Darling hotel in a great location. First floor is really cool with library, reading room, gym and bar. Decorated so cute. We were in a room with wall connecting to elevator that I could hear all night long, so wouldn’t recommend any room ending in 6, but would definitely stay there again. Every staff member we encountered (front desk, valet, bartenders) all very helpful.

The Georgian is a wonderful hotel. Historic with lots of style. Our suite overlooked the beach/ocean. The sunsets were spectacular. Also, the staff was fantastic. FYI: Two brief negatives: 1 --- The common areas of the hotel were a bit worn … and seemingly, not cleaned on a daily basis. 2--- The elevator is old … and very slow.

Love this charming property. However, they need to improve their elevators. They are outdated and take forever! Also, had a less than favorable interaction with a member of the restaurant staff. I asked to view a menu and she told me I needed to walk outside to look there. It was a bit cold and the only reason I was considering not walking somewhere was to avoid going outside.

I thought that $80 for overnight parking was quite expensive, and I was surprised by the $39 charge for amenities. I didn’t realize that the glass of wine offered upon arrival was complimentary, nor did I know about the gym and other facilities available to guests. Unfortunately, I recently had eye surgery, so I couldn’t take advantage of any of those amenities anyway. I suppose that’s just the price you pay for staying near the ocean in Santa Monica. However, I would still recommend this place. 👀If you stay in an odd-numbered room, it can be very noisy since the dumpsters are located right outside the window. Be sure to request a room on the opposite side for a quieter experience.

Renovations completed 6 months ago to Santa Monica’s oldest “high rise” hotel. They kept the old world feel to the hotel while providing top notch amenities. Great location overlooking Santa Monica beach and pier. Excellent food and bar in hotel with even more in walking distance. Ask management for an invitation tot he “speak easy”. Expensive but we loved it!

Friendly staff, historical building and location, close to beach and shopping. No great parking alternatives to valet ($65/night), sparsely equipped room, very limited accessible features

10/10 loved the stay. Bar is small but nice, The Georgian Room under the hotel was great. Right across from the beach. Walls are definitely a little thin but it's not a deal breaker

One day we came back to our room at dinner time and it still had not been cleaned. We had to call down and ask for it to be freshened up. Other than that, good service.

We had an ocean front room so there wasn't much to not like. Until the elevator acted up and we had to walk down from the 8th floor. Staff suggested that it was our fault (like it was the first time we had ever used and elevator) (NOT). It either got fixed or the glitch was transient. Either way we lost trust in the elevator after that.

Lovely hotel on seafront location in Santa Monica. Nice rooms with lovely decor. Complimentary filter coffee in the lobby (no facilities in the room) from 6-7am, complimentary beach towels when going to the beach (5 min walk) and bikes available for free to explore Santa Monica (although only 2 bikes for the entire hotel so may have yo wait if other guests are using). Overall, would definitely recommend.

The room had great ambiance. It was very aesthetic and clean. One room was ready at 4 when we checked in, but the other wasn't ready until after 530. The person who did our check in was trying to upcharge us to a room with an ocean view. We said we weren't interested. Then, when the second room was ready, he called us to see if we wanted a city view for an additional $$. We got our bill from the hotel after we left, and we got charged $3 for the kind campaign. We never agreed to that. Nice hotel but felt pressured for $$.

The architecture of the hotel is gorgeous. It felt like a Raymond Chandler novel. Overlooking the ocean and in a great walking area. It was wonderful, but could have been a bit cleaner in the bathroom and, for some reason, there was no hand soap provided.

The room & the bathroom are really nice, clean, and authentic. It represents the sense of the 1900s with a little modernized taste. Very interesting decor. We really like it.

Outstanding location and really cool, old school vibes. Service was impeccable. Room was spacious and clean. Bed was comfortable. Only complaint: AC unit in room was very loud. Love this spot but tough when you can’t get a great night sleep.

Noisy, only one operating elevator for service staff and guests, no lounge for guests to relax because entire front section of main floor is packed with restaurant tables and bar seating; not greeted by bellhop upon arrival, nobody available at check-in desk for several minutes; tiny gym with minimal equipment and no room to stretch or do floor cardio; bathtub faucet drips after use making the bath not relaxing. “City view” room was just a view of a loading dock, dumpsters, and the hotel fire escape and exterior hvac system; drugged out zombies everywhere roaming outside the hotel at all times of day and night. I was hopeful after the recent renovations but this is not a luxury hotel. They put lipstick on a pig

Really neat hotel. Enjoyed the library. Staff was very kind. My only complaint was the shower soaks the entire bathroom because the shower is half open.

The location is wonderful and we really enjoyed the bar and restaurant. The rooms are a bit small but comfortable.

Was told we would get champagne on check in but that never happened - they also gave us the keys but forgot what room they assigned us and so we had to go find our luggage after waiting for an hour - great and spacious room wih amazing views of the beach and ocean - despite the strange checkin process would stay again

Wonderful location. Lovely people if not slightly haphazard service though always super friendly. Room was lovely but lacking in a few key things: hanging space, shelving in bathroom, hooks for towels and robes, light switches defective.. . For that amount of money, I think it can be fully accessible for those who need — absolutely— and work for others who also use an accessible room. I would return if the manager walked around and ensured was functional :).

As much as I would like to give this hotel a great review, given how kind and solicitous the staff were, I cannot. The exterior of the hotel is lovely and classic art deco. The lobby, bar, restaurant, check-in area are all gorgeous and welcoming. The staff that we met were all friendly and ready to assist in any way. The issue was that once you got past the lobby and went up to your room, the charm and sense of glamor came to a full stop. Our room was on the second floor, with a neglected-looking apartment building direction across.. one could wave to and I’m sure have an unhindered conversation with the inhabitants across the bleak alleyway. Directly below us were rusty shipping containers, old rolled carpets, and other such dreariness. Not quite the “city view” as advertised. No sunlight, no views. The room itself was fairly barren. Nothing on the walls except a single mirror. A paucity of furnishings that did not feel comfortable or welcoming. A vintage ceiling light, which perhaps with incandescent bulbs would have had a pleasant illumination, but with (assuming) LED the number of lights lit up the space like a hospital room. No dimmable or low-glare lights. The bed did have a couple of small attached light fixtures, but these were insufficient, as one was broken. The bathroom was nicely tiled and the bed was comfortable, so there’s that. Overall, unfortunately, not a stay that was anywhere close to the $560+ nightly total we paid.

Billing was a nightmare. The price was $1300 for two nights. They add $250 a night as a hold for incidentals, so if you want to have a tiny can of pringles from your mini bar, no fret because you’ve already given them $500 for two nights to make sure you don’t skip out on your pringles. They charged me $1800 on my card then another 1300 once I checked out. So for a week after I left they had $3100 tied up of my money. It took a week to return the $1800. Their restaurant prices are absolutely insane. As a woman staying there by myself I felt very unsafe walking around at night given the homeless people screaming around the hotel. So I used Postmates for two tacos from a cheap place near by which cost $48 for one person. The point is, be prepared to absolutely bleed money. This hotel and this area destroyed my bank account and given the fact I never felt safe, had multiple homeless people scream in my face, smelling pee and poop around the hotel, I wish I never booked this trip. I’ll never return to this hotel. You’re paying their insane rent, and any other city in America this would be a $100/night hotel.

Extraordinary service. The staff really caters to guests. It is a historic hotel that has been fully restored with decor that compliments its history and is impeccably maintained. Five star all the way.

I am of a certain age and almost all reviews do not tend to older women travelers. This hotel was amazing and it’s always the staff that makes it so. Everything about the hotel was amazing. I had a terrible migraine the first day and the care I received helped me through it. The rooms in a hotel are the same everywhere it will always be staff that makes a hotel successful. This hotel has been one of my favorites for almost 20 years.

We loved everything about this hotel. From Amanda at the front desk to the bar manager, we felt well taken care of. Excellent location.

The staff at this property were absolutely top notch. Made you feel so welcome. What a wonderful experience while traveling. You don't always get that.

The service was great. The staff was very pleasant and accommodating. The room was smaller than advertised on hotel.com, and was too small to accommodate two people. Tiffany the room manager was very understanding and was able to move us to a larger room which was very comfortable and greatly appreciated. From there the experience was excellent. (although a very minor item is the coffee machines never worked).

I often never drop a comment but wanted to give this property and its staff two thumbs down!!! Super unhelpful staff. Will never ever stay here again.

We had a lovely stay at the Georgian Hotel, which is across the street from the beach with a beautiful view.

We found this hotel on Hotels.com and really liked it. The location (across the street from the beach in Santa Monica) was terrific, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the hotel was a delight to stay in. The atmosphere and decor is a fun, art deco vibe in keeping with its history. We would stay here again.

I stayed in an Ocean front room which was wonderful. Walking up to Santa Monica beach. Very comfortable bed and pillows. Quirky interiors. The food at the restaurant was spectacular. Service excellent. Ammenities excellent. I’ll be staying again!

When I wanted to have a table for the breakfast, host said that all tables were booked for a few months ahead while at least four tables were available. Eventually they seated me and for 30-40 minutes these tables were unoccupied.

The cocktails and meals were delicious, I had breakfast lunch and dinner. Hotel beautiful and really fun to even just walk through. But the staff really shined, I felt welcomed and like I could ask for anything and it would happen right then. I really enjoyed my stay and will definitely come back my next time in town!

Fabulous hotel. Beautifully decorated. Feels like i time traveled back to the 40s having a business/romantic weekend with my husband. Just such a classy place all around - from the service to the decor to the amazing food at the restaurant. Will definitely return.

The dining and service are exceptional.

Every member of the Georgian team is exceptional, friendly and professional. The restaurant is superb and the bar is a must for cocktails, and coffee the morning after. It's the perfect boutique hotel experience!
