Great hotel, location was ideal, only 5 minutes walk to centre and 10 minutes walk to bus station. Used the shuttle bus to and from airport which was excellent. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Very good breakfast buffet. Only issue was the room was too warm, but the staff provided a fan for us. Overall a great place to stay.

We had stopped in Ljubljana after a driving trip around Slovenia to go to the Friday nite Open Kitchen. This hotel was in the perfect location to return our rental car,be close to Open Kitchen and the center of town, and catch our train the next day. It does cater to bus tours so you get that energy, but the breakfast offered is excellent and there is a gym. My one recommendation might be to try and improve the gym size/offerings. Since this hotel hosts large groups, there’s no way it comes close to accommodating more than a couple of people and in summer, I’m not sure it would be comfortable. Other than that, everything was very comfortable and staff was lovely.

Hotel is top quality with a value price set correctly. They upgraded us to a nice room. Nice amenities including an umbrella which was needed. Parking was 10EU a night in a garage, reasonable. Nice gym. Location is excellent to visit lovely city. The breakfast buffet included in the price was over the top. Best i have seen in my travels.

Great location less than 10 mins walk to the river with bridges, cafes/restaurants, and shops and similar distance in opposite direction to the train station - great for train travel to Ljubljana and nearby spots like Lake Bled for an easy day trip. Spacious modern room. Nice green feature where you can skip having your room serviced for a free drink from the hotel bar. Good extensive breakfast. Terrace bar was a good spot to relax after a long day out though there’s no view - only one of the across street office building. Overall enjoyed the stay at the City Hotel and it’s convenient location for visiting Ljubljana.

Perfect location to discover the city. Fresh and delicious breakfast with good service, comfortable room and bed. Bathroom was as well.top. Modern hotel style with pleasant light conditions. New gym, but we were too busy to use. Be careful: The garage has small parking lots, if you need. Better for medium cars.

Located adjacent to the pedestrianised area of the City Centre providing easy access to all attractions. Our inner facing room on the second floor was quiet and a good size for two people. Good selection of food options at breakfast. Parking is in a secure underground carpark opposite the hotel. The daily rate is good value when you compare it to alternative options!

The City Hotel is located just adjacent to the old town area of Ljubljana so it is an easy walk to the main sights. Lots of dining options. Hotel it’s very clean and comfortable. Underground parking is available but limited. Be sure to reserve in advance if arriving by car.

This hotel is lovely. We had excellent service by desk staff and their breakfast was delicious with lots of choices! When we first arrived, there was a small issue with the flat sheet on the bed not being clean. I let the front desk know and they immediately took care of it and were great. The hotel's location was perfect - very easy and pleasant walk to old town and the center of the city (for tourists at least). Even with the English pub on the corner, it was pretty quiet. There was a shuttle service they were able to easily set up for us that was fairly inexpensive (14 Euros a person) which was very helpful, efficient, and pleasant. I would absolutely stay here again if in Ljubljana again.

ONLY ROOM ABD BATHROOM CLEAN WHEN YOU CHECK IN . 3 DAYS LATER BATH ROOM TABLE AND NIGHT TABLE WERE NOT WIPED OR CLEANED SAME BED SHEET FOR 3 DAYS NOT CHANGED EVEN I HAD SPILLED COFFEE ON IT BY MISTAKE. BOTTLE WATER ONLY 1 BOTTLE PER STAY . LIKE THEY ARE NOT CHARGING YOU ENOUGH TO SPEND 1 EURO ON BOTTLE OF WATER .

This was a nice place and located in a good area in terms of travelling throughout the city. Small things such as having a noticeable amount of small bugs in our room on the walls and on the TV. We also had one wet towel out of 2… just seemed like they rushed the process of cleaning our room to get it ready for us.

Wifi has to much to be desired. Very slow in the rooms. Probably one of the worst I have had this trip. Our room had issues with the drain plug. Also we ran out of soap and was never replenished. Breakfast food was excellent

We stayed at the hotel from 31st July to 8th August. We were lucky to be able to check in early whuch was about 11am. After dropping our stuff off, we went out for the day and when we came back our room smelt awful like sewage or something similar. The receptionist sent the cleaner who arrived with powder to put down the drain in the shower. She said the powder was dangerous so we needed to open the window. After she left, the smell seemed to improve. The next day, we left the hotel early and when we came back to the room, the smell was there again. That night we moved rooms which was an inconvenience as we'd already unpacked everything. However, at least we didn't need to stay where that smell was. Out of interest, I started looking at reviews and I found a review from someone who stayed a couple of weeks before us that also had an issue with a smell in their room and they also mentioned a lamp that was broken. Our room that smelt also had a lamp that was broken so I mentioned it to reception and the guy said that it was a pure coincidence. So I'm just making other people aware that our room was 511. So if you have the same issue in that room then you know that the hotel was aware of this. Either way, if it wasn't a coincidence that means two room smell and have a broken lamp which I don't think is acceptable for a 4 star hotel which is quite expensive. There are some positives but I don't have enough characters left. I thought it was important to make people aware of this.

Only complaint is room way too hot as A/C wouldn’t be turned on until May and it was mid April. Can’t turn temperature down in the room or front desk. Said they would bring a fan but never happened. Room overlooked the road and it was noisy so couldn’t leave window open at night. Breakfast buffet was good but very busy of course.

When you first walk in the hotel it is nothing grand but once we got up to our room it was wonderful. We had one of the few balcony rooms and had a great view of the castle. The room was very clean as well. The breakfast buffet was excellent. Hotel is very walkable to both the Riverwalk area and train and bus stations. Overall very nice place to stay.

Vey central hotel close to all the sights around old town Ljubljana. Room is clean with pillow menu (we didnt use this as our pillows are comfortable enough). Bathroom is big, shower has good water pressure. Our only complain is cold air conditioning is turned off because it is October and we find it hard to sleep in a warm room. They gave us a fan amd just left the window open for the cold night air. Breakfast buffet options are amazing! I would stay again in this hotel just for the breakfast! 9/10 just because of no A/C during wintertime.

This hotel is in an excellent location, very close to the historic city center where there are many choices of restaurants and stores. The property itself is very clean and comfortable. The breakfast included in the rate is very good. We arrived at the hotel early, way before check in time and had to wait for the rooms to be ready. To compensate us for our wait we were all given room upgrades. I would recommend this hotel without hesitation.

We were served by two rude staff. A bar staff told me that there was no service at the terrace because the bar wasn't open. But we could take our drinks up.While we were there a bar staff brought drinks up.When I complained she kept making excuses and arguing before she eventually apologised.I don't think she knew what she was apologising for.There is too much to put in about the reception member.

Front desk staff were extremely helpful. Gave great recommendations on sightseeing and dinning . Also booked our cab to the train station for our departure . The hotel location was ideal . Just a short walk to the main square where the outdoor cafes and bars are located. Wonderful breakfast buffet with lots of choices . Enjoyed our stay very much !

My check-in was easy and quick. The room was very hot, and the roof lounge was extremely loud and disturbing. I was not able to rest until the lounge closed due to the excessive laughing and music. When I checked out, the man at the desk was short and rude with his responses. I’ll look elsewhere next time.

Excellent hotel. I arrived early, but they let me check in nevertheless. In any case, you can drop off your luggage until your room is ready. The reception staff are very helpful throughout one's time in the hotel e.g. maps, booking taxis etc My room was upgraded from the basic singles room I had booked and was very clean and spacious. It had all the touches one would expect from a 4* hotel. One minor criticism was too few coffee sachets provided! The breakfast was excellent, with many choices of hot and cold food. The hot food was warm and had variety, the cold choices even more varied (and probably healthier).

When we arrived to the hotel, in the front desk was Jakob, remember that name because in my whole life I never met anyone as rude as that man. In the other hand, the hotel was really nice. The room was comfortable and clean. Breakfast was amazing really good very varied. The neighborhood was really safe and walkable.

Breakfast is the close to the best I have ever seen. Rooms are large and towels are huge. Overall it is a very nice hotel. But breakfast is the key if you want a great selection - everything is available except roast beef and that may be available.
