Howard Johnson by Wyndham Torrance

There’s a carpeted outdoor corridor with duct tape and stains to get to the rooms. In the room, the A/C unit is very loud and the walls/floors seem to be paper thin. The shower has a shampoo/conditioner combo bottle, but no body wash…the body wash is at the sink and is bolted to the wall. The light over the sink would flicker like a scary movie and only worked when it wanted to. I realize this is a low cost place and that you get what you pay for, but this place is pushing it. Extremely disappointing. The room was clean, sheets clean, and bathroom worked well. Parking is extremely limited, but is free. There’s a mini fridge and microwave in room. The front desk ladies were very nice. Didn’t try the breakfast, but it is Belgian waffles, coffee, and juice. Would not stay here again.

I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights, and it was one of the worst experiences I have ever had. Housekeeping never cleaned my room unless I repeatedly asked for towels. The TV did not work when I arrived and had to be repaired. There was a large spider in my room, and later I found ants in the bathroom. The room was dirty, and I noticed signs of poor maintenance and humidity. The staff promised to move me to another room while I was at Disneyland, but when I returned after midnight, nothing had been done. They gave me different excuses and left my family without a clean room. We were exhausted, traveling with children, and had no choice but to stay there. This hotel was not clean, was poorly maintained, and did not provide the service that was promised. I am very disappointed and believe I deserve a refund or appropriate compensation. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. I told the front desk before I left for Disneyland that I would be back very late and asked them to move us to another room while we were gone. They said everything would be ready when I returned. However, when I came back at 12:20 a.m., they gave me a different story. They said they came to my room but no one was there, so they could not move us. That made no sense because I had already told them I would be at Disneyland all day. When I opened the door, the room had not been cleaned. There were no clean towels, and nothing had been done. My children and I were exhausted, so we had no choice 😡😡😡

I stayed on the second floor, but the noise from people walking on the floor above was extremely loud. I could also clearly hear water running in the bathroom and even babies crying, as the rooms had virtually no soundproofing. On top of that, there was an unpleasant odor in the room that was much worse than I expected. Because of these issues, I don't think I would ever stay here again. The noise made it very difficult to get a good night's sleep.
