot of the tower.

The room was newly refurbished so was in very good condition and the bed was very comfortable. Only downside was no control of the temperature in the room. We ate with friends in the restaurant in the evening and reviews were mixed with a vegetarian meal being unavailable although there was only a choice of 3 and no house red wine. The surroundings however were very pleasant.

The hotel is first class, staff very friendly, my only criticism was breakfast which was hugely over priced for what you got, it’s ok the price if the portions reflected it, but it was like eating at primary school again but paying top dollar for it

Absolutely beautiful interiors, friendly staff and little touches that make all the difference. The breakfast was delicious. I would definitely stay here again.
