Staff were excellent, efficient and friendly. Especially Rita, It was a very warm day And she kindly located a fan for us, Which she left in our room as she had promised which was very much appreciated. We also saw her again at breakfast, She was friendly and efficient. The breakfast was lovely, excellent choice and good quality. Nice big car park So easy to park and no extra charge. Rooms were lovely, newly decorated and the bed was very comfortable. Would definitely recommend and we will be coming back again. Thank you

Really nice stay at a fairly new pub with rooms. Room was very comfortable and staff were excellent. We ate in the restaurant and the food was very good. Breakfast was also excellent with local meat products. Good range of drinks in the bar with a choice of real ales and craft beers.

Wow This place is one of the best places we stayed in Very welcoming, very clean and tidy room with good size shower and bathroom Service excellent, food excellent, nothing was to much trouble They cater for your dog/dogs and a lovely little seize for them waiting in the room

We are so glad that we found The Ropemaker! The service was amazing - everyone was so friendly and polite. We had our dog with us, and he was made to feel very welcome and made a fuss of, and received his own welcome gift, and a large bed and bowl set to use during his stay. We booked a 'Fancy Room' and it was so comfortable! The bed was large and we slept very well each night. The bar service was very efficient and friendly, and the food was delicious, at both breakfast and dinner. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them, or to visit again.

The hotel is very newly renovated, the room was very spacious and comfortable with lots of amenities such as a fridge, safe, ironing board etc. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was very good and made to order, overall it was a lovely experience.

The Ropemaker was a very nice place to stay, comfortable bed and very clean. The staff were extremely pleasant and dinner was good. The only reason for “4” was the the room was uncomfortably hot on the particular night I stayed, a fan was provided but not enough for heat so didn’t have a full night sleep however, on a cooler night I am sure there would be no issues.

Fabulous hotel. Beautiful, clean, comfy rooms. Little extras in the room were a lovely touch. Bed and pillows super comfy. The room was large and well decorated and maintained. The hotel was very well presented and in pristine condition. The staff were all lovely. The restaurant served delicious food. Slightly more expensive than normal but well worth it. We would go back for sure.

Friendly staff. Hotel clean and tidy with some lovely touches. Our room rather Snug as the name suggested, downside to our room was it got extremely hot and the noise from the air conditioning unit was too noisy also the banging of the door to downstairs. Would stay again but not that size room or that room (34)

Boiling hot room, needs air con! Had to relax in room with door to corridor propped open. Room 33 above kitchen with bottles being emptied into recycling. Noisy! Hence free ear plugs in room?! Not exactly a ‘really comfy’ room! I’m guessing a room saved for people paying with a voucher. Even so, this room was £170 a night! Not happy at all.

We stayed at the Ropemaker for five nights and thoroughly enjoyed the hotel and its restaurant. We had a lovely king-size bed that was very comfortable. The room had a portable air conditioning unit that kept it very cool, which we appreciated. However, it is noisy at night. The outdoor bar area is super cute and has little cabanas that seat about 4 guests. We'll definitely stay here again.

Second visit and the hotel coverall was very good. However, the weather was very warm and so was the room with no air conditioning. Unfortunately the windows could only be partly opened due to security cables. Only a duvet was provided but far too warm for use. A sheet would have been good but not provided. A fan was provided but not that useful. So overall sleep difficult.

Great stay, very comfy but just to say the Snug Room is very snug, we are used to a king size bed, so a double up against the wall was a bit too cosy for us. Restaurant lovely and we would definitely stay again but probably pay for the next room size up.

This place is a serious find, loved it from start to finish. Beautiful bar, restaurant and rooms, everything was perfect, I was massively impressed. And to the person who checked us in (feel bad I didn’t get their name) and also served us in the restaurant was literally like Mary Poppins, big thank you. We will most certainly return.

Check in was easy and they had given us an upgrade which was a bonus. Room very comfortable and clean. Tea, coffee machine and proper milk. A very special treat were some sweet treats. Had an evening meal and both chose burgers which we enjoyed. Small menu but was ok. Excellent sleep in a huge bed, room very dark so slept in. Breakfast had a good choice that was cooked to order. Can recommend the smoked salmon and scrambled egg on toast. All the staff were friendly and worked hard. Thank you

Perfect for meeting up with friends. Liked variety of menu choice - and we all enjoyed our choices. Breakfast was expensive as all items individually priced (fruit over £5 which I chose to add to muesli). Nice relaxed feel; staff lovely and room very comfortable.
