The Asbury Hotel

Easy check in, we were allowed to check our bags to go to the beach before check in. Valet parking was super easy and our car was available 24 hours. Room was bright, clean, and the bed was really comfortable. Nice bathroom with big shower and soap and shampoo were provided. Pool was fun, rooftop deck was incredible. Great time!

Good location. Good condition. Good 24 - hour gym. Would be nice if they offered their nice guests free parking. We say this because such as with any shore town which only has a few months out of the year to make their money, The City Of Asbury Park is always trying to think of more innovative ways to suck the money out of your wallet, via alleged traffic and parking violations. A secured private area adjacent to this hotel for parking purposes would alleviate that devil .

The Asbury was centrally located to the boardwalk and beach. The hotel itself had a fun, urban vibe. Pool was nice as was the rooftop bar. The only downside is the $50 per day parking fee.

Very convenient! No need to leave the property if you don't want to! Great pool, roof bar and food options.

Property was very nice. Parking was expensive for pre memorial day weekend, but I guess that's to be expected. Pool was not open and that was a really big bummer for sure. Also no gym which was really strange, every hotel has a gym and for the price you would expect something. Staff was fantastic, location is great and the decor was some of the best I've seen in a boutique hotel.

Loved the property! Didn’t like that they didn’t have free morning coffee or coffee in room! Didn’t need free breakfast just coffee! No workout facility was also a bummer but everything else really was great!!

Overpriced. Skimpy toy furnishings in an attempt to look retro 60s, in adequately furnished room. Many rooms are quite cramped. Cheap blinds. Do not keep out the light. No blackout shade. No restaurant. Loud rooftop bar is noisy on upper floors. Why is there a resort fee? Very average swimming pool is just fine, but doesn’t justify the charge. Stay somewhere else.

Ac filter in room needs to be cleaned. Construction next door starts at 8 am. Loved the heated pool

It was extremely noisy. It was dirty very dirty. I had rust in them. I have photos of everything. It was terrible. First time I’ve ever stayed there it was awful. Staff was nice

Comfortable, clean and modern in great location

Our room was clean - no doubt about that. However there was trash left under the bench in the room and tape on the walls above the sink. Just small things that will not hinder any future decisions about staying there. Love the hotel! The Quad rooms are genius for friends trips.

Cons: holes terribly patched in the walls, wrinkled pillow cases and bedsheets, and musky smell in the room - which is a very tiny space, carpet in the hallway is dingy. Pros: conveniently located and easily accessible by foot to the Convention Hall, boardwalk, and restaurants.

For the price you pay it’s definitely not worth it! Literally the bathroom in the room smelled, the rooms are tiny which is not that big of a deal but there’s definitely mold in there

The I was really excited to book this hotel to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The valet at the door was wonderfully polite and I was thrilled that we were able to check in early. The hotel lobby was beautiful but once we got to the room it went downhill. The room was very dingy with stained floors that needed to be cleaned and vacuumed. We also did not get the roll-a-way bed that was offered as an amenity online and requested at the time of our reservation. When I brought it up, the first response I got was it was against fire code to have a rollaway in the room. I pushed a little harder and got them to bring an air mattress, but they made it clear it was an exception so keep this in mind if you are counting on it! Whether the air conditioner was on or off, the room remained incredibly humid and smelled musty. When we checked out the following morning, no one was at the desk and someone from the cafe eventually came out and got the associate from the back room. She did not speak to us at all, just took our keys and said we would be charged an additional $40 resort fee.

There is a nightclub on the roof of the hotel that has blasting club music until 2 am. The music can be heard clearly in many of the guest rooms. To their credit, they moved our room when we complained, but at that point it's already 12:30 am and getting a good night of sleep is out. If you want to party at that club this may be a good option, but if you want to get an early start at the beach go to a different hotel.

I understand it’s a shore property and rooms are expected to be small.. but these rooms are NYC small. Booked for a winter staycation and immediately had to ask for a bigger room upon checking into a Standard King. It was a shoe box. They didn’t have anything else available as it was Valentine’s weekend so we had to settle for a 2 double bed room. You should absolutely take into the bathroom being a part of the sq ft of each room. Not worth the price imo. Should’ve just gone with an Airbnb.

I liked the cleanliness and the rooftop bar very much. I did not care for the layout and size of the room.

The air conditioner was not working properly and the room was very warm. The ac unit was also very loud and right next to the bed so my husband and I both did not sleep well. The shower water was lukewarm at best.

Our room and stay were very nice. The only drawback which may have been the result of our asking for a king room; the room had an adjoining room and the door was not well insulated. I could not only hear the young women next door but when they spoke on the phone I could hear the caller. That was unpleasant.

I never leave reviews but…..The staff and customer support staff were unprofessional and rude. Wanted to stay another night and was told sold out without even verifying. Found they did have a few on Experian. Then they looked.

The property seemed understaffed consistently. To be fair, this was during seasonal change, so they might have lost some people or had trouble finding staff. That said, they should try to bulk up the staff. That said, when I had a real problem, they addressed it and compensated me quickly. It's a good hotel. I'd go back!

The staff is super friendly, the vibe of the whole place is super on point, and it just felt good being there during every second of my stay.

The worst! Tiny rooms- no access to common areas after 10pm despite rooms size. Staff suggested we go hang out in a park after we paid for two rooms. There was a fire alarm that blared forever and no explanation. They did not answer the text they initiated for customer service at check in. I only wanted to know how to obtain ice- I got none. Valet returned my vehicle with the infotainment screen / radio / and everything attached to the screen broken. I also could not bring my water cup upstairs to salvation bar. Would not recommend Even purchasing upgrades doesn’t make you a more valuable customer, our upgrades caused them to not be able to effectively check us in so we needed to wait for someone else to assist and that was WITH performing online check in with adding my payment info License picture and selfie. There was no win despite all the potential I chose this hotel for.

My apologies for not knowing his name, but the gentleman who acted as a senior concierge upon my stay was excellent. He provided such a sincere interest and professional manner in making sure I was taken care of like my son and I were the only guests in the place. My hats off to him and the Asbury for having him as the face of the place. Thank you "unnamed" sir, thank you.

Unbelievably friendly staff that made us feel welcome. Went above and beyond to make our stay great. Very clean. Great location.

great hotel! staff was over the top friendly/helpful and knowledgeable about the area. we stay on a saturday and when we got back from dinner were pleasantly supposed by live music in the lobby. will def stay again.

Every year we head to Asbury Hotel. The staff are welcoming and they truly make you feel like home. The atmosphere is relaxing and the amenities are a plus.

No chair in room to relax in. Failure of staff to make-up room when requested several times. Failure to provide towels/wash cloths when requested.

Disappointing all around. Check in time is late (4PM) while the check out time is standard (11AM). My room was almost $600/night and I was surprised that it did NOT include free parking ($50.00 if you want an overnight pass) or breakfast (you can buy coffee and snacks). I went to ask the hotel for a parking pass, was told it would be $50.00 and went back to a $50.00 parking ticket (was gone 5 min). My friend stayed at the Holiday Inn Express with free parking, breakfast, and even I got a free cookie just visiting them. I thought that was standard for hotels, but not the Asbury. The room was tiny, not the cleanest, and a bit worn. The bed was a bit lumpy. They had water bottles but no coffee or tea in the room. The bathroom was clean and looked nice but the water pressure for the shower was not great. There's a rooftop bar. I asked the cleaning staff where it was and they did not know - maybe because it is in a separate building. When we found it, the drinks were really weak/not good. There was a wedding that weekend, so it would be randomly crowded as they were in the lobby quite a bit. On the positive side, the location is central for Asbury Park and the pool has a bar that serves really great frozen drinks. That one drink was the only highlight of the stay for me.

There are only a couple of options for vegan and gluten-free food, which is disappointing. The first room they assigned me was a closet near the pool when there was a rager outside. That’s not how I’d want to start my stay. It took maintenance to find another room. When isn’t it the hotel receptionists’ job to switch rooms? Jay from maintence was phenomenal for upgrading my room. Unfortunately, the partying at the hotel wasn’t my scene and I had to leave early

Excellent hotel with lobby cafe and bar and rooftop bar. Adjacent Asbury Diner in Asbury Lanes also excellent. Only minor negative experience was not allowing an outside lemonade at the pool, particularly when we spent a lot at the hotel during our stay. Please reassess this rigid guest unfriendly approach.

Great staff, very cool bar lounge with live music and 24 hour counter service, fantastic location. Favorite feature: each room has a record play and a huge library of records to choose from in the lounge.

It was nice. One rude staff member. Bathroom was leaking in our room. Air conditioning was not too cold. Room was nice and the lobby was gorgeous. Food was good too.

Hotel great with lovely music in the lobby. Loved it being pet friendly even though I didn’t bring one. Pool needs a bit more color and liveliness. Taco truck was nice. Would appreciate room service.

Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. A few things that would’ve made it better: A real bathroom door that closes tightly would have afforded more privacy in a small, shared room. In-room coffeemaker or complimentary coffee in the lobby, should be offered. More (any) vegan options at the lobby concessions. Just a couple of minor criticisms, but the room was lovely and comfortable and we had a very nice time.

The shore has changed. All of this construction happening down there so asbury park isn’t as homey as it once was. Not as gritty. That said, we loved the hotel itself. Saw whales from our window. The staff as amazing! Keep up the good vibes! Love the record collection. The food was great and wonderfully priced. There’s a diner attached. Two blocks from the beach. Did I mention how lovely and welcoming the staff was? Lovely time.

This was an amazing hotel experience, the staff was amazing, the room was perfect, and the food from the diner was excellent for both dinner and breakfast. Would highly recommend.
