My husband and I are both in our 80's and being on the 3rd floor without an elevator wasn't too much of a problem except that the control for the air conditioner was kept at the front desk (they only had one). They didn't seem to think that it would be a problem for us after having walked all day to have to make an extra trip up and down the stairs to borrow the control. The location of the hotel is about as good as you can get in the Old Town.

Pulling a suitcase across the cobblestones was annoying, so advance warning would have been nice. Being on the top floor with said suitcases was also challenging. I loved that this was an old house but i could not get any other information annoy it - like an original floor plan. I loved Tallinn.

First, be aware that there is no elevator, and there's about 50 steps to the 3rd floor rooms. Other than that, a modest hotel in a great, quiet location in Tallinn's Old Town. Easy walking to restaurants and sights. One nice thing: they'll cook eggs to order for breakfast, which I enjoyed a lot.

We were greeted with drinks (very nice since it was a warm summer day when we arrived). The staff (especially, Margarita) was super helpful! She recommended some great places to visit. The onsite sauna was a wonderful way to end the day. Great hotel!

This boutique hotel was fabulous. Every single staff member we encountered was so helpful, friendly and kind. The location is absolutely perfect. The breakfast selection was ample and their omelettes are seriously one of the best I’ve ever eaten. I would advise though that anyone with severe accessibility needs may struggle here. There are no lifts in the hotel and therefore the bedrooms and breakfast lounge are only accessible via stairs. We honestly loved our stay here and would return to beautiful Tallinn and the Merchants Hotel in a heartbeat. Thank you to everyone for making our stay here so memorable.

This was a really nice stay! Great location, the staff were very friendly and helpful with everything! Bed was clean and comfortable, roomy suite, and the sauna was lovely! Only downside was there was not a shower, the attachment in the bathtub required you to be sitting down, which turned out slightly inconvenient for us.

Hotel's garden patio was messy and over half of this small area was covered with a tarp and furnutures were piled. The rooms don't have air conditioner. The bed was good and cleaning the room, even tough they didn't change the sheets . The breakfast wasn't as good as it has been. We had to order separately warm breakfast such as bacon, eggs, porridge. On the second morning the waitress took my order but didn't ever serve it, even tough I made the order 30 min before breakfast was run out, and waitress disappeared from the breakfast area. The location of the hotel is really good. With small and easy changes our stay could be better (breakfast and cleaning the patio).

Room was clean and spacious. The hotel is very old but well kept. the only drawback was there is no elevator. The staff was very good. the hotels location is excellent . It is very close to the main square. We really enjoyed our stay.

First the good points: great location and very attentive staff; Helga was especially helpful and friendly. The breakfast offering, which we didn't take, looked good. Now the not so good: some floor tiles in the bedroom (room 106) are loose, a non-functioning lamp in the bathroom (despite bringing this to their attention on day two of our four day stay), room cleanliness only average (there was a large paper clip in the centre of the floor throughout our stay) and the hotel courtyard was a mess (they told my wife that it was to be cleaned for June, which I just cannot understand as cleanliness is a year-round necessity). We were offered an alternate room, however this was upstairs and, with no lift and a long walk to it, it just wasn't an option for me.

Fantastic stay literally moments from the main town square. All areas of the hotel were spotless and my room was a good size and the bed very comfortable. Breakfast was fantastic, hot options were cooked to order meaning all nice and fresh and there was a good selection of continental as well. I was greeted with a smile each time I went through reception and everyone was very helpful and friendly in all areas of th hotel

Minus for dårlig bad på rom 208 - ingen avlufting, dusjforheng skittent, rett og slett muggent! Dessuten et par bratte trappetrinn inn fra gang til rom - kan lett ordnes med snekring av et ekstra trappetrinn.

Rigtig godt hotel i den gamle bydel. Personalet var meget venligt og hjalp med tips og tricks til gode oplevelser og spisesteder i Tallinn. Værelset var stort og rent. Der er meget stille. Jeg bor helt sikkert her igen, når jeg skal tilbage til Tallinn! Good value for money!

Property was easy to locate and located on a quiet street with excellent old town access. There are many dining options and shopping close. Many attractions within walking distance. The staff was very friendly and informative. The room was well appointed, has a personal coffee maker, but lacks an electric hot water kettle.

Staff was amazing. Went out of their way to be helpful. Room overlooked the courtyard so it was quiet at night. My only complaints are that WiFi didn’t work in our room so we had to go to the lobby to use it, and that our room had 5 stairs between the bathroom and wardrobe area up from the sleeping area . Location was perfect- walked everywhere. Good breakfast. I recommend!

Great location. Excellent staff. The room I stayed in did not have an AC. I had to content myself with a fan and open windows. The windows were facing the inner courtyard wich tended to be noisy in the mornings. Same with the door to the room which was not sound proof in the least which made it somewhat hard to sleepin in the morning. The rooms had actual keys and not the digital cards that almost all other hotels have now a days and it felt somewhat archaic. But the staff was excellent and the breakfast was great!

Quite a unique hotel, not a chain, so very friendly staff. Can’t put a finger on it, but really enjoyed my stay from the moment the receptionist gave me a map of the local area, she was full of enthusiasm and could see her love for the city Location is excellent, we booked the economy room, but ended up in a standard one; which was a nice surprise. Full of charm and character, excellent Elemis toiletries, quiet location (maybe it was the off season). Room wasn’t modern (but that’s not the point of this hotel) but was comfortable, bed was big (little too soft for me). Had a Nespresso machine. Breakfast was excellent, hot items were made to order.

Hospitable service over-all. The ManagerJonathan's carrying my luggage up the stairs was a nice touch. All 3 shift front desk staff were helpful and very friendly. Rich and satisfying breakfast, unbeatable location. No elevators and a bit too loud a street on weekend nights.

An ideal location in the city centre just off the square. Friendly staff who were very helpful especially considering my lost lugagge--great tips for affordable places to shop outside the tourist areas. Generally clean. I'm sorry I didn't manage to use the sauna!

Jonathan our host was super accommodating, we arrived a little earlier than our check-in time but our room was ready which was great. We were offered a complimentary drink on arrival, had a chat with our host who shared all the best sightseeing destinations for our time in Tallinn. Fantastic stay literally moments from the main town square. All areas of the hotel were spotless and my room was a good size and the bed very comfortable. Breakfast was fantastic, hot options were cooked to order meaning all nice and fresh and there was a good selection of continental as well. Can’t put a finger on it, but really enjoyed my stay from the moment the receptionist gave me a map of the local area, she was full of enthusiasm and could see her love for the city Location is excellent, we booked the economy room, but ended up in a standard one; which was a nice surprise. Full of charm and character, excellent Elemis toiletries, quiet location (maybe it was the off season). Room wasn’t modern (but that’s not the point of this hotel) but was comfortable, bed was big (little too soft for me). Had a Nespresso machine. Breakfast was excellent, hot items were made to order.

Wonderful hotel, perfectly located just a few steps from the town hall square. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, always a pleasure to walk by the reception desk to see them. Rooms were large, very comfortable. Would definitely stay there again.

Hotel's garden patio was messy and over half of this small area was covered with a tarp and furnutures were piled. The rooms don't have air conditioner. The bed was good and cleaning the room, even tough they didn't change the sheets . The breakfast wasn't as good as it has been. We had to order separately warm breakfast such as bacon, eggs, porridge. On the second morning the waitress took my order but didn't ever serve it, even tough I made the order 30 min before breakfast was run out, and waitress disappeared from the breakfast area. The location of the hotel is really good. With small and easy changes our stay could be better (breakfast and cleaning the patio).

First, be aware that there is no elevator, and there's about 50 steps to the 3rd floor rooms. Other than that, a modest hotel in a great, quiet location in Tallinn's Old Town. Easy walking to restaurants and sights. One nice thing: they'll cook eggs to order for breakfast, which I enjoyed a lot.

When I booked the room 6 months ago it was advertised as with AC. It does not have AC. It looks like there is a defunct AC unit in the room but it does not have a remote to turn it on. When I brought it up with the staff I was told that I was mistaken and that so few of the AC units work that they would never advertise that any rooms have AC. The room was ground level and the window went straight to the courtyard entry where everyone walked by when it was open.
