Room Mate Mario, Madrid

I expected more for the price. First, the good things. Location is great, bed was very comfortable, and the staff members were helpful. Not good- the hotel has a very funky, musty smell. The whole place feels kind of worn out - from the black carpet in the room to the marked up paint on the walls. The bed throw had stains on it, the throw pillows had hair on them. The shower only had a half wall and so water went everywhere. The curtains are very thin so the bright street lights were illuminating the room. And I asked for a quiet room and yet was located one door down from the breakfast room, so I was awoken by dishes clattering and noise of hotel guests. The street noise (which is beyond their control) was also quite loud. I would not recommend this hotel unless they drastically lower their price.

The hotel staff were really good throughout, but the hotel itself could use a refurbishment and has really bad/non-existent soundproofing. The general location is excellent, but the specific street is really noisy and the windows do not stop any of the noise - in particular, the little supermarket next door makes so much noise throughout the day as they bring stock in and out. I would stay there again, but I think I would check out some of this brand's other locations first.

Everything was great: crystally clean room, beddings, bathroom. Breakfast is known with the variety of meals and drinks offered, freshness creativity!

The location was excellent!! The staff was great and the rooms were adequate.

Location is amazing, walkable to places and metro station. Breakfast and service were perfect!
