Berkeley Oceanfront Hotel

A bit dated in most areas. Walls and chairs tearing. Walkable location. Very loud- outside and inside. Anytime anyone in a close room came in or out our door shook loudly and the noise carries just with people talking outside and inside. Tough to get a good night's sleep.

The location is amazing. Directly across the street from the quiet end of the boardwalk, yet still just a block away from everything: beach, bars, restaurants, daytime and evening activities. Staff is so friendly and accommodating. Only parking option is valet for $60. Seems like a lot, but they will retrieve your car forc you as often as needed--with a smile. That kind of service is worth paying for. The valet staff also holds the door for you every time you enter and exit. We went off-season, so I can't speak to the pool, but the area looks lovely, and nice to have an outdoor garden and pool area. We dont't drink, but the bar area was very nice, few pool tables and lively music/party atmosphere on Saturday night. Bar area is in the back of the hotel, easy access, but far enough away that we did not hear the noise in the lobby or in our room. We had a king size bed with a pull out couch and partial ocean view. Table for 4 and a desk. Great size for the two of us, would be doable for 4 people, but maybe not as comfortable for adults. Free water bottles in the room, and refilled as needed. Cold lemon water in the lobby, free coffee in the morning 6:30 am to 11 am. Cafe and multiple restaurants on site. We did not eat at the hotel, so no review on the food. Chiropractor convention and wedding at the hotel at the same time and never any noise or wait for services. In summary: A very well run hotel in a great location with lovely staff and great services.

Wasn’t happy we were on a floor where they were redoing the carpets, my daughter almost tripped as we were about to walk out of the elevator. The refrigerator never cooled off at all and the constant wind whistles through the windows was not a relaxing noise. The next door clock alarm went of around 5:30 and for some reason ours went off at 6. the hotel wasn't booked we should have been put on a floor that wasn’t having work done on it

They had 3 weddings and ran out of valet parking. Other than that all was fine.

Loved the experience and room at Berkeley Oceanfront Hotel - It was extraordinarily spacious and from the moment we walked it we felt right at home. Highly recommend.
