Property needs a good make over! Room needs new paint and furniture is from last century. Bathroom was filthy with built up grim and mould and overall room was not clean. There is no overhead lighting in bedroom and no PowerPoint beside each side of the bed, very inconvenient. No blanket in the room. Too noisy to leave door open for air, balcony was not worth having. Noisy dirty small and overlooked nothing. Pool and gym area are very outdated and not enjoyable at all. By the time you pay for parking on top of room cost you are better to find another hotel. Car parking…. Don’t have a normal size car. We had a very small mg and it was awful to park. Passenger had to get out so you could park right on one side for driver to even get out. They did leave a nice message and bottle of wine in room but it doesn’t really make up for the quality of the room or facilities.

The pool was out of order so we couldn’t use it wasn’t on there website. No one told us. Very friendly staff,no-one can just walk in as you need a key after 830 at night. I was very happy and quite impressed!

Unfortunately the pool was closed for the week and we were only notified late. Our granddaughter was looking forward to the pool. The cleaning behind and at the side of the fridge hadn’t been cleaned for a while and under the cushions on the couch was dirty. When management were advised it was rectified immediately. Other than that the staff were excellent and could not have been more helpful.

Just because it says parking onsite doesnt mean you will get a park. Only reason we stayed, but still had to pay for Wilson parking. Shower had no door so completely washed the bathroom floor as water shot straight out. Then needed more towels. We noticed Vomit in the lift was left for an unacceptable length of time before cleaned up. Small bathroom, toilet squished in corner, not comfortable.

Usually very good stay here - At least twice a year. Rooms still relatively clean and in good condition but elevators were out of action for over an hour (so it was 930 at night) No access to rooms. Last time i stayed elevators had a problem too.

Central to great shopping, parking entry access is a little narrow. No safe smoking area was a big let down, leaving the hotel for a smoke made it an uncomfortabe stay.

Great to have 2 bedroom apartment as an option for families, clean & comfortable. Central location, with secure undercover parking an option. Kids loved playing in the pool, it’s older and could do with a refresh but it’s pretty much an indoor area which is a bonus temp wise during cooler months.

The family room size is great and comes with most everything you need, but everything’s just a bit rundown/dirty/old: the bedrooms have no lights except for 1 bedside lamp and room for 4-5 guests comes with a fry pan that fits 1 egg. Light in the microwave is broken, handle on dryer is gone, and bathrooms are grimed with fungus/mould; water pressure weak and temperature up/down. Parking in hotel is $25/night, but free street parking available down the street or next street over: we found out when 1 night we came back and there were no spaces left. All small things, but in combi, makes the hotel a 4/10.

The cleanliness of our room, specifically the bathroom was below what I’d expect. Mouldy grout and shower area, and also the bathroom sink didn’t drain well at all. The room was also extremely noisy, with some sort of air con/motor sound coming on and off all day long, and it wasn’t from our units. The apartment was spacious though and the beds were clean and comfy. The portacot was in pretty average condition too.

Our stay was okay, we were put in an access apartment (not requested) so when you showered the bathroom turned into a swimming pool. Quite dangerous in the bathroom with so much water, we requested a mop and someone came and mopped for us but didn’t leave the mop. So the problem was on going. The bathroom was clean on the surface but the grout had not been cleaned for a number of years.

Room did not have hair dryer, only one bed side lamp and lighting in the bedroom so was very dark. Washing machine was dirty. Hot water takes forever to turn on and poor pressure. Check in was disappointing as paid for a high room and they put me into a room on the ground floor, I complained and the team said we are fully booked. I was not happy so they moved me to level 5.

Good value for the money, I guess… in serious need of a facelift and some investment. Several lights not working, and tiny shower was struggle for a regular 6’ guy. Needs a really good deep clean. No power next to beds is quite strange as well? One bed had wool blankets instead of a doona… just lots of little things that add up. Will consider staying again if the price is cheaper or it gets renovated

Stayed here for 5 nights in a two bed apartment. An extra single bed was placed right in front of the balcony sliding doors, preventing access so after furniture was rearranged, was squeezed into on of the bedrooms. No way this building meets code. No lights in the bedrooms, only side lamps, bathroom was dated, poor ventilation, both bedrooms had windows that could not be opened. Rubbish under bed from previous occupants. Reception staff were polite and very helpful. Bar breakfast room was closed?? (Covid) close to sporting venues, but rooms need a serious upgrade, as I’m sure there are better rooms around for the same price.

Was not quite unfortunately we had some sort of transformer??? Loud intermittent buzzing noise that persuaded all night long. Turn air conditioning off as thought it was this but it did not help :(

We had the suite with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. It was very spacious, clean and even had a mini kitchen. Staff were very friendly and helpful, all the time. We also used the onsite parking, which was at a cost.

Overall the hotel was very nice, when we initially booked in and went to our room, the room was unmade and dirty. We went straight back downstairs and were promptly given another room, we stayed for one night. It was nice and close to the CBD and to the airport. The staff were very friendly.

The Hotel was great and customer service was excellent though-out my stay however there were a few things that I wasn't happy about. Unfortunately I was billed three times for breakfast, on sunday I was billed $28 for breakfast and on saturday I was billed for $20 breakfast. I went to settle the account on Sunday night and I paid the $20 breakfast for the saturday. On Monday I was charged an additional $20 for breakfast which I had paid on sunday and I had shown him receipt! and still I had to pay for the breakfast, which made my checkout annoying. Despite the taxi driver who took my to the wrong train-station (due to the communications at the hotel).

Thank you for a wonderful stay! My friends and I booked 2x two bedroom apartments for one night to celebrate my birthday. The hotel bent over backwards to make us welcome. We were allowed to check in a little earlier, they provided apartments next to one another, they upgraded us to two bathroom apartments, they left a personalised card and bottle of wine for my birthday, and they let us check out a little later too! Exemplary service and communication. The apartments were very clean and well appointed and we really enjoyed our stay. Thank you so much once again!

Hotel is good. Area is now being inhabited by (harmless) homeless people. I suggest that the hotel should take a big picture view and consult with businesses nearby to form an action plan to help with this situation before it possibly gets out of control.

The good points are (1) spacious apartments for reasonable price not too far from airport or centre and (2) very helpful and friendly staff. The main disadvantage was lack of reasonable dining or any bar. Restaurant in hotel had limited hours, did not do breakfast and there is no bar or alcohol sale in restaurant. The restaurant is really a slightly scruffy, basic place but, having said that, it serves some good Chinese food with friendly staff.

For the first time staying, it was not really evident which building was the Mantra on Hay. The only sign visible was on the roof of the portico which is not visible from a car. However, we managed a front kerbside park and on getting out, went into a building to ask and found when going inside that it was indeed the Mantra on Hay. There is very faint branding on the glass electronic doors on entry. The general feeling was of a tired and well-used building and the empty restaurant/dining area adjacent to the front lobby left a slightly abandoned air to the place. Our 2 bedroom unit was reasonably clean, the bathroom though was in desperate need of refurbishment with the grout black in places instead of white. However, the beds were excellent and well made with white linens and quite fluffy towels. Most items you would need were supplied in the kitchen with adequate plates, cutlery and electrical appliances. The fridge was past its use-by-date though with the freezer unit frosted up and the dents and scratches on the outside of the door showing it had endured a long and difficult life! Two or three lights were in need of bulb replacements however there were plenty of lamps and lights that did work. The sliding glass door to the balcony was wide open when we arrived and I suspect this was to help air out the slightly musty, well-used smell ingrained into the carpets and furnishings. The apartment needed a makeover, very dated with stain/marks in the bath tub. I requested a rubber bathmat (anti slip) to place in the shower/bath which did not eventuate. It also seemed too much of an effort to provide an electrical extension cord for a medical device, on my insistence a small power board was sourced from the maintenance department. Some of the staff could have been more helpful. The dining could have been more varied in the attached venue. My stay was over a week, there should have been more frequent basic housekeeping in place, like refreshed towels and bins emptied. I did not appreciate the total cost of the stay being debited to my credit card well before my signing in, there was no indication I was going to cancel the booking.
