It’s a nice little hotel between Plaza Sol, Opera, and Plaza Mayor. Very good location. There is neither a pool nor even a small gym which was a disappointment to my son. The room was good except for the weird glass bathroom door. It’s frosted in the middle but who wants to see the legs of someone sitting on the toilet or dropping your drawers to get in the shower? The view out our room was another room’s bathroom and a jumble of rooftop vents and access panels. Not a nice view. Make sure you get a room facing Calle Arenal or something.

This hotel is in a great neighborhood close to a lot of attractions and great restaurants. I would suggest requesting an upper floor as those rooms have been renovated and are beautiful. The breakfast was amazing with so many options from healthy to decadent. At night the breakfast area turns into a lounge with super friendly staff and great drinks.

The property is a beautiful boutique hotel with very friendly staff. Location is very good with many dining options as well as proximity to 2 Metro stations (Opera and Sol). We were able to walk to the shopping area of Gran Via. Please note though that you have to walk just a little bit to reach the hotel as there's no car/taxi/Uber that can stop right in front of the hotel.

I had a small room with a balcony overlooking Calle Arenal, 15, in Madrid. The staff members were all wonderful, friendly, and accommodating. The breakfast offerings prepared to suit every preference and palate. The bistro style cafe on the ground floor was also a terrific place to congregate with lovely decor. The hotel's eco awareness was characterized by making available some amenities not found in the room but there for the asking. No waste. A modern hotel room with the antiquities of Madrid just outside.

Thoroughly enjoyed our 5-night stay at this hotel. Friendly, helpful and courteous staff. Central location ... i was concerned about street noise but rooms are very well insulated so it was lovely and comfortable. The best hotel breakfast we have enjoyed for a very long time ... so much choice from the frequently replenished buffet as well as omlettes / eggs cooked to order. No restaurant in the hotel for dinner but plenty of good options around (including a fantastic Lebanese restaurant nearby).The cafe bar was a real plus ... after a long day sightseeing it was nice to relax with a pot of tea (and free cake!) The bar staff were particularly friendly and courteous. I have no negatives for this hotel and would stay again without hesitation the next time we travel to the beautiful city of Madrid.

This is a terrific hotel! The staff was very accommodating and allowed to check in before the 3pm time which was helpful after arriving a 5:30am from the states. The breakfast was high quality and they offered eggs to order in addition to the normal European fare. the hotel has a super location within most offerings in the old town area. For dinners, the front desk staff offered many good selections to choose from. The only down side for the hotel is a lack of on site auto parking. This is a great property that did not disappoint.

Excellent hotel, Excellent staff - we loved our stay and would go back in a heartbeat. Staff were professional, very helpful and friendly. Our room was very clean and comfortable, shower was amazing with great water pressure. Breakfast was one of the best we’ve had - great selection and good quality. Location was close to everything we wanted to see/do.

Otelin konumu harika. Hareketli bir cadde üzerinde olmasına rağmen içeriye ses çok gelmiyor. Temizlik, kahvaltı ve personel yaklaşımı süper. Sadece oda küçük eşya koyma alanları az ama yatak ve yastık güzeldi. Tekrar gidersem yine bu oteli tercih ederim.

Exceptional hotel. Super friendly and helpful staff. Had my room ready even though I arrived early. The room was large, airy and clean. Had three balconies looking out over Calle de Arsenal. Lovely large bathroom with all the amenities you need. Breakfast was amazing with loads of delicious options. Prime location for visiting the sites in Madrid and for accessing the metro. Area is safe and lively at all hours. Windows are soundproof. 10/10 would recommend this hotel - no negatives whatsoever.

The front desk was not very helpful or nice. The man was the rudest. The room was tiny with no door for the bathroom just wide open. Not the cleanest and no mirror. It was very loud and cold too! The only thing great about it is location. Other 2 hotels on the trip were so much better.

Nice location, clean, helpful and friendly staff, very nice buffet breakfast included, discreet entrance. Only negatives were super firm (uncomfortable) bed, unable to change air conditioner temperature ( got way too cold) Only a sheet on the bed—no blanket, or coverlet. Had to ask for a blanket ( which was delivered promptly) because air conditioner was super cold. This was on late July. Would stay there again despite negatives, though.

Great location with lots of sights within walking distance. Staff were very helpful and the breakfast was great. The one issue we did have was noise from other guests. This disturbed our sleep one more than one night. You could clearly hear conversations through the walls. Some street noise is to be expected but internally better sound proofing would be helpful.

I had researched the hotel thoroughly before booking it and had seen that reviews were excellent and that the hotel had high ratings, so I had high expectations on the stay. I stayed at the hotel from a Friday to Monday with my 9-year old son and everyone was very friendly and the room was clean. However I didn’t experience that the room standard lived up to a 4 star hotel as the walls were so thin that you could hear everything from the rooms next door and from the street. The hotel is located on a very central and very popular pedestrian road so there was quite a lot of noise coming from the road during the weekend nights. All in all, we both had difficulties sleeping due to the noise from out neighbors as well as from the street. The best thing about the stay was the hotel breakfast which was absolutely amazing.

위치는 좋았지만. 다른 모든 부분은 넘 실망스러웠습니다. 사진과 다르게 룸이 작고 낡았으며, 침대 매트리스는 불편했고 담요에 시트를 덮은 이불은 어느 호텔에서도 볼수 없었던 부분입니다. 방음이 전혀 되지 않았으며 샤워부스는 좁고 반투명 유리와 위가 뚫린 화장실은 절대적으로 개선이 필요합니다.

The staff at the front desk were kind and helpful with checking in. The cleaning staff were excellent and very friendly. Mai who is the lead bartender and restaurant manager was an amazing addition to this wonderful staff and location in the heart of Puerta Del Sol, Madrid. Leaving the hotel I felt as though are week long stay connected me to the city of Madrid and the staff at Hotel Francisco I.

This is a lovely hotel!!! The staff was very accommodating - Emilio has worked at this hotel for over 20 years and is an asset to the hotel and the guests! On the main floor is a quaint sitting area and bar. On the first floor is an incredible breakfast spread plus a library. If you are looking for a centrally located hotel in Madrid to stay in, I can highly recommend Hotel Francisco I! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this perfect hotel!

When I arrived to the hotel and checked in I was told we were upgrading but when we went to our rooms we were actually downgraded. I had booked 2 balcony rooms and got 2 prison windows. When I addressed it I was told that since we arrived an hour after check in there was nothing they can do and said we will have better rooms the next day. The following day we were ignored, but the hotel told Expedia that they offered us better rooms and we rejected it. What a lie. rStaff are extremely rude and truly ruined our trip and the city experience

The service staff at the bar, breakfast buffet, and for room cleaning were very friendly and accommodating. The hotel was centrally located and the rooms were modern, clean, and spacious. I definitely would give them five stars. But I lowered my ratings because the reception staff was not accommodating or helpful. They weren’t the most hospitable considering that is an important part of their job and the first interaction that guests would have with the hotel. A friendly greeting was hard to come by. We came to Madrid so that we could do a day trip to Segovia. We asked for information on how to get there. The receptionist said she’d get the information for us in the morning. But she failed to do so. The receptionist who worked that day provided us information to take the train but didn’t provide us information on hotel tours to Segovia. Unfortunately we only found out about this when we came back to the hotel after not being able to get on the train due to it being full. We asked him why didn’t he tell us about their hotel tour but he didn’t answer us. We gave up hope in going to Segovia. Later that day another receptionist said we could take have taken the bus but it was already too late for us. The bus was already full. The former receptionist failed to tell us that taking the bus. He had several opportunities to give us information to get to Segovia. We felt he couldn’t be bothered to help us. He was aloof and he just didn’t care and we have VIP status.

This is our second time staying in this hotel. The hotel is in a fantastic location: 5 minutes from Plaza Mayor, 5 minutes from Plaza del Sol, 5 minutes from the Palacio Real. Hotel customer service is outstanding. We love the rooms with balconies.
