We stayed at the Pavilions at NY 2023/24. From reviews the hotel looked amazing - we'd been to Madrid a few times before and stayed in nice hotels, so I was looking forward to this one. It was nice, but was let down in a few areas. Firstly - the bar (or lack of). The hotel was advertised as having a bar, an important point for us. It does have a bar, but......it shuts at 3pm every day!! On hotels.com it's shown as simply "a bar" (hotels.com take note), but it's the only 4* hotel bar I've ever heard of that never opens later than 3pm! So - nowhere to go for a pre-dinner drink, or a last drink after an evening out. Really disappointing. Secondly, some of the hotel just seemed, well, tired. Both in condition and upkeep. Little things, but all added together made a for a feeling of a hotel on the decline. The welcome mat when we walked in needed a serious vacuuming. The chairs at check-in didn't have feet on them so made an awful screech when you pulled them up to the desk. The info screen in one of the 2 lifts didn't work. The ironing board I requested was a tiny travel one that was really difficult to use, old, dog eared and shabby. The paint was peeling in our bathroom. The sofa in our room was stained. The complimentary umbrella in the stand was broken. The TV in our room didn't work. None of these in isolation is a big deal. But a lot of little things like this, as well as the bar situation, made The Pavilions a bit of a let down compared to how it markets itself.

Absolutely loved staying at the Pavillions. It's on a quiet street with good shopping very closeby. We loved our room and the balcony with it - extremely comfortable, clean and spacious. Next time I come to Madrid, I will definitely be staying here.

Fin plassering. Gode restauranter i området, kort gangavstand til shopping. Noe av det negative var at dusjen ikke hadde dør, så halve badet ble vått. Endel av interiøret, som håndtakene på dusjen og noen skap på rommet var ødelagt eller slitt. Veggene er også veldig tynne, så man kan høre andre i gangene og vann i rørene til tider.

Beautiful neighborhood, across the street from a government building therefore there are a few guardia civil on the street all the time. Definitely feels safe. Close to Colon metro, a little further out from the center and closer to high end shopping, Plaza de colon and walkable to Chueca. Small restaurant for breakfast

Truthfully this is probably the best stay of my trip and in Europe overall. The room are very remodeled and they are very big, at least the one I stayed at that was to share between 3 people. Very spacious from the room, the bathroom, the closet. It's in a very secure area and for the most part very quite and in a great location. Everyone was very nice and the breakfast was very tasty. I was there for my bday and they even brought up some dessert for me.

The area was quiet and safe - there are government buildings nearby so there are armed guards on the street at all hours (but not in a scary way). I would 100% feel safe staying here as a solo traveler. The room had just enough space and a lovely rain shower. Free breakfast help us save a good bit of money each day. And the location is near several metro stations, and great shopping and restaurants (Check out Bar Tomate). I would absolutely stay here again.

My sister and I stayed here for four nights in two single rooms. We loved our stay. This hotel is on a quiet street that was lovely to retreat to at the end of a busy day, but it is also extremely convenient if you are a traveler who enjoys walking to get to know the city. Almost everything we wanted to do was a 20-30 minute walk away and the few things further out were easily accessible by Metro. The service was attentive and kind without being intrusive. And the option for room service was very welcome as we acclimated to the time change. Highly recommend The Pavilions.

We had 2 nights reserved. When we arrived, they gave us an upgrade to the rooftop room that had a huge terrace. It was rather small, made of black wood and navy-blue wallpaper. There were no night tables, a useless mirrored buffet (?), and a tiny bathroom. And it was too hot to stay outside enjoying the large terrace. So, the following day, we asked to be downgraded back to what we had reserved. They gave us a bright sunny room, with large night tables, lots of places to keep our clothes, and a lovely large bathroom. It had no balcony, but as I mentioned before, it was too hot to use one. The staff was extra nice! A special thanks to Maria who understood our need and gave us a good recommendation for tapas. I didn’t like their way of serving breakfast: it’s a la carte, but different. The location is very good in Salamanca, just 2 blocks away from the sophisticated Calle Serrano, the starred restaurants, and Prado and Reina Sofia Museums. But if you’re going to Madrid for those touristic Plazas, Palaces and Churches, it’s far.
