The Lago Mar Beach Resort and Club

Amazing stay with the family! Pool area is aboslutely beautiful! The grounds are well maintained! Nice little park for the children between the pool area and beach! Ample options for dining on site as well as a little resort shop which offers many clothing options as well as toys for the little ones. All within a very short drive from the airport as well as the port! Beautiful resort! Loved our stay!.

Lago Mar is a lovely resort, with ease access to the beach ,2 large pools, live music. It is also nice for dining and you can expect a family and safe environment. This was my 5th trip with my family and want to go back.

Beautiful old-style beach resort, elegantly furnished, excellent dining options, excellent grounds and situated on a beautiful beach. Need a bonus? NO RESORT FEE to use pools, beach chairs, gym etc. A terrific hotel for families or couples, whether you're staying a couple of nights or all week.

We were coming back from a cruise and staying an extra day in Fort Lauderdale and I wanted to stay somewhere nice. This place fit the bill. Not only were we allowed to check in early, but we were upgraded to a nicer room that was quite spacious and had a balcony. The beach is right there and there is an adult only pool if we wanted to chill and relax. The staff answered all of my questions. The property offers laundry facilities for guests. There is also a spa, gym, and a variety of restaurants. I plan to go back.

Wonderful family resort with great amenities (pool, beach, mini golf, basketball, soccer, pickle ball, beach bar and restaurant). Highly recommend. We were here for a family vacation. Rooms were large (well worth the splurge for the ocean view), beds were comfortable, small kitchen appliances included. Parking was free! Only things to keep in mind is you have to drive to shopping and other restaurants (but close! About 10 min to main areas). Rentals for beach chairs and umbrellas are outrageous - about $60 a day. Also, everything you eat or drink does have to be charged to the room, but this was fine for us. Danny the bartender was amazing!! And daily room cleaning was spectacular.

I loved the adult pool and the beach was so clean. I think the hotel should offer free chairs for the beach ypu have to rent them daily. Otherwise everything was exceptionally great.

We had an excellent stay at Lago Mar. Wonderful facility and staff. We did wish more of the onsite dining options stayed open later (The Soda Shop, pool bar). Otherwise it was perfect!

Brought my 2 high school aged sons here in late June. We were here for AAU wrestling nationals at the convention center. Awesome location. The private beach was great and clean. Never a lot of people there which was a nice suprise. The adult pool was always quiet even when there were several people which was also rare. Servers came around every 20mins or so to take orders. My girlfriend went for a massage at the spa one day. She said it was one of the best she'd ever had, and she's been a massage therapist for 15years. Parking garage was very convenient and free, which compared to other hotels in the area was great. The food at the restaurants and breakfast was a bit above average but nothing to write home about. The rooms were clean. There are no ice machines. You have to go to the front desk an ask for ice, which seemed weird. We ended up just figuring out where the ice machine was hidden, and got it ourselves instead of bothering the workers. We had little coolers in the room for our things we took to the wrestling competitions each day. One thing to be aware of that was not listed: they charge your card $75 for every day that youre staying upon checking in. This is because anything you want to buy or rent there gets charged to your room. Restaurants, cabanas, drinks, massages...anything. They will not let you buy anything with your own money. They say it's because everything is for guests and members and is to keep the public out. Will stay here again.

Art Deco style. Loved the adult pool and many activities such as shuffle board, corn hole, volleyball amongst others.

From the time you walk in till you leave the staff here is outstanding. Pool and beach Manager is always making sure you have everything you need. The pool bar service is fantastic. You can’t go wrong with choosing Lago Mar!

Fantastic location with great beach, pool and view from the room. Noisy AC and highway of ants on our balcony the second (and last evening) where some drawbacks. But overall great!

Although the property is an older one, the facilities are very nice and provide a warm family “Old Florida” ambience. Sadly, we noticed significant inconsistencies in service. While some staff were outstanding, such as the female bartender in the bar most evenings, others seemed clueless about customer service. Housekeeping was inconsistent (one of our two rooms only received full housekeeping service 1 day during a 6 night stay). We found no towels by the pool and an indifferent attendant “oh, I guess I will have to go get some more. Should be back in about half an hour”. We also noticed trash cans that weren’t emptied around the property in several locations, and irregular service in the dining room (15 minute wait for ice water and a menu after being seated by the hostess). And room service trays were rarely collected. I really expect better service at these prices.

The rooms are spotless and the area is so calm and pleasant despite being located next to the port. I ver much enjoyed my stay and plan on staying there again in the future.

The woman that greeted us at the front desk was amazing. Overall the hotel was ok. I expected more for the price. The hotel buildings are not kept up and many parts smell old and musty. The bathroom baseboards and area around the bath tub were moldy and water damaged. Lastly, a waiter charged a gratuity on my account that I did not approve. I brought it to the attention of the front desk manager and he adjusted my bill, but for such an expensive hotel, I did not expect that, so review your charges. The outdoor area and beach area were very nice.

Beautiful beach and pool area and the staff was excellent -from the bellman to the front desk to the soda shop, resort shop and cabana reservation staff were all excellent as any 5 star hotels. The rooms had comfortable bedding but the decor is dated and the bathroom had some pests.

Hotel is wonderful! The pool areas are adorned with wonderful plants and palm trees. The inside of the hotel is gorgeous and spotless. We had an executive suite which was spacious and beautiful. The entire staff was very cordial and prompt. Also loved that the hotel is right on the beach. The quality of the food at the breakfast buffet was excellent.

Room was big and beds comfortable. Pool area was dirty with spilled food. Large puddle of backed up water from clogged drain. Bathroom wallpaper was taped to wall with masking tape where it was peeling away from wall. Food options were awful and berries had mold on them.

Nice place. Rooms a little dated but fine. Coffee in room excellent. No Ice machines. Need to go to front to get ice or wait to have some one deliver a bag. Not terrible but not perfect. Loaner tennis racquets Terrible. Courts really nice but bring your own if you want to play. Umbrellas and chairs for the beach NOT free and are expensive. $32 just for umbrella. Thought is came with resort fee. That was disappointing. Overall good stay.

Property staff was amazing. Property still has old-school charm, but definitely needs some updating in the rooms. Maybe take the old carpets out and put new flooring. Also, the balcony is very crowded with lots of chairs, including a long chair that does not fit on it well so you can not walk around easily

Our balcony had a beautiful view of the beach the room was beautifully appointed and the bed was very comfortable. I would definitely come back for another visit

My wife and I stayed at Lago Mar for the first time in late September. As it was off-season, the hotel was not crowded and the rates were heavily discounted. We booked a spacious oceanfront room — one bedroom king with 2 bathrooms — overlooking an expansive beach. The rooms and hotel are nostalgic with a 50s feel that transports you back in time. The service is great, restaurant(s) are terrific, and there are ample activity areas (putting course, shuffle board, two pools, etc.) on the property. While we sought a quiet vacation, the hotel seems perfect for families and young children as well. It is moderately priced, and delivers more than what you pay. We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 night stay and will undoubtedly return.

It was our first year anniversary and we did a staycation here. The hotel is the perfect location. The pools and the beach were great . The food at the pool and main dining room was good. Our suite was right next to the elevator and we couldn’t sleep i because we heard the loud elevator Every time someone used it . You could tell that the staff has been here for a long time Most were very friendly but a few were a little angry like they didn’t want to be there .

Really big rooms, nice staff

Hotel is the old fashioned type, that's not a problem. The room's bathroom required repairs-wall paper pilling off, tub drains slow, so you stand in the water while showering. Bath ventilation did not work at all.The frig was off with trey full of water. The balcony door didn't latch, so separate hardware was installed for security. Wonder, how they allowed people in in such conditions.

Amazing resort Older furnishings and dated but clean and best resort on Ft. Lauderdale beach. Nicole at the pool is great and all the staff were extremely accommodating. We had one bedroom poolside suite which was huge. Kitchenette and large balcony . Wish we could stay longer

Thank you for the lovely experience, we enjoyed the surprisingly amazing staff and service. Specifically Denis from the promenade bar, Erick in the outside pool area, and Ramon in the breakfast buffet, they all exceeded our expectations. Everything was very clean and there was a refreshing scent. We loved how there was fresh lemon water everywhere. Additionally there was lots of family friendly and fun activities in different areas such as the tennis/pickleball courts, beach volleyball, mini golf, and the kid's playground.We will return without a doubt.

We had some trouble with the payment while checking out.The lady has put another amount on the credit card than the bill said.We have to complain and get the money back from the credit card Company.

Room wasn’t ready and we had to wait for it to be cleaned which was the only thing that was a negative. However the environment, professional staff, room accommodations made up for the one negative thing. A great great place to stay!

Excellent hotel with good amenities. The staff were welcoming on my return visit. A special mention for Cole - The Bell Captain who went that extra mile and Nikki in the bar.

The hotel is beautiful and the rooms are comfortable and spacious. Our only issue was at check-in. Check in time is 4pm and when we arrived at 4:12, we were told there were no clean rooms for us. Dene, the supervisor, asked to take our number so she could call us when our room was available. We asked why there were no rooms at check-in time. She said housekeeping was still working. We let her know that we had been driving all day and we were exhausted. She found a room for us, 569. She gave us our card and hotel pamphlet. I didn’t realize we were done so I was still standing there. She looked at me and said, “did you have another room you need to check into?” I told her no and then she took the next guest in line. We were never told where to park, how to get to our room or anything about the hotel. We ended up finding a guest that was sitting in the common area to help us find the elevator. Despite this, our stay was amazing. Good thing we didn’t let it ruin our vacation.

Great place. Only one issue that didn’t get resolved. When you order food at the bar to go they just place in bags with room numbers to pick up. After a bit at the pool I went and grabbed brought upstairs to room to eat later. Somehow I got some of my order in one bag and the other bag had some else’s garbage in it. They were done eating and left it there so it’s was inadvertent but I never got my refund. Called front desk twice they transferred me to that bar but no one picked up so I was a bit frustrated there. Other than that place is great. Great food too so that made it worse not getting it.

Room was very nice, with a pool and ocean view. It was clean and had nice amenities. We liked the staff very much. They were cheerful and helpful. Especially enjoyed the live music at the pool and the excellent service my family received from Reginald. He worked continuously around the pool.

We had a wonderful first family vacation here with our 6 month old son! The resort is sooo accommodating for families with children. Food was delicious. Service was amazing and left nothing to be desired. Awesome having a private beach. I would recommend to other young families. Nice place to bring grandparents too!

Lago Mar is a great resort. The staff are wonderful. The pool was warm and clean, and the food was tasty. Parking was easy, and the beach was really clean and great for swimming. The only thing to be aware of is that it is not a walkable location - if you plan to stay for a while, you'll either need to rent a vehicle or use a driving service.

Great property. Well maintained. Friendly staff. Right on the ocean. Reasonably short drive to many outstanding restaurants.

It is very family friendly. Fun to watch the cruise ships coming and going. Easy safe parking.

Beautiful property. Loved the private beach

Stayed here after a cruise. It was a beautiful property and close to port and airport. Only downside was not walking distance to anything but they had plenty of food options for our family. Definitely recommend!

The property and staff are great. Lovely place for younger kids and older adults but a little farther south from all of the Fort Lauderdale action.

Very clean property, does need a few upgrades. Wallpaper is damaged etc. But furnishings are nice, staff is very nice and everything is very clean. Kind of out of the way so you do have to drive everywhere. But if you are there for the beach and pool it is a perfect location!

Lagomar is a great place to stay before a cruise from the nearby cruise port. It’s a classic beach resort with excellent on site dining. The beautiful beach is just the short distance of three other properties from the inlet canal where the big ships come and go. The staff is especially friendly and helpful. It’s a little bit difficult to negotiate the streets around the hotel but it’s well worth the effort ha ha ha.

Greatly enjoyed the beautiful property and all the amenities. However, the area while beautiful is not walkable. Its in a beautiful residential area and you need a car or a car service to get to outside restaurants/etc. Otherwise its absolutely heaven on earth!

It was a little tough to get food for takeout up to the room, and we were stuck waiting at the pool—wet. A simple soup and Quesada should not have taken so long. The conch soup was awful. It was like someone opened a can of Campbell tomato soup and added water.

Amazing property, friendly staff. Convenient dining options right on property. My husband and I will definitely stay here again next time we’re in Fort Lauderdale.

This was the perfect beach resort! We loved everything, convent location for us. Great food, friendly people, so much to do throughout the day. Only thing I wished that the tiki bar and adult pool was kept open later.

We have stayed at Lago Mar several times, and have found it to be very reliable in terms of cleanliness, attractiveness of rooms and furnishings, and general quality of the property. Recent upgrades make it an even nicer place to stay. Being right on the beach is a wonderful bonus. The hotel is also close to the cruise port, and it's a terrific place to spend a couple of days before a cruise. The dining options are generally good, but pretty pricey when compared to equivalent restaurants in the area. On busier weekend nights, a lot of the food seems to be prepared in advance and looks a little tired by the time it gets to the table. On this last trip, the wait staff in the main restaurant was a little disinterested and bordering on neglectful. We waited 45 minutes between ordering and getting a salad at our table. Service in general is good, but it really varies from person to person. One of the people at the front desk bordered on rude, but the young lady in the next chair was charming and pleasant. The people at the concierge desk are extremely friendly and helpful. The workers in the ice cream shop and diner are fantastic and always pleasant and helpful. Overall Lago Mar is an excellent option for families and couples, and a pleasant place to spend days in the Florida sun.

Our stay was overall great. We were able to check in a little early and use the amenities. Enjoyed the pool, beach, and activities around the property. Everything must be charged to your room which is nice so you don’t have to carry around personal items. Wish there was more variety for food options if staying a while. Front lobby staff & concierge were polite & helpful. Staff kept grounds clean, but did notice some flooding areas after brief rain. Only complaint is that there are no beach chairs included. All beach items are required to be rented on their beach for full day. We only wanted to go for a couple hours on our checkout day and it was not worth it. Overall great stay with lots to do. Did not check out the area off the property & did not have a car.
