Oakridge Resort Lake Wanaka

We were a bit disappointed we aren’t advised that the swimming facilities were getting serviced prior to us arriving at the resort. We had booked at Oakridge especially for the pools and spas, and they only had the lap pool available which was freezing cold.

Great pools but unsafe to get in and out if unsteady on your feet. Likewise the bath-shower didn’t have a nonslip mat.

We had an enjoyable time here and would return. However, there were a few areas that should be addressed. - As others have indicated, the WiFi is basically unusable. I had to use my phone’s hotspot as the WiFi speed was so poor. - One of the bathrooms in our two-bedroom apartment smelled very strongly of cigarettes. Every time we ran the water, the smell was stronger. Maybe someone put cigarette butts down the drain? This remained through our stay even though we ran the fan and had the window open. - The main door into the room from outside is frosted glass but has a 3cm clear border all the way around. There is no blind or curtain that can be closed and nothing blocking the view to the bed or bathroom. This means that neighbours walking by could catch a glimpse of more than they bargained for. A side effect of not having a curtain or blind on this door is that at night, you can’t have a completely dark room as there are porch and carpark lights that come in the door. - Two of the hot pools were out of order and one of them was open but only lukewarm. This meant that we had to wait for someone to vacate one of the working pools for us to use it. Side note that none of the spa pools had bubbles/jets which would have greatly enhanced the experience.

Friendly staff, accommodating. Amazing Fitness Centre - probably the best hotel one I've used. Great Pools and Spa's.

Lovely spot with best gym facilities we have ever seen. No time to use pool and spa pool sadly. The offered WiFi is however very substandard so don’t rely on it for use. Without this a great spot in the most wonderful town.

Great rooms with beautiful views & the pool with lots of spa pools was a bonus.

We have stayed at this property few times over the past 15yrs. The rooms need updated the tv in bedroom didn't work unless we had a DVD which who these days has that. The tv was attached to the wall & pointing the bathroom we couldn't watch in bed easily even if it was working which wasn't ideal considering how tired we were we wanted to lay in bed with tv. The carpet edge to bathroom had nails exposed which we found by standing on them wasn't impressed. The bathroom door has not been cleaned which is disgusting with all the hands that touch it. The couch needs a good clean also you can see the filth. So this time would say unimpressed. Only one large heated pool available & the temperature has been set low so I wouldnt class it as heated it use to be so much nicer 😔 we booked for the pools and it was a let down too cold to be in

Not within walking distance cbd. Easy parking. Could be cleaner cob webs on walls. Old and worn looking. Heated pools not working but apparently fixed after. Noisy. Clearly a 2 story townhouse that has been converted to self contained room downstairs and 2 separate hotel type rooms upstairs. Hence rooms not soundproof to the point you can hear people going to the toilet upstairs- right above bed. 3 star property.

Great pool, really nice room!

Overall, very amenable rooms and service. The pools (tes, plural) and particularly the gym were fantastic 👌

The room was very small, no insulation / sound proofing, I could hear the attached room occupant take a pee, wash there hands and even close or open there door😳. No AC and 6 channels on the 📺. We had a dirty towel hanging on the back of our door when we checked in. The bed was ok. We paid less for other places during our 3 weeks in NZ and got a lot more. I would not recommend this place.

Really friendly and helpful staff. The rooms were well kept and the heated pool was wonderful!

Staff were super friendly and the place was nice and clean

Unit 14 had water ingress damage that was unsatisfactory. The bathroom layout was poor with a pedestal basin unable to be used for face washing due to a glass shelf immediately above it. The mirror was not above the basin meaning any shaving was unsatisfactory dropping water on the floor. The water damage to the door frames was disgusting. The towel hook was so small it could barely hold a face flannel. I am happy to provide photo images if you request it from me.

The facilities cannot be faulted. Our apartment was spacious and very clean. Bedding was comfortable. The views were outstanding.

Shower didn’t work properly The toilet is next to glass shower door, You need to seat sideways to do your thing There is no wifi , unbelievable? unfortunately there are still places that don’t have a working wifi

호수에서 멀리 떨어진 단체관광객용 대형 콘도. 에어컨도 없고 히터는 작성이 안됨. 콘도 룸이 빽빽하게 붙어있어 방음도 안됨.

A comfortable room with a great view.

The place has no air condition at all, so if it’s summer and warm the room is an inferno!!

I thought there might be a.microwave and more outlets

One night stay here while doing road trip around South Island. Room was clean, bed comfortable. Only negative would be walls very thin, you could here snoring from another room, and a very loud conversation from room next door before 7am.

Great value, excellent accommodation, nice to have 1BR apartment to spread around in. 3 km from town, only annoyance is wifi was incredibly bad and the property is in something of a cellular “hole” so neither data connection worked very well. May be unique to our unit (103h but would be a problem if we were staying for more than a few nights or needed to work.

This hotel was a pretty good price for a couple of nights stay in Wanaka. Seemed a lot of bus loads of tourist groups use it so lots of comings and goings. Bed was comfortable, shower was average. Nothing much in the room apart from a couple of cups, glasses and teaspoons. (needed to go and ask for a knife). Rooms were not serviced unless asked for specifically however, fresh towels were provided when asked for. Staff were friendly and helpful. Nice pool facilities.

Very nice room and supportive staff

Super friendly staff. They were hard workers, cleaning in the mornings and painting in the afternoon. I lied that someone was always around to ask questions or offer help.

Tried to charge us twice for drinks we had. Hot water took a long time to start in the shower. “King” bed was just 2 single beds that came apart both nights and could feel the mattress edges, when we asked to fix this they simply made the bed, left the wet towels lying on the floor. Spa and gym is good but for the price I won’t stay again.

Das Hotelresort ist in die Jahre gekommen. Bsp. die Pool Anlage. Von 5 Hotpools war einer defekt. Bei den anderen vier gab es kein Sprudel. Obwohl Düsen vorhanden waren. Ich habe für ein Zimmer CHF 215 bezahlt. Viel zu teuer im Vergleich zu anderen Möglichkeiten in Neuseeland. CHF 100.- wäre der Max. Preis den ich bezahlen würde. Ich buchte das Resort, weil es Luxery stand. Das Personal war ok aber nicht gerade flexibel. Das Zimmer war um 15 Uhr bereit. Ich war mit meiner Frau um 11 Uhr dort und sie teilten mir mit, dass ich erst um 15 Uhr einchecken kann. Als ich 14.40 Uhr nochmals nachfragte, war sie etwas genervt. Die Waschmaschine Laundery funktionierte auch nicht so wie wir es erwartet haben. Rechts oder Links Geldeinwurf, wir wussten nicht ob Rechts für Tumbler oder Waschmaschine war. Dann klemmte es mit dem Geldeinwurf. 1 Std. später hat sie dies beschriftet, welcher Coin für welche Waschmaschinentyp war. Zuguterletzt hatten wir eine grössere Spinne auf unserem Bett. Cool, als ich diese einfangen wollte, kroch sie unters Bett.

Nice pool area, room spacious, modern, bed good, washing machine and dryer a great plus. Staff at reception friendly but not properly trained. I.e they told me they would not serve breakfast due to staff shortage,yet it turned out the following morning there had been breakfast.

Outstanding customer service

The resort was really good for the pools, the relaxing feel to it, and just out of the busy heart of Wanaka. It was a great place to relax after a few days of tramping.

Great spacious apartment style accommodation with everything you need. We only stayed one night but it has everything needed for longer stays. Professional service on check in and check out. The communal areas are really nice, really enjoyed the pools and hot tubs, lovely to soak in as the sun went down. Had dinner at the onsite restaurant with lovely service and reasonably priced food. A good morning walk down to the Wanaka lakefront took about 30 minutes.

Lovely apartment with everything provided. Huge balcony with views over the mountains. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed, as it was full every day with group bookings, and one day the bar was closed too. In the apartment the shower was running cold. Maintenance tried to fix it, but it still didn’t work. Hence the 4 star rating, but everything else was great

Rooms where clean and son had a room to himself which he enjoyed, pool and hot tub were great to use after days activities, bar could have been open more but realise it's late in season.

Unfortunately the restaurant was closed both days I stayed there.

Lovely place to stay. Beautiful apartment with a lovely view. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed for supper the evening we arrived and we hadn’t been notified until our arrival. Facilities were excellent and clean. Bed was comfortable. View was stunning. Unfortunately our outside door to the apartment opened during the night. Slightly unsettling.
