Barceló Emperatriz

Absolutely loved this hotel. Rooftop bar and pool was perfect, and the staff can't do enough for you. It loses a star for tiny things, being: 1. Bed was two singles pushed together, so I kept losing a limb down the middle. Not ideal for couples who like a cuddle. 2. Towels were a bit hard. 3. A couple of plug sockets didn't work. Would definitely stay here again though.

The staff at the Barcelo Emperatriz was outstanding. The hotel was spotless, the room very comfortable and very well designed. The hotel is also very conveniently located for attractions, my work and transportation. I would recommend this property and its staff to anyone. My only small issue was a very poor fitness center with equipment that did not work and inadequate free weights.

It was a process and lacked attention. 4/10. The lobby is very small and crammed, we waited over an hour for the room. The lobby toilets need attention and better cleaning. 4/10 While waiting we had a drink at the bar, which was decent with a selection of cocktails and wines but lacked ambience and attention. 6/10 The lifts are very small but relatively quick. Tranquility Room, although I specifically requested a room with more natural lighting this was a real let down. The room was very dark and very dim. The room itself is small and inviting with a comfortable bed and decent space for storing belongings. Room overall 7/10 and bathroom which was spacious and equipped with amenities more aesthetically pleasing 9/10 The hotel did acknowledge it was our anniversary and sent complimentary cava to our room which was a kind gesture. 10/10 Breakfast was probably the most pleasing with an array of selection and choice of fruits, breads, a la carte options and cava for breakfast. Waiters aren’t so attentive, had to request cutlery twice and noticed tables weren’t cleared promptly. 9/10 Overall the hotel was satisfactory, general cleaning standards are good but felt more of a 4*. It lacks invite and early check in/late check out requests seemed to be dismissed.

Beautiful 5star hotel located in ideal location in central Madrid. Easy access to amazing restaurants and high end merch within walking distance. The US embassy is around the corner. Uber access makes traversing the city to the Prado while you can walk to the Archeological Museum. We did not access the restaurant on site. The curbside bell gentleman were excellent. The daily cleaning service was top end. The only negative was during the country wide blackout in which the hotel surprisingly did not run on generator outside of the main lobby and stairwell — the front desk laughed at my daughter when she asked if she could charge one of our phones to enable us to contact our son. I overlooked this and would still rate this hotel a def 5star.

Nice hotel, Great staff, breakfast was delicious and with many options, - Room was to small for 3 people , it’s ok for a couple.. valet parking is the only option

Highly recommend this hotel, service was excellent. Rooms very nice. Breakfast was also fabulous. Pool on roof was small but used it each day and never had a problem getting a sun chair. Quiet neighborhood, but walkable to some lovely boutiques.

Great location near transport links short walk to attractions like Prado museum, san Miguel market and the Santiago Bernabéu. Good choice of restaurants near. Good views over the city from the roof terrace Friendly staff very welcoming.

El hotel es IDEAL. Instalaciones de excelente tamaño, ofrecen todos los servicios necesarios (servicio al cuarto, gimnasio, terraza, alberca, desayuno buffet) limpieza pulcra, personal totalmente atento en todo momento a lo que sus huéspedes necesitan. El hotel tiene una ubicación perfecta a esquina del Paseo La Castellana y es una zona muy bonita, segura y muy céntrica en Madrid.

Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was spotless and had all the amenities. Also loved the location. Quiet and walkable to nearby restaurants and shops.

I have stayed here before. The hotel and staff is excellent. My only issue was around 6am there was major noise coming in from within the hotel. Which interrupted my sleep. Any doors that would close near my room, I would hear it clearly.. the hotel is clean and staff once again being excellent, but in terms of quietness was not the best. No noise from outside.

너무 어두워요. 전등이 간접등만 있어서 많이 답답했어요. 전신거울이 보이지 않을정도에요. 다른 것은 다 좋아요. 밤에 잠만 잘거면 괜찮아요.

Extended my trip by 2 nights so needed a comfortable hotel and this was just what I needed. Nice upscale hotel. My room was small (used to American size ) but large by European standards. I had a real king size bed. Not two beds put together. The bed was extremely comfortable with good pillows. The bathroom was fantastic. My one complaint is that I was on first floor and I could hear all the sound from the outside. Not talking about just cars but like people talking outside. It would come in. Otherwise would stay here again with no hesitation

Absolutely brilliant hotel the staff are fantastic they go out of their way to make sure your stay is good. Our check in was at midnight and the guy on reception gave us a 5 star welcome. In our room they’d left us fresh cakes and waters . Breakfast is a great full buffet with eggs on order in every way . Good quality food fresh breads and upmarket coffee couldn’t fault it . The staff definitely make this hotel special Metro very nearby and you can walk to this amazing park with great reasonably priced restaurants. Highly recommend.

Habitaciones nuevas, limpias, 5 minutos caminando al metro, el personal del hotel fue muy amable y atento siempre. El desayuno buffet es buenísimo, recomiendo mucho el hotel

No lo recomiendo: servicio muy por debajo de un 5 estrellas y el costo de la estancia. El Hotel Emperatriz tiene instalaciones con gran potencial, pero lamentablemente el servicio no está a la altura ni del estándar de un hotel cinco estrellas ni del precio que se paga. La atención fue, en general, muy deficiente. Se salvan Ricardo, el botones, y Jorge del rooftop, quienes fueron amables y profesionales. Por lo demás, la experiencia fue decepcionante. Durante mi estancia se extravió una pulsera de oro con gran valor económico y, sobre todo, sentimental. En lugar de ofrecer apoyo o al menos una investigación seria, el personal dio a entender que yo lo estaba inventando. No hubo ni una disculpa ni ningún tipo de compensación o gesto de atención ante la gravedad del hecho. Además, a pesar de tener estatus Platinum, no ofrecieron ningún upgrade y la “amenidad de bienvenida” se limita a una tarjeta válida para dos aguas, dos refrescos o dos cervezas… una cortesía muy pobre para un huésped frecuente. No volvería ni lo recomendaría. No por las instalaciones, sino porque un hotel se define por su servicio, y aquí fallaron rotundamente.

This is an excellent place to stay, staff treats you like the most important person in the world. I always regret staying in another hotel (to try them) in madrid, and always appreciate it when I come back to the Barcelo Emperatriz!

The entire staff is extremely personable, helpful, accommodating, and kind. We were quite impressed with the level of service and the price point. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Madrid. You will not be disappointed.

So glad we stayed here. The moment we approached the front door, we knew that we were at a special place. Incredible check-in process with a beautiful room. The woman checking us in went waaaaay beyond her job description. I'm bummed I forgot her name, but she called ahead to a restaurant she recommended and made a reservation. We also were given a complimentary welcome beverage at the lobby bar. After getting cleaned up, we went to the restaurant and the hotel had made sure that we were given a complimentary glass of champagne. The hotel is in a GREAT location as well. Some real upscale stores that are in walking distance. There were always cabs waiting which is a nice touch as well. The value of the cost was beyond fair. Stay at this hotel; you won't be disappointed

Solid nice boutique hotel with decent amenities. Front desk staff however was not very helpful whatsoever when asked questions etc. about points of interest and other common visitor questions. Concierge seemed to be always missing in action as well. Breakfast restaurant staff was excellent and very attentive.

Not my first time at a Barceló hotel, so kind of knew what to expect and this hotel did not disappoint. Was given an upgrade which was greatly appreciated. Everything was really excellent (and I am quite a seasoned traveler through work), from check-in, to staff attentiveness, cleanliness, as well as breakfast, restaurant, etc. Location was also great, although here on business, I certainly enjoyed both sightseeing and shopping, quite a few destinations were within walking distance for me, but I do walk a lot. Needless to say I would highly recommend and would definitely stay here again if in Madrid. Thank you very much Barceló team for the excellent service you provide!

Ottimo hotel per il nostro soggiorno a Madrid. La zona non è centralissima ma è ben collegata al centro con mezzi e taxi sempre disponibili davanti al hotel. Stanze spaziose, confortevoli e silenziose. l personale è gentile e premuroso. Ci torneremo.

Quarto impecável, espaçoso e muito limpo. Os itens de higiene eram repostos diariamente, e o banheiro também era excelente. A equipe não foi muito atenciosa na nossa chegada — a recepcionista foi um pouco grossa. A área da recepção não é muito organizada nem tão limpa, mas os quartos compensam esse ponto. A localização é boa, próxima à Calle Serrano, o que permite fazer muita coisa a pé. Há ótimos restaurantes, mercados, farmácias e lojas nas redondezas.

This is our second time at Barcelo Emperatriz. We had a wonderful experience like the first time. We were celebrating our Wedding Anniversary. The staff is amazingly attentive and kind. We were gifted a champagne bottle, chocolates and a Happy Anniversary card. The breakfast is delicious with a great array of options. The room is spacious and impecably clean. The bed is super comfortable. The shower head is great and love that there is also a bath tub. We will definitely stay here again in future visits to the beautiful city of Madrid! Thanks to all the staff that made our experience so amazing.

I love the room service, breakfast in bed was great. The staff at the hotel was always kind and willing to help.On the other hand, Dinner at the restaurant didn't meet our expectations. We loved the location.

This hotel is highly recommended. We had an enjoyable stay. With very attentive and pleasant staff. The breakfast was a treat!!!! So many options to choose from. There's a taxi stand right in front of the hotel. All places of attraction can be reached easily by bus too.Should i find myself in Madrid again, i will definitely go back.

We loved this hotel!!! The rooms were comfortable and everything is well thought out to make you feel like royalty(get it? Spain has a king).Breakfast was delicious with a really excellent array of options to choose from. The best best part is the staff, everyone we had contact with were absolutely spectacular and went out of their way to make you feel welcome. I especially want to thank Diego, who was very helpful and Gema the hostess at the restaurant. That said everyone and I mean everyone was a pleasure to deal with. Highly recommend this hotel!

This is a high end hotel and the staff was wonderful, I think they can improved their breakfast, if you place an order it will take some time for the plate to arrive and probably has to do when many guest are sitting at once. For additional dinning options you might have to take a taxi.
