Shore Cliff Hotel

We chose the Deluxe Room, 1 King Bed (Pier & Ocean View King). It did not disappoint. The view was breathtaking. The bed and pillows are very comfortable. The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable. The pool was a dream, nothing like swimming in a heated pool and seeing the ocean when you get up. There are 3 restaurant options within 15 minutes walking distance, which is fantastic when you want to celebrate and leave the car. There is a small walkway connecting the hotel to other cliffside hotels (stunning views), and there is a staircase that leads to the beach. We recommend utilizing that beach access if you are okay to walk lots of stairs. In short, that was the perfect getaway. We left feeling like we made memories for life.

Loved the shorecliff hotel. I was upgraded to an ocean view room. Housekeeping made the room special for my wife’s birthday so shoutout to them! Staff was exceptional. Room was clean. Only downside was the hot tub was not working so we had to use the hotel next doors hot tub. Other than that everything else was great! I would definitely stay here again in the future

Staff was highly accommodating! Pool and hot tub were amazing. A lot of construction going on right now. No lights on the entrance made us miss the driveway more than once. Room was comfortable. AC unit was kind of loud. A great location with an easy walk to the beach (got some stairs though). I would highly recommend the Shore Cliff Hotel and we will be back!

We had a wonderful stay at Shore Cliff Hotel. Of course the views were stunning and the rooms were nice but the staff was particularly awesome! They helped with everything from early check in, local recommendations, telling us about the amenities (weekend yoga, beach chairs and umbrella to borrow) and even sent over dish soap so we could wash our sons bottles. They were awesome and so was our stay! Would come back in the future.

I wish the Hotels.com would let you know when a property is under renovation. I’ve been to this hotel a dozen times now and this was by far the worst experience. Half of the hotel is closed for renovation and the half that is open is not in very good shape. The rooms are awesome, but the amenities are seriously lacking. They charge a “resort fee” of $40 for one day but have pretty meh amenities. A very tired gym and a tiny swimming pool, particularly given that this property appears to have nearly 100 rooms. Incidentally, they charge a $15 parking fee, which isn’t disclosed in the Hotels.com and Tac this on after you have already booked. So much for full disclosure prior to booking 😡 They do host a hot breakfast, which is on par with the lower median of hot breakfast hotels. Beware… A tough thing for many is it’s a three-story building and the elevator is out of order. Having said all that it’s a beautiful view and has such great potential. Not exactly sure why but the check-in staff are really crabby and not helpful at all. Maybe it’s because they’re tired of all the construction around the site. I don’t really know why it’s gone downhill so fast but hopefully, with any luck at all, it will go uphill equally as fast once they finish the other half of the hotel. I really hate slamming this place because I used to love it, but given the added on charges and the poor customer service, I feel like I have to reach out to my fellow traveler.

We had a lovely View from our balcony room of the waves, seabirds and the lighthouse far off in the distance. Very good breakfast with great coffee. Outdoor pool was warm very clean. Really enjoyed our stay here we'll be back.

While I love staying here and have done so many times the hotel is under construction and it was rather nosey and half the main parking lot was blocked off. That being said the hotel now has ACE parking charging $15 per day to park at the hotel above the room cost and onsite fees. Frankly I feel this is a money grab on the hotels part as there is no non paid parking options for guests.

This impressive hotel resort did not disappoint! Incredible views at every turn, nice oceanside pool and spa, stunning grounds with picturesque paths, firepits, and comfortable seating throughout. Rooms and amenities exceptionally clean, staff incredibly kind and polite, nice eBikes had the first hour free and easy to use. LOVED the beach access path to the stairs with a quiet almost private feeling. The November weather was also remarkable and rooms were about fully booked yet the place was staffed very well and the resort could easily handle the capacity. Also went to Ventana Grill next door and had a phenomenal meal at sunset. Superb weekend!

Great location, view, quiet area, near by restaurant, acess to beach and heated pool.

Elevator was out had to walk up three flights of stairs no help at six in the morning when checking out light out front was out been out I guess for two weeks couldn’t recognize a place or find it driving past. It won’t stay there again.

The room was very clean and freshly painted. It was a terrific overnight day.

The parking lot had a sticky spill near the front door that was not cleaned up right away. I would have rated the hotel higher but I was given the impression that my Expedia package was inclusive of the room charge but the were resort and parking fees added at checkout. This should have been told to me at check-in. Very annoying way to depart.

I had to check in late at night and the desk clerk was very friendly. Answered all of my questions and gave me very clear directions to my room, which was very clean and very comfortable. Would definitely stay here again!

Marketing misleading, not a resort, no spa facility and they definitely allow pets, beware for those who have allergies or low immune system. This place is more like a very expensive one star Motel with one amenity (pool), on a cliff overlooking the ocean. I can only describe it as outdated, under repairs, seedy, dirty, Mildew in the shower grout, and infested with ants and flies in room, on furniture and in bed!

Seagulls and wildlife have literally dumped pounds of excrement all over the rooftops of the main building and adjoining building. In addition to Tilford all of the vehicles in the parking lot. This is a central meeting point and gear marked by the seagulls with their yearlings and they run the entire exterior and perimeter of the building And all of the inhabitants bring your umbrellas or wear a thick hat that you don’t mind discarding after your visit… front desk upon checkout needs a lot to be desired in terms of courtesy and professionalism advice is go next-door on I side bypass all the excrement and odor and deal with somebody that smiles..

Stayed at the Shore Cliff in late July. The average nightly rate was between $500-$530 prior to the $40 per night resort fee and $15 parking. At this significant cost, and additional resort fee, we selected this hotel specifically to relax at the pool based on the upscale photos on the website. We were severely disappointed in our stay. The smell of the seagulls and pelicans was so strong it was nauseating sitting by the pool and from our balconies. However, it was the absolutely disgusting lack of cleanliness of the entire property with the bird feces that was the real issue. The seagulls were everywhere, screaming extremely loud 24 hours a day, and pooped all over the grounds. To make it worse, all the pool chair covers were soaked with water and covered in poop. So you had to miserably lay on wet soggy pool cushions covered in poop. Not to mention all the seagulls screaming and flying around the pool, but also in the pool itself, which is unsanitary. It was obvious, from the spider webs full of feathers and poop on the walkways, stairs, and pool that no action is being taken to address it. At $500 a night, the hotel should be power washing and sanitizing and cleaning all surfaces throughout the summer or warn guests. Other hotels next door had zero issues. When told, the hotel responded “it’s hard to keep up with the birds”. Then don’t charge $500 a night and a resort fee if you can’t offer high end accommodations that are clean and sanitary. Never going back.

This was a clean and updated hotel! All rooms have a great view. Gave us an Up grade due to the noisy room above us. Polite and friendly front staff!

I would rate the hotel much higher but there seems to be no insulation between rooms. Heard drunk people next door late into the night. Heard neighbors TV and talking on the other side as well.

Great property. Location was great next to the Ventana Grill. We were on the first floor and you could hear everybody walking around on the second floor. That was a bummer. Also, the front door was not sealed well and you could hear the highway.

Balcony offered amazing views, was a bit unfortunate due to weather to not use the amenities. Special thanks to Elizabeth from housekeeping that made beautiful swans and rose petal designs for our anniversary stay! Very much appreciated!!!

The newly renovated rooms are 1000% nicer because of the renovations and my view is spectacular. I extended my stay two more nights and was moved to a newly renovated room.

The room was excellent and roomy. The staff was friendly and welcoming.

Considering it was a one day getaway, we didn’t find out until the day before it was under construction. The noise was limited but the elevator was out of order so it was an inconvenience. The room was very clean but the pillows were worn out and very uncomfortable. We were hoping to hear more of the ocean waves but felt the freeway noise was alot louder. The check in was pretty easy. Parking was convenient. The view was a beautiful and were able to see the sunset.

We arrived about 2 hours before check in. I was told they couldn’t check me in until 4pm & that they would call me to let me know when my room was ready. We left & ate dinner, come 4:30 I never received a call so we went back to see if we could check in & yep we could. Communication is key & I feel they lacked on that, everything else was great.

The property was under construction, jack hammer noise all day. No mention of construction when I booked my stay. The lady at the check in desk was rude. I showed up at 3:30 pm and she rudely said check in time isn't until 4 and that would have to wait. Meanwhile she continues to check in other guests while I sat in the lobby and observe. Her name was Lulu. I am not accustomed to that kind of treatment and it left a bad taste to start my stay. She also charged me an $80. resort fee. That was not mentioned during booking either. I would like my $80. back.

Breakfast was over crowded and woefully short on food coming out of the kitchen. It said free breakfast but we didn’t get to eat it due to lack of food coming out. Beautiful property, great location but the experience certainly feel short.

Had a wonderful stay at Shore Cliff Hotel! The views of the ocean were stunning, the room was clean and comfortable, and the staff was friendly and helpful. A peaceful, relaxing spot — perfect for a coastal getaway.

The property is actually a bit far from the downtown Pismo Beach and at the edge of the hotels it is neighboring with. So you don't get to experience the actual feeling of Pismo Beach ambiance. But, the good thing about this is actually avoiding the crowd of Pismo Beach which was the side of this place that I would not miss. Staying in this hotel avoids all those stuff and still able to experience Pismo Beach as it is. Quiet and clean, great views and cozy feelings. This is what I got from staying at Shore Cliff Hotel. Highly recommended.

Beautiful property right on yhe ocean. Beach access & great restaurants very close. Hiking in Pismo reserve right across the road. Mattress on bed too soft for me, though.

Overall, the property is perfectly situated on the bluff with million-dollar views overlooking Pismo Beach. The location is conveniently close to downtown and adjacent to a couple of top-rated seafood restaurants. I highly recommend making this a stop on your next getaway.

The room was clean and comfortable. The view of ocean, beach, and Pismo pier was beautiful. The breakfast was a little disappointing. Was supposed to serve until 10 and we arrived at nine and there was no food at that time. Some food came out piecemeal after that.

Great Pismo Beach location with Pismo Reserve nearby for hiking/mountain biking. While the hotel does not have a restaurant it does offer a daily hot and cold breakfast selection and there are numerous nearby restaurants for lunch and dinner.

We loved our stay! The property grounds and ocean views are beautiful. You can tell it's an older property, but the rooms have been remodeled. The pool could use an update, and there was some construction happening during our visit. As a result, if you needed to use the bathroom, you'd have to go to your room or the reception area. The rooms were beautiful, clean, and had a luxurious scent. We also received a complimentary bottle of wine from a local winery, which was a lovely touch. The ladies at reception were all extremely kind and welcoming. There was a situation where we requested for one of the fire pits to be turned on, and it took over an hour for the service person to arrive. However, the reception staff apologized and offered us another bottle of wine for the inconvenience. It wasn’t necessary, but we truly appreciated the gesture and the attention to guest satisfaction. The breakfast buffet was decent, but for the level of service and the type of hotel, we believe the variety and quality could be improved. The beach access is within walking distance, and the path is very convenient—connecting other properties and offering an enjoyable walk with amazing views. Overall, we would definitely recommend this place and can’t wait to come back again!

Wonderful location. Amazing views. The continental breakfast was below average. Otherwise very nice.

We were greeted with a very friendly front desk girl, Jami, who gave us lots of recommendations. The hotel is VERY clean, even the carpets. I noticed carpet cleaning pad outside the door of rooms being clean. No musty smell at all. You have to take a little walk to get to the beach access, but not far and it's a lovely walk. Breakfast was ok, not bad, not great. The coffee is GREAT and it's available with to-go cups all day and all night. We loved that. I always take my own hand soap and lotion but I tried theirs and I loved it. It's very high end and I purchased a lotion to take home. The room has a nice balcony, refrigerator, coffee pot with a big selection of tea and coffee, and has a microwave. The location is minutes from the Pismo Pier. ALL staff were very accommodating. The shower head is the only complaint I have. Very little pressure. No detachable head, I will definitely stay here again.

Third time staying here and will for sure come back. Ocean views can’t be beat. Staff is always super nice. The breakfast is the best I’ve had in a hotel setting.
