I had a lovely stay at Hotel Medusa❤️ the hitel is cosy ahd quaint. It has a bright courtyard too. my room had a balcony which was perfect for my morning coffee time. The location is in a relatively quiet area ( there is a bar opposite but the noise is manageable. My room faced it. It quietens down by 10 pm) yet close to Kings’ Cross station - about 3-4 min walk. Lots of cafes around. Coles is 3 min walk. Botanical Gatdens is a 20 min walk through scenic roads. It was perfect for my 3 night stay. Jacqui us very helpful and supportive too🙏

Not what we were expecting - old and dated property with no lifts. Lots of steep stairs. Carpets in central areas have seen better days. The bathroom was old and dated, toiletries not restocked during our 4 night stay. The bed was quite hard & had a large external wooden frame which was a magnet for shins - ouch. No duvets on the bed - old school woolen blankets - not the most sanitary option. The kitchenette was behind doors and kind of pokey to access.The small tv was way up high on top of the kitchen so difficult to watch. When we arrived to check in we’re told the room wouldn’t be ready for 20 mins which was fine - we left our luggage and walked to get lunch. When we arrived back after nearly an hour it still wasn’t - we’re told twice just give me 30 seconds but were kept waiting in the freezing lobby area for close to an hour. The good thing was its locations to lots of dining options and a short walk to Kings Cross station. Would not stay here again though.

Loved everything about this hotel. It was warm, welcoming,and very accessible. It felt safe with the key pad entry and the staff were always close at hand with any requests for any additional item which might help. A very clean hotel too. Overall I cannot think of a better place to stay and we will definitely be back for another visit.

There are countless restaurants and cafes within easy walking distance, and the Kings Cross station is only 400 meters away. The Central train station is further but still easy cycling or walking distance. The room was comfortable and large: a great deal for the price. The building is very old, so has far more character than most modern hotels, and has a nice common room near the entrance. The host is super-friendly as well. I'd definitely stay here again.

Great boutique style property, like a great big house with rooms and en-suites. Great older style hotel with lovely interiors, however it is in need of an upgrade, particularly the bathrooms, due to mould and flaky plaster etc. Cleanliness is also lacking in both the bathrooms and bedrooms. On our arrival, we booked a transfer to the airport for our Sunday checkout and when we went to confirm on the Saturday, we were told by another staff member, that they don't do checkouts on a Sunday. Even with these issues, we would probably stay again, as I like a small style hotel, staff are lovely and it's in a great location.

I was extremely happy with my stay at the Medusa. Check-in was great, Shawn was extremely welcoming and quite rightly proud of this boutique hotel. The room I had was quiet, clean and had great water pressure and aircon. It was small but suited us perfectly. Easy walking distance to so many places, coffee shops and restaurants.

Such a wonderful surprise! I've stayed at a few micro-hotels and haven't been vey satisfied, but this one is amazing. The room is smaller than most hotel rooms in Sydney, though about the same size as a standard hotel room in Europe. There is no work station, but it has everything else you might need, and some nice surprises like Aveda bath soaps. The staff are also great. I had to work late, and the place was quiet and the staff were respectful and welcoming. I needed to extend my stay and they did it without any hassle. Definitely will return.

Loved the interior of the hotel ( although the style was in need of some updating), overall very comfortable. I was in a large room on the ground floor. Be aware that it’s an old building with creeks and noises so ear plugs if you are sensitive. The staff were friendly and helpful and the position was perfect.

Wow!! Can I give TEN stars?! What a way to end an epic 8week journey around NZ and Oz. Tommy is the most gracious host. And all the staff are knowledgeable about the area, offering specific things to do and places to see, especially great restaurants. So glad this was my home base in Sydney. Telling all my friends, and will definitely be back.

Just perfect for my needs. Wanted a well located hotel, reasonable price as very much about work and not being a tourist - just am judging based on this. Jesse is just the most wonderful host, making me feel like a person and not just someone passing through. Could not compliment him highly enough. Also little details like a free Minibar (which Idid not use), and nice bathroom accessories (Aesop). Now my go to place when I come back

Immensely enjoyed my stay at Medusa. The property features an eclectic mix of rooms to fit all needs, with lots of room to relax in and fantastic toiletries to pamper yourself with. The service is excellent, with Sean and the staff available to greet you and there to handle any needs you may have. The desk is not staffed 24 hours, but there's a concierge service available via phone if you do need to reach someone after hours. This hotel made me feel extremely welcome, relaxed, and ready to enjoy all Sydney has to offer. It's located in Darlinghurst and near many great restaurants, bars, clubs, and attractions. Medusa provides a unique and inviting experience, top of my list for accommodation in Sydney.

A very disappointing experience service wise. I left a pair of shoes in the room. I called and emailed and texted the next day to ask for them to retrieve them. Not until a day later did I get a response to say they could t see them but would check with housekeeping. It took them a daily call to respond to me by email three days later to check with housekeeping and to say they couldn’t find them and they may have been thrown away. Very, very upsetting - and disappointing.

Close to CBD. If walking back to Hotel, be advised it is all uphill to Darlinghurst from CBD. We loved the super comfortable bed and the luxury Aesop body & hand wash liquid soap.
