Great location and very good value. Balcony overlooking pool was nice. Having a night club on the property made it a very short walk at the end of the night. Every staff member including bartenders were friendly and accommodating. Unfortunately, the elevator wasn't working with no insight when it would be back up.

My three night stay at the Empress was excellent. The staff is very friendly. They called me in advance to let me know that the elevator was out of service and they were waiting for a replacement part. I really appreciated that. My double queen room was spacious and clean. The front desk provided a mini fridge upon my request. The Friday night drag show was excellent. I took advantage of the complimentary continental breakfast on Sunday-bagels, yogurt and more. Just be aware that if you stay here there is a club on the first floor and if you are in a room on that side of the hotel you’ll hear music till wee hours. I was in town for music and partying so it did not bother me in the least! Kevin, the bartender, was a real sweetheart.

In pretty good shape for her age, the venerable Empress is centrally located for beach and boardwalk. Catering to the LGBTQ communities this is a great place to stay for fun day and night. But don’t go for a peaceful nights sleep… when Paradise nightclub is open the entire building vibrates — literally!

Across the road from the boardwalk, next to the music venue! Great spot. But very loud if you are pool side. The music is cranked up to drown out everything else. Enjoyed the entertainment all around the area.

Fantastic staff especially Kristen! She was so helpful and gracious helped us with checking in and explaining the pool and nightclub passes, could not have asked for better service. Room could have been a little cleaner, there were cigarette butts on the balcony and one by the chair in the room. There was a bra left behind next to the chair, shower had hair on the walls. But for what empress is it was fine would definitely stay again.

I was expecting it to be loud with the club attached but I didn't hear it at all. Very convenient location as I was seeing a show at the Stone Pony. Easy check in/out. Friendly staff. Bed was hard as a rock and very low to the ground but I would still stay here again when in Asbury.

There is no fridge. The bed was super firm and it was so loud at night we couldn’t sleep. Definitely would never stay here again. Especially with how expensive it is.

There was a closed bar in the lobby. Staff was friendly. The accommodations are old and outdated, but clean. Bathroom was very small with no counter space and a leaking toilet. There is a bar next door which plays loud music and is the main attraction for the hotel. If you want to sleep before 2 AM don’t stay here.

All in all for a weekend get away it’s not too bad. Close to the beach. Plenty of restaurants around. I was there in the off season so I could only imagine how busy it will be during the regular season. Only disappointment with the room would be the bathroom. It could be updated a little bit with counter space. While there is a coffee pot in the room, there was no tea for the non coffee drinkers. No refrigerator or microwave in the room. I guess you get what you pay for.

Property was fine and fun close to boardwalk beach and all that Asbury has to Offer… would of had a lovely one night stay except we called for Late check Out night before and the person okayed it then when left for beach in am went to double check at front desk. And no one was there… I got a call from hotel and they said there are no late check outs and after they were rude to me for awhile and I kept saying we based our day off of that timing they said “ ok see you at 2” and I just wanted to make sure this meant our stuff in the room was safe and sound and it truly was ok til 2 cause two Seconds before that’s not what it sounded like!!! And with asked if it really was ok ?? Then they were mean about that they said it was!!! At checking out we discussed as the manager was there and they told Told me to SHHHH!!! Stop talking !! My pleasant 24 hr Asbury park experience was definitely a little crushed by this experience!!!! So wish they weren’t so aggressive on the phone and realized that we were told it was ok and just adjusted to that vs what happened !!

Worst experience in 30 years of traveling. The employee who works the overnight shift should be unemployed. He was the rudest most unprofessional person I’ve ever encountered. I guess asking where the parking is located so that my handicapped friend could get out of the car after a six hour drive was too much work for this vile human. BBB has been notified.

Fun weekend in Asbury Park. Wonderful staff, great stay, reasonable rates. Perfect location, close to boardwalk and the beach. My only wish is that we brought our dog, I didn't realize the hotel is pet friendly. The first night was pretty loud, since our room was over the nightclub. We asked to switch rooms and the staff were wonderful in accommodating us. We will be back for sure.

It’s a block from the beach. The rooms are large. Front desk arriving was nice but a female was a little rude in the night and morning saying she was The Manager when another man who was very nice already told me he was. She hid lots so I had to wait at an empty front desk. They put out coffee and grocery store muffins, in the morning and bread and the cheese cheese baby containers and cream cheese in the morning. Across the street and a couple blocks away are some restaurants it’s really next to the boardwalk. You do have a great lobby if you need to meet a friend. Children are not allowed to stay here and at night it turns into a nightclub which you can go free with pool tables, alcohol, games and drag shows. It did not bother my sleep or room which was quiet. There is no refrigerator or microwave in the room. It is likely fun in the summer when the pool is open. The male manager was extraordinary nice and a woman named Kristen and another young girl with blue eyes. It was very thin girl with dark hair and dark eyes that was snobby and a little rude and you could not find her at the desk when she was supposed to be working. Maybe she was high.

This hotel is a bit dated and could do with a facelift. It is a pool party hotel which I knew when I booked as I had stayed there before, so ask for a front room at opposite end of the hotel if that would bother you. Take an extension lead as the electric sockets are not located easily. The main lamp lamp didn't work, and the AC was too noisy to run during the night. Continental breakfast only available at weekends which was a shame as it was quite nice. The shower was hot and powerful The staff are helpful and friendly and it's so conveniently located for the beach, boardwalk and all the bars and restaurants are within walking distance. I would stay again

Met my college roommate and we had a wonderful stay. Rooms are dated, as other reviewers stated, but very clean and the staff was amazing - super friendly and helpful. Bonus that we found free parking in the lot and there was a continental breakfast buffet included. Great location, too! We’ll definitely return!!!

We had a great time! Just a little midweek overnight pop to the beach. Our balcony overlooked the pool (which has a disco ball hanging center!). The room was simple, clean and spacious. The pool had great music playing and a bar (bring cash!), plenty of chairs to lounge and the water was the perfect temp, refreshing without being too cold. Paradise had drag bingo the night we were there. TOP NOTCH!
