We stayed for 3 nights whilst we attended Burghley Horse Trials. The hotel and its staff were lovely. There are 2 lovely places to eat in very close walking distance. We were very tired after each day but the hotel was nice and quiet. It’s attended 24 hours a day so we could take our dogs outside at any time of day and night. Lovely clean and conveniently located hotel.

Hotel staff very friendly and helpful, only downside was the lorries parked not far from our window and starting up during the night. Other than that very clean and comfortable, we would stay again but get a room in a different location of the hotel.

Great food at the included Breakfast Buffet, free Parking and a good location as a base for Peterborough. You are allowed to take pets but believe they must be under a certain size and you have to pay a bit.

Nice price and quiet, check in staff friendly. Very busy and tight car park especially if you have a van. Next door is harvester but couldn't get food as way too busy. Breakfast free and ok for free. Location was main reason for the stay and in my budget.

Very clean, efficient, well located stopover. Excellent value. Friendly staff, good breakfast. Would definitely use again. Could do with a beer/ale choice in the bar.

Pros. Quiiet and comfortable. Easy parking and appreciated welcome for dogs. Excellent breakfast and friendly, helpful staff. Cons Room stuffy (although it was a very hot night). Would have appreciated some forced ventilation/air conditioning. Did provide small fan though.

Stop off on route elsewhere was ok cleanliness could be improved on dining some cutlery was dirty a dinning room , and in corridor items were left all night outside doors or glasses dirty towels etc but probably stay again if on route again

The carpets were dirty and desperately need to be replaced or deep cleaned. Sofa in room 207 had all stains on the edges and face. Room 123 - Shower room was dangerous, the floor was slippery and had no grip on the tiles when wet. One of the receptionist, with long blonde hair was very rude and everything was too much effort for her to do anything! Didn't even offer the meal deal with the pizza and automatically put it through as separate items, subsequently paying more, even though we asked for the meal deals. When questioned, she rolled her eyes back and went to storm off! Not very customer friendly or polite. Evening dinner, we had 2 pizzas and they were under cooked and disgusting especially for the price of them. Breakfast was awful, sausages were meant to be Cumberlands, but tasted like cheap pork ones and were badly cooked. Beans had been kept warm for too long and scambled eggs were sloppy. Barely any orange juice and when asked, they said they'll get to it when they decide! Would we come back?? Erm..... Definitely not, be a place to avoid

Overall, a very pleasant experience for an overnight stay of that price. The reception staff were friendly and helpful on my arrival as well as when I had an issue with my car tyre from 9pm to almost 1am- which was greatly appreciated. The lady at reception assured me that there was no issue if i was to have to leave my car for the day even after checkout. As for the condition of the room, overall this wasn't too bad, it just needs some TLC. The window frame had a smidge of black mould that you usually get, these would either need to be cleaned every so often or simply replaced. The bathroom needs a better finish but i put that down to poor tradesmen rather than the hotel itself. But overall the cleanliness of the room was quite pleasing. Would definitely come here again, just need to remember the electric heater is under the desk.

Property very nice but despite a clear sign in the room offering feather pillows if preferred a trip to reception was greeted with ‘we don’t have any left’. Surely not that many people wanted them and why offer if there aren’t enough? On arrival we were asked if we wanted a room on the ground or first floor, our reply being ground. Then we were told ‘your rate only offers first floor’. We didn’t barter a rate, it was what their website offered! We were then given the furthest room on the top floor, a bit frustrating as our reason for ground floor choice was for 2 pensioners to avoid struggling with bags. Last shock was taking the second theoretical clean bath towel only to find a dried brown 3d stain on it. This can’t have survived an industrial wash so it must be a case of staff not checking all towels are unused. Off putting re a future stay but equally breakfast next morning very good.

Nice rooms only downside was they dont clean under the beds noticed there was what looked like crushed pringles under the bed then while my 11 month old was on the floor he was pulling plastic and what looked like a small plastic drug bag out from underneath the bed other than that we enjoyed our stay and would stay again except perhaps bring a travel cot next time so were not worried what toddler will find other than that every where else appeared clean curtains did have about 10 holes in them so early morning looked like a ray of stars on the curtains the breaksfast which was included in the price was nice me and husband and kids enjoyed it

We've stayed here before. Parking for our motorbike was great. Check-in was easy. Room was clean. They offer a choice of pillows which is great. Breakfast was nice, and even better that it's free. The only issue for this stay was the heat in the room. We arrived at 9pm and the outside air temperature was 26°c. We walked in to reception and it was lovely and cool. We were told our room was on the first floor. As we walked up the stairs, about half way up, the heat just hit your head! We opened the door to our room and the heat was unbelievable. I double checked that the heater wasn't on, it wasn't. I went to open the window and it opens about 10cm due to the stupid safety feature. It was so cool outside, but the room was unbearable, and all we had was a fan, which doesn't do anything apart move the inferno around. If they insist on having the stupid window safety feature (not all hotels do this) then they NEED to install air conditioning units, before someone is seriously ill with heat exhaustion.

I would rate higher but unfortunately I was given an adjoining room. This was ok until one night a young family came. They were noisy and jumping on the beds. I asked to change rooms but was told there was not anything else available. The foam insulation between the doors is PIR, which if not fitted snug around all sides , will most certainly not reduce noise, and it didn't! I also did not request an adjoining/ disabled room. Although having disabled facilities was not an issue, I'm just pointing that out. The staff were very polite and attentive. The breakfast room was kept clean and the breakfast was ok and hot. I liked the full size croissants, most hotels dish up the mini ones which can be hard. I was not a fan of the coffee, really poor quality. I liked the parking facilities but did see a lot of litter , which looked bad. The bin so close to the entrance was poor due to people using the top as a cigarette dump. The doors I found awkward , only because I had two lots of luggage. It would of been nicer if it was automatic. I liked the small comfy seating area opposite reception but found sitting and relaxing due to folks holding personal conversations on their mobiles with no consideration for anyone close by. I asked one lady if she could take her conversation outside, which she refused to do. I got into a heated debate with her but she had no consideration for anyone around her and continued at a pitch that was most intrusive. a sign saying respect others around you

The hotel/room/bathroom were very clean and well appointed. Only negative was the lack of airconditioning which, although a fan was provided, could be a problem if it was much hotter. Especially as the window only opens a few inches. Service provided was excellent

The room was really cold. I have health issues and the heating was almost non existent and I was awake coughing with the cold from around 4am onwards. There were no heated towel rails or bathroom radiator and so following a shower in the evening the towels remained damp throughout the night. The reception / concierge was very good but at breakfast there were a lack of staff, cutlery, and tables etc… The overall experience was poor.

Great check in, receptionist perfect under pressure due to only 2 staff to run it all. As a result, they had a limited menu on. He recommended the new steakhouse next door, wonderful food and packed out. Room was a long walk but worth it. Large spacious room, with everything you need, ironing board, Iron, Hairdryer, fan, large tv, more than enough tea/coffee/milk etc for 4 drinks each. Bathroom was very clean and modern and with no need to hand stand to wash the lower regions thanks to a shower that can be held. Can't comment on the breakfast as the storm was just starting and i wanted to stay ahead of it. Glad i did.

Didn't even offer the meal deal with the pizza and automatically put it through as separate items, subsequently paying more, even though we asked for the meal deals. Overall, a very pleasant experience for an overnight stay of that price. The reception staff were friendly and helpful on my arrival as well as when I had an issue with my car tyre from 9pm to almost 1am- which was greatly appreciated. The lady at reception assured me that there was no issue if i was to have to leave my car for the day even after checkout. As for the condition of the room, overall this wasn't too bad, it just needs some TLC. The window frame had a smidge of black mould that you usually get, these would either need to be cleaned every so often or simply replaced. The bathroom needs a better finish but i put that down to poor tradesmen rather than the hotel itself. But overall the cleanliness of the room was quite pleasing. Would definitely come here again, just need to remember the electric heater is under the desk.

My stay at the hotel was quite disappointing. From the morning, the staff was excessively loud, making it impossible for me to get any sleep. They were constantly slamming doors, and unfortunately, my room was situated directly opposite the staff room. Overall, it was my worst hotel experience.

We stayed for 3 nights whilst we attended Burghley Horse Trials. The hotel and its staff were lovely. There are 2 lovely places to eat in very close walking distance. We were very tired after each day but the hotel was nice and quiet. It’s attended 24 hours a day so we could take our dogs outside at any time of day and night. Lovely clean and conveniently located hotel.

A good, fairly basic hotel. Breakfast included option was very useful - selection reasonable. Options of evening meal locally (within walking distance) Slight drawback was road noise and noise from lorry depot but this did not particularly worry us. Will consider returning when in the area next

Room was ok but had only a small electric heater so was very cold. Bed was comfortable and bathroom and shower were ok. There was no food available on either of the nights we stayed and we were told this was due to staff shortages. The web site said complimentary newspapers would be supplied but this didn’t happen and the staff had never heard of them being available. Being a budget hotel I had no great expectations about breakfast and my expectations were met with a lack of choice and lukewarm hot food.

Excellent value stay. Clean room and bathroom. We were four (two kids, two adults) so quite tight with the sofa bed out but satisfactory for the price. Friendly staff that were always on hand. Quality breakfast with a good range of options (including veggie sausages on request) in a relaxed atmosphere with attentive staff regularly checking on the food, crockery and cutlery availability and presentation.
