We were so lucky to be upgraded to a beautiful room with a balcony and incredible views of the pounding waves of the Guincho beaches. We arrived from the airport just too late for the dining room but the staff were so kind and welcoming and the chef made us a plate of cheese and nibbles which was perfect. Our first room downstairs was quite dark with a very small window and distant view of the sea and it was a little noisy, being directly on the main reception area, but the beds were comfortable and the service was impeccable and as mentioned we were lucky to move to a great room on the first floor. The bar restaurant has delicious food and there is a good selection of local wines and also cocktails. No pool and the beaches were too rough for swimming but you can pay a fee to use the sheltered pool in the next door hotel - the best of both worlds.

Loved this hotel which lived up to it’s Relais & Châteaux membership. We were given an upgrade, looking out on to the beach. Delicious dinner on the terrace and breakfast in the restaurant. Made to feel so welcome.

Spectacular setting and a lovely room overlooking the ocean. Staff was very professional and attentive. My only comment would be that they should have a pool as the public beach is very windy and the hotel does not have it's own beach

Fantastic sunset off the dining room and outdoor terrace. Excellent food and option for Michelin star dining experience. Cool to watch the surfers on the beach next door. Short drive to Cascais.

Wunderbares Haus in einmaliger Lage. Das Gebäude an sich ist alt, hat aber Charme. Der Service ist durchweg erstklassig und exzellent. Frühstück mehr als 5 Sterne. Das Hotel liegt auf einem Felsen direkt an der Küste. Nur wenige Meter hinunter zum Sandstrand. Großer Parkplatz direkt vor der Tür. Umgebung lädt ein zum Verweilen und Wandern.

We loved the location, breakfast, and character of this hotel. Bicycles are available for use, and in contrast to the note in the hotel description, there is no problem parking your car. Public transportation takes you to all the wonderful places around for hiking and sightseeing. A few great restaurants are close by but in general, it is a tranquil and magical place to spend a couple days at.

Fort converted to a hotel. Our room had an ocean view which was nice. Breakfast included was nice as well as the free water, soda and beer in the room. Very nice perks with the room. Some staff are able to smile, while others though not rude, don’t come across as happy. (Hit or miss). The nearest town is a 10 minute drive by car (Uber). They do provide chairs and umbrellas at the (Surfing beach). If you want to be near the water, but a little away from everything, then this hotel is definitely worth staying.

The customer service at this place is top notch! It’s very clean and the main areas that you can sit and have a drink or visit is beautiful! This place isn’t walking distance from the town but it’s a quick taxi ride. I highly recommend this place.

Close to nature, adorable view to Atlantic Ocean, friendly personnel. My room was close to reception and therefore there was some noise coming from the lobby. Due to IronMan race the roads were closed and I needed to walk with the luggage half an hour to get a taxi to the airport. I would have liked some kind of compensation for this, but it was not offered. For a room with price of over 300 euros a night that would have been expected.

Exceptional rework of historic fortress. Arched ceiling and sitting couch on enclosed balcony overlooking the sea is a totally unique feature. If you want elegance and quiet solitude this is the place!

This has got to be one of the best hotels we’ve stayed at. The views are incredible, the breakfast buffet is amazing and most of all the staff are one of the nicest people you’ll meet. They go above and beyond to make sure you’re well taken care of. Truly a 5 star experience and we’ll be sure to come back here in the future without a doubt.

Exceptional customer service! They anticipate your every need and the staff are incredible - true professionals in their field. We had the corner room (212) with two big windows - simply amazing to wake up to the sounds of the ocean! Great amenities including robe and slippers with welcome fruit and bubbles!

Very nice property very nice views. Staff are very friendly and polite. We encountered some problems at the beginning with our room, but that’s a given every time you book with Expedia, you always get the worst room possible. After speaking to them, they moved us to a better room after a few hours. The biggest problem we encountered was we had an early checkout so when we went downstairs to settle, we were told that our bill is approximately over €400 and I knew we had some dry cleaning so without hesitation we paid it. On our way to the airport we realized that they quadruple charged us on everything. We contacted them from the airport they apologized. We got some of the money back. We’re still waiting for the other part to be paid back. I do recommend this hotel and I also recommend to check your bill whether you order room service or dry cleaning or you eat at the restaurant before you leave.

There were some issues, but the staff worked diligently to remedy them. So, while there were aspects of the stay that were below expectations, the diligence of the hotel in addressing them goes a long way. For that, the hotel wins my kudos and turned something negative into a positive!

This was an absolutely beautiful place with a gorgeous location. The staff could not have been more helpful or friendly. It is close enough to different places to go and see that taking an uber was affordable and easy. Cannot reccomend this place enough.

The customer service at this place is top notch! It’s very clean and the main areas that you can sit and have a drink or visit is beautiful! This place isn’t walking distance from the town but it’s a quick taxi ride. I highly recommend this place.

The service of this hotel is not up to standard. I booked the hotel for two days, for unknown reasons after one day we were asked to move to another room. Because of the lack of staff, it takes a long time to check in. When approaching the hotel in rainy weather no one comes out with an umbrella. In general, the hotel does not reach the stated level.

Fort converted to a hotel. Our room had an ocean view which was nice. Breakfast included was nice as well as the free water, soda and beer in the room. Very nice perks with the room. Some staff are able to smile, while others though not rude, don’t come across as happy. (Hit or miss). The nearest town is a 10 minute drive by car (Uber). They do provide chairs and umbrellas at the (Surfing beach). If you want to be near the water, but a little away from everything, then this hotel is definitely worth staying.

We loved the location, breakfast, and character of this hotel. Bicycles are available for use, and in contrast to the note in the hotel description, there is no problem parking your car. Public transportation takes you to all the wonderful places around for hiking and sightseeing. A few great restaurants are close by but in general, it is a tranquil and magical place to spend a couple days at.

Stunning view and absolutely beautiful property. It’s so clean and great condition, you feel like royalty. The view from inside the room is so eloquently designed. The breakfast is crafted for everyone, delicate pastries with all types of fruit and cheese. The beach is just a walk. There is a hill down to the beach so if you cannot walk easily, may need to drive a bit for better access. The location isn’t crowded at all so it never felt busy even with more guests. This has got to be one of the best hotels we’ve stayed at. The views are incredible, the breakfast buffet is amazing and most of all the staff are one of the nicest people you’ll meet. They go above and beyond to make sure you’re well taken care of. Truly a 5 star experience and we’ll be sure to come back here in the future without a doubt.
