Beautiful hotel and grounds! Staff were friendly and helpful. We stayed there because of the Rocky Horror Picture Show being filmed there, but we’d stay here for any reason.

Stayed 3 nights

We booked a 3-night stay at Oakley Court but ended up leaving a day early due to a very disappointing experience. Our room was not cleaned properly on arrival—the bedsheet had stains, there was a hair in the bathtub. We reported this the next morning and were told housekeeping would resolve it immediately. However, in the evening, bedsheets hadn’t even been changed, and the glasses had stains on them. The hotel advertises two restaurants, but the River House (part of Soho house) is only open on weekends and offers almost the same menu as the main restaurant. Despite being described as “seasonal,” the menu was mainly pizzas, toasties, salads, with very limited choice. After two days, we were already fed up. Room service after 9pm was even worse, offering only a few toasties. When we complained, the only solution was to drive to another restaurant whose kitchen was closing in 15 minutes. This wasn’t a practical solution, leaving us with no real choice but to eat the same food again. Service throughout the hotel was poor. We sat outside at the River House for 20 minutes before discovering it was self-service, with no signage or staff informing us. The manager’s response to our complaints was dismissive and sarcastic, saying this was “the first time anyone had complained” instead of trying to resolve the issues. A beautiful property let down by poor housekeeping, misleading dining options, poor service, and disappointing management.
