The Lenox Hotel Boston

Good hotel, good location, good service, but has no kettle in the room.

I met a friend for just one night at the Lenox and everything was perfect. Gym is small but really has everything you need. Great shopping on Newbury Street just blocks away. Will definitely be back to the Lenox!

The venue is amazing and gorgeous. It's walkable next to the Boston Library. The staffs are helpful and excellent. However, I was quite surprised that there was no kettle inside the room for tea or coffee. They offered hot drinks in the lounge. I preferred my hot drinks in my room, which was more convenient.

Great hotel overall, nice staff. The only problem is that one of the old elevators always breaks down, especially on weekends, when there are a lot of people staying in the hotel, and it is a very very long wait to get up and down.

This is an older property and as quaint as it is there are shortcomings. Only two elevators… so be prepared to wait , especially if there is a special event as there were conferences and weddings etc. our phone didn’t not work the entire time during stay, IT didn’t fix it and so I had it come down to ask questions every time . Staff is nice enough but not genuinely interested in helping was how we felt . We did all the asking of questions around amenities. The location was great ! Too many door men. Lobby tiny and always crowded .

Good: Complimentary morning coffee is available in the lobby. Bad: No coffee service is provided in the room. I need to check in every day to access the Internet service.

Splurging on this room at the Lenox in Boston was well worth it, We had been traveling the East Coast for a while, and this hotel is our top choice. The room was beautiful, the shower is incredible, and the coffee quality in the morning is equal to a luxurious Italian bistro. If I were to mention some things worth improving, it would be the size of the fitness center. Most centers are quite small, and one can do most exercises, but it would be nice to have a larger room. All of our needs were met, and the location allowed us to take advantage of the city and shopping locales around us. The staff was kind and helpful, asking me whether I'd like a bottled water as I made my way down to the fitness center in the morning (the center is just behind the front desk, downstairs). When we return to Boston, we'll make sure to visit The Lenox once again.

Great Back Bay hotel. All 3 restaurants / bars in the property are fantastic too.

Staff was pleasant but our room smelled bad, musty and sour. The staff offered to help us change our room, but we were exhausted to pack it all up and transfer after our late check in…there was an air purifier in the 8th floor room, so I know they were aware of the problem in advance.

Limited storage in rooms. Very little storage in bathroom. Very poor cleanliness in restaurant and bars. Had to ask for tables to be cleaned/wiped. Does the team care about the reputation of the hotel? Some staff were excellent. Friendly and informative.

I enjoyed staying at the Lenox. The front desk staff always greeted you on the way in and even though the hotel was older, it was clean and maintained including the rooms. I appreciated having a fridge to store food and drinks and having two luggage racks. The complementary hot coffee in the morning was also nice. The location is superb, directly across the street from the Boston Public Library and a block away from the Copley T metro stop, so it was super convenient to get anywhere within the city. There were also coffee shops, restaurants and stores within walking distance. It's also extremely close to the finish line of the Boston Marathon. My only minor issue was that because of the older age of the building, the shower head was a little lower. I'm around 5'8" and my head nearly touched the bottom of the shower head. I imagine anyone much taller than me would have to lean their head down to wash their hair. I also wished the toilets were a bit larger; it felt a little cramped.

The hotel is really old the matresses are incredibly uncomfortable. There was dust on the nightstand. The headboards were made of cloth an ripped. Overall not a good experience and would definitely not recommend this hotel.

My issue is somewhat with hotels.com as well as with the hotel. I booked through the hotels.com website when trivago was $360 less for two nights. I was already in Boston and had talked with someone at the Lenox hotel and they had explained the difference of a room that sleeps 2 versus 3. I wasn’t familiar with trivago so went with hotels.com assuming the difference was for a larger room and to be on the safe side with a site I had used in the past since at that point, my reservation was for the same night. I was very disappointed to see the room advertised as sleeping 3 would not have been able to accommodate a cot safely without blocking the door, there was very little counter space in the bathroom and there was mold on the air vents. They’re apparently renovating in the near future, but I would have been much happier risking trivago and saving $360 for the type of accommodations we received.

Room was clean, air conditioner worked good, staff is really friendly.

Good Quiet Location. Walking distance to everything. Room is very roomy. Bathroom is a little small. Overall 9 out of 10.

It’s a wonderful place in an exceptional location but our room was not up to the high standard we’ve come to expect from The Lenox. The biggest problem was the noise from the neighbors whether is was very phone call, discussion or early morning yells from the children. Walks were just too thin.

Great area, super convenient and walkable. The staff are lovely and helpful - the rooms however don’t warrant the price and are in desperate need of a refresh. Very outdated.

Hotel was great but room had several issues, primarily extremely loud HVAC system and bathroom sink faucet was extremely loose and seemingly falling off the sink.

The room was large and very comfortable.

We loved the fireplace in our room - it turned an already great stay into something truly magical.

I really liked staying here. The staff was great. The folks at the desk, the door person, the bell persons, etc. What I didn't like was the room I was given, which was right next to the elevator. The elevator is old and noisy and I got no sleep literally.

Always the best service with the most authentic lobby in the US and the best porter service anywhere

It was old time service, from the doorman to the front desk to the porter. When we asked if we would get daily maid service they said they would send the right away while we were at breakfast. We are platinum Mariott members,you could teach them a thing or two.

The hotel offers an upscale ambiance with charming old-world character, yet remains reasonably priced. The staff — from the front desk and doormen to the bartenders and housekeeping — were exceptionally courteous and professional. Its location is highly convenient, within walking distance of the train station, Fenway Park, the Prudential Center, and excellent shopping. I would highly recommend this independent hotel to friends, family, and anyone seeking a refined yet affordable stay.

The location was perfect for our visit to Boston University and downtown Boston. The staff was incredibly helpful and nice. The hotel had a nice historical feel without sacrificing any modern luxury.

The customer service was over the top wonderful from curb to check in to housekeeping. I felt safe in the hotel & the neighborhood. Theg rooms were soundproof, clean and well stocked with water and amenities. Chocolates on arrival from Lindt candies which is on the corner. (No coffee maker but complimentary coffee service is in lobby near elevators starting at 5 a.m to 10.)Room service is also available. Beds were extremely comfortable and pillows excellent. If you need more towels, water, or tissue, they bring it right away. I had a suite that had a wood burning fireplace that they said they would start up for me but I didnt use it. I was only going to be there 2 nights but came down with a cold and opted to stay 3 extra nights. They were delightful to deal with & help me extend my stay. I stayed 5 days! What a great place to relax and recuperate. I did go out for food and drink. You can pick up rice/chicken bowls at Cava & tea at Starbucks just across the street. The Lennox does have 3 great restaurants on site..so you don't have to leave.. My one hiccup with them was an accidental double charge for parking. My friend stayed the first night but they didnt record she had left. Just go over the bill. Parking is $70 for overnight..with in and out privileges. I won't stay anywhere else from here on in but The Lennox when I visit Boston. Thank you Lennox..it might not have been a fun vacation for me but at least I was far from being more miserable than necessary..Stay here!

I had a wonderful stay at The Lenox! It’s a beautiful hotel and the staff was outstanding. Added bonus: the bed was suuuuuuper comfy! Location was also fantastic with close proximity to shopping, dining and transportation. I will definitely be back!

Great location

Great hotel in a great location. The photos don’t do it justice. Gorgeous lobby and feels like a historical hotel. Our room was clean and well appointed, comfortable beds. The free coffee was great and it was a short walk to many great places and the train. Highly recommend!

Great location and amenities

Very comfortable hotel with great staff. Restaurant and main bar closed during afternoon which is restrictive. Overall it’s a very nice place too stay and central to everything.

It was great! Very walkable. The Irish pub had fantastic food. Room was very clean and a good size. The bar was really nice too.

Good check in experience. Very helpful, friendly staff. Hotel is beautiful, very classy and good furnishings. Will be staying here again. Also, the breakfast was the best we’ve had in a hotel in Boston.
