Enjoyed our stay at Rydges Hobart. Easy parking- it was about a 1-2km walk into CBD, but easy to grab an Uber or catch bus. Rooms were spacious and clean, and happy hour at the bar was good value. Overall a good stay.

Everything was good as I expected. The only thing that I didnt like is that they dont have an onsite gym, but they provide access to a nearby gym (6mins walk), however would have been excellent to have an onsite gym.

A very comfy stay and lovely staff member who checked us in. Very spacious and clean rooms. It was such a hot summer day, and daylight til 8.30pm so thought it a shame that the pool closed at 6pm.

Nice old building but old buildings have old parts that make a lot of noise sometimes. Water pipes from the floor above rattled and banged when being used which was a bit annoying at 11pm. Otherwise a good location with free on site parking

Hotel room had a really nice king size bed with a big 65 inch HD TV (very good quality picture). Would have really enjoyed the bedroom being bigger by removing the large sitting room at the room entrance (not used). The bathroom shower was outstanding: truely wonderful with soap, shampoo & conditioner provided from each dispenser. Would have loved the use of a bathroom robe for both of us. Bed was really comfy. Breakfast was good value at the discounted cost provided: coffee was outstanding (we had 2 cups each). Location suited us being in North Hobart, as we were heading to the airport from the hotel. Being in the 40’s numbered rooms we had to carry our luggage up 3 flights of stairs: no lifts: could be a problem for those unfit or older. We continue to travel extensively internationally & domestically: being fit & healthy over 65 retirees. We have rated our stay a 4 based on the above honest feedback. Would we stay again: we would love to but only if improvements were made, including a better value for money sit-down breakfast. A last words: terrific off-street parking for guests & staff were very nice also.

We have stayed at Rydges 3 times before, and loved it. This time, no. We had the king suit, but only one soap and one face washer for the twin vanities. First night, I thought it must have been an oversight. Second day, same, just one soap and one face washer. Room was spotless and bed was up to Rydges standard, very comfortable.

I am so glad we chose to stay here on a 3 night visit to Hobart. Easy free parking and an easy 4 - 5 minute drive into city and Salamanca Place area. We were upgraded to a superior suite which was just delightful - huge comfortable bed, bathroom to die for with an excellent shower, separate sitting room and plenty of bar bench space with lovely crockery and cutlery, microwave, fridge and tea and coffee making. Plenty of chair and couch seating as well as work desk and coffee tables. View from bedroom window was magnificent, looking over city to water and distant rolling hills. Everything was so very clean. We could not have been happier!

We had a nice spacious room but the bed was very squeaky, the mattress is wider than the frame, therefore sank on the side, very small for a queen bed, not a fan of poster beds either, I know they’re keeping the antique look but I think a queen ensemble bed would be a better fit for this beautiful big room, other than that we had a lovely stay

The Hotel is charming and located near good cafes. The room was spacious and bed comfortable. Unfortunately I was located on the lower floor of an attached building and the noise from the bathroom above keep me awake with the toilet flushing and shower being used. No insulation between the bathrooms which was a negative in my view as a light sleeper.

There is a few stairs to the reception which are difficult with bags. However we were helped to our room with the bags. The room was quiet, clean and the bed comfortable, Parking was on site .

This hotel is definitely haunted… Lots of reviews and stories online. The staff were nice. We checked out a little early due to a plumbing issue but got a refund for the final night so no arguments there.

I've stayed here many years ago, and cannot believe it's still here. Staff were friendly. My room was a little bit further out from the reception area. The room itself was quite spacious, definitely clean and tidy. Only a short drive to Salamanca Place.

Downhill walk in to Hobart which was good exercise and only about 10 mins. $6 taxi ride back. Excellent value for money & I will definitely stay there next time I'm in Hobart.

Rydges was a beautiful hotel comprising a number of buildings on a large property. It is beautifully, tastefully & authentically maintained. The room had lovely decor, was large & generous with a a separate sitting room. The staff were friendly & helpful. The buffet breakfast was the icing on the cake.

The room and hotel were fine. However, we rented a room hoping to have a sort of vintage staying (that is how the room was advertised) to then be sent to a room that was not in the main building itself. Again, the room was ok but it wasn't what we expected. The breakfast could definitely improve. The pastries seemed to be those you buy frozen at the supermarket. No cheese slices, some days ham some days salmon (Hobart, Tasmania, you would expect more). Worst scrambled eggs on the world.
