The hotel is very well located, a very pretty 10 minute walk to the old town. The view is perfect. The museum of modern art is in the doorstep as is Banje Beach The staff are wonderful. They were helpful, friendly, and resolved little niggles with efficient, perfect customer service. Breakfast was excellent, both the hot food to order and the buffet. The variety and quality was appreciated. We only had one evening meal at the hotel. The food was very good and the wine was amazing, but, even for Dubrovnik, the price was high. Some of the Michelin recommended restaurants in town offer better value. Our first allocated room was not properly cleaned (sand all across the floor) and had a heating fault, but this was dealt with promptly and efficiently, which we were more than happy with. Spa facilities are well kept and beautiful, but the water in the hot tub and side pool with massage jets are really too cold for me to enjoy properly. The treatments were among the best I have ever experienced though. The outdoor areas by the sea have suffered significant storm damage, but I have no way of knowing how long ago. At the time of review, there were no hand rails to the sea entry or outdoor tidal pool, and the surfaces were very slippery with algae. Overall, one of the nicest hotel breaks we have had. The hotel is one of the best 5 star hotels we have ever stayed at. But given that, there were just a couple of niggles with the building and grounds.

An excellent 5 star hotel in Dubrovnik, from the exceptional welcoming reception, to the always friendly and service minded staff and of course, amazing luxurious rooms, in our case with a private terasse, beautiful spa and a must mention, the hotel exclusive direct sea access with sun chairs, service and absolute closeness to the Adriatic sea right at the doorstep of the hotel. All and all, a must stay in Dubrovnik, only a few minutes away from the historic Old town and all the buzz it is both calm and serene at Excelsior. We'll be back. Thank you to all the staff for working hard and making it a memorable stay! Few notes: Try out the hotel restaurants, they are fantastic. A room with a terrace is nice but not a must have, try booking in the villa but if you have to choose there are plenty of outdoor space anyway at the hotel facilities. Enjoy the amazing breakfast. Great location! This hotel has an amazing view and great breakfast. We were sad one of the restaurants by the sea was not open due to weather but overall great hotel. Wonderful and relaxing indoor pool and saunas! Totally enjoyed our stay.

The place to stay while visiting Dubrovnik without a doubt! Reserved on-site parking. Short walk to Old Town. Awesome private waterfront!!! Super customer service. Beautiful immaculately clean property with very friendly professional staff always ready to assist with a smile. I just can't say enough good things about this property, I will be back and can't wait to return next year!

The spa was gorgeous and having the Roman bath and sauna open to all guests was a great experience you don’t get in most hotels. Got a massage with a great discount for being a guest of the hotel, would highly recommend.

Incredible hotel, spa, ocean front resort with beautiful views and exceptional service from an amazing staff that pays attention to detail. The food is excellent, bar well stocked with top shelf selections. The concierge service is very responsive and the Adriatic Luxury Services staff is amazing at booking your private boat, and transfer reservations. Walk to old town is 10 minutes and the views from the hotel are breathtaking.

Excellent location and superb views from our room. The room was perhaps closed during the winter period and had not been aired. Therefore had dust, my husband has severe dust allergy and really suffered the 3 nights. In addition the AC was not working so we had to be given a fan. For which the hotel kindly refunded one nights stay. This is a leading hotel and they need to ensure that rooms are functioning well and are clean, Dust free and that basics of cooling is working fine. We gave detailed feedback and they were receptive which was great.

Just returned from a four night stay in Dubrovnik. The Excelsior was 1st class - great service, facilities and above all else an amazing location. Our room was classed as partial sea view but it looked right along Banje beach at the Old Town which to our minds was better than a view out to sea looking at Lokrum Island. The room itself was a superior double in the new part of the hotel and we couldn’t fault it. Extremely comfortable super king bed, plenty of space and great en suite - all spotlessly clean. The windows slid open to give unobstructed view of the amazing vista along the beach. Great spa facilities and excellent breakfast. All the staff were friendly and very helpful whenever we required any assistance. It’s not the cheapest place to stay, but for a short indulgent break it would be hard to beat.

Loved this property from the moment you walk into the lobby and have a full view of the old city and the bay. The rooms in the newer building are nicer and more modern, buy I would recommend to stay in the older building with a sea view. It is one of the best hotel views I have seen. The deck on the water is the best part of the hotel. We spent most of the time there. The restaurant on the water was average food not up to par for a 5 star hotel. We did mention this at checkout and we got a credit for the lunch we had there. The hotel is only a 10 minute walk to the town.

Super Firendly Hotel Staff. Marko checked me in. He was amazing. He helped me the whole time. Let me do a Late check out too! Room had the most amazing View. The design of the room was amazing. Location of Hotel was the best. 7 mint walk to old town.

Property generally lovely however at the rate charged the two rooms we were placed in should not even be in inventory. We were looking directly at a wall with exposed pipes.

Fantastisk hotell, perfekt plassering rett utenfor gamlebyen. Ingenting å klage på, foruten serveringen på stranda, her tok det veldig lang tid å få både bestilt og levert mat/drikke, og drinkene levde ikke opp til standarden på hotellet. Drinkene var mer noe man hadde forventet på et simpelt all inclusive hotell, ikke på et 5* hotell. Uansett var det en veldig god opplevelse, og vi bor gjerne på dette hotellet igjen i fremtiden.
Fantastisk hotell, perfekt plassering rett utenfor gamlebyen. Ingenting å klage på, foruten serveringen på stranda, her tok det veldig lang tid å få både bestilt og levert mat/drikke, og drinkene levde ikke opp til standarden på hotellet. Drinkene var mer noe man hadde forventet på et simpelt all inclusive hotell, ikke på et 5* hotell. Uansett var det en veldig god opplevelse, og vi bor gjerne på dette hotellet igjen i fremtiden.

Everything was great. The food was amazing and easily walkable to old town and some great other restaurant options. Clean and most of the staff was attentive and friendly. The only thing I would say is our checkin was a little cold. No information about the hotel, where to go, how to get to our room, just general information. When passing we heard other people check in that got a very warm welcome. Down by the water the service is a little long with how many people there are so seemed a little understaffed, but the food was excellent and def made up for that. The airport transportation was very smooth and the price was reasonable. Other than that, no complaints. Would return and recommend to anyone.

They took note that my husband had a birthday (we had not told them anything) and delivered a birthday cake to the room which was a lovely surprise. One of the days we had to wake up early for a tour and they made us a breakfast box each with juices, sandwiches, fruit and more. It was truly the attention to detail and care showing in everything throughout the trip. The only problem was the lights in the bedroom would switch off by themselves for no reason (even though the card was in the slot). They should check that out. We would definitely stay here again if we return to Dubrovnik.

Vesna and Marko took excellent care of us during our stay. We were upgraded to the Presidential Suite and also booked an additional room for the kids. The hotel is welcoming and clean, and every staff member, from the bellboy and concierge to the masseuses at the spa and the pool attendants, is highly professional. The cliff and beach area are stunning, with ladders for easy access and a jumping wall for added fun. The hotel's breakfast is definitely five-star quality. We will definitely be back.

The hotel is very well located, a very pretty 10 minute walk to the old town. The view is perfect. The museum of modern art is in the doorstep as is Banje Beach The staff are wonderful. They were helpful, friendly, and resolved little niggles with efficient, perfect customer service. Breakfast was excellent, both the hot food to order and the buffet. The variety and quality was appreciated. We only had one evening meal at the hotel. The food was very good and the wine was amazing, but, even for Dubrovnik, the price was high. Some of the Michelin recommended restaurants in town offer better value. Our first allocated room was not properly cleaned (sand all across the floor) and had a heating fault, but this was dealt with promptly and efficiently, which we were more than happy with. Spa facilities are well kept and beautiful, but the water in the hot tub and side pool with massage jets are really too cold for me to enjoy properly. The treatments were among the best I have ever experienced though. The outdoor areas by the sea have suffered significant storm damage, but I have no way of knowing how long ago. At the time of review, there were no hand rails to the sea entry or outdoor tidal pool, and the surfaces were very slippery with algae. Overall, one of the nicest hotel breaks we have had. The hotel is one of the best 5 star hotels we have ever stayed at. But given that, there were just a couple of niggles with the building and grounds.

Check in was smooth and friendly, Staff was great getting luggage to room. Dining was expensive and portions were small. Food was okay not great, wait staff was slow, would not recommend eating here. The rooms were grossly overpriced. Pool was indoors. It was large, however no sea view. Hotel was in nice setting. If price was reduced by 40- 50% you would be getting proper value.

Beautiful location overlooking the Adriatic and Dubrovnik old town center. Attracting new accommodations albeit our air conditioning system didn’t work. Prices for food and alcohol beverages are crazy expensive. Overall a very nice stay.

This was the first hotel I have stayed at on vacation where I did not want to leave the hotel. Usually a hotel is a place to sleep and shower for me. The design of the hotel is beautiful. The restaurants and bar were incredible. We had a super-romantic dinner with a table right on the water and live music. You can sunbathe and jump in the Adriatic from the beach deck. The service was incredible. Knowledgeable and friendly front desk staff and attentive room service. I cannot say enough about Hotel Excelsior

We only stayed for one night. The best views of the Adriatic Sea and the Dubrovnik old town from our hotel balcony/terrace was incredible. This hotel is the perfect location to stay when in Dubrovnik. Breakfast buffet was not as good as I expected. Dinner was fantastic!

Loved the location and the amenities at this hotel. Within walking distance of old town and the swimming out front in the sea was fantastic. We had a beautiful view of the sea and old town Dubrovnik. Breakfast was good too!
