The breakfast is truly an event not to miss - there has to be 120 different items to choose from! Fresh fruit, juices, iberico, baked goods, amazing. It is walking distance across the road to the beach, and great food options in house or walking around the neighboring area. The spa is lovely, with steam, sauna, indoor and outdoor pool, as well as a good menu of services. Honestly, my only complaint is that the carpet in the room needs updating. Other than that, a perfect stay!

An old world grand hotel with very attentive staff. I cannot fault the hotel, except that the pool water has no heating and this should be mentioned in the info about the hotel. The highlight is the staff who try to assist all guests in every way possible.

What can I say about this five-star stay? From the moment we arrived, sweaty bikers with tatty luggage, we were cared for and made to feel like VIPs. I loved both the outdoor pool and the spa with its 'dynamic pool'.

The Palacio team were wonderful. Accomodation and facilities were, as always, excellent. However, since our last visit a few years ago the charges for food and drink seem to have rocketed. Also, this time, there was a lot of disturbance during the day and night from conferences and weddings etc. There were also rowdy guests at the pool that the management did little to address. Sadly, we wont be coming back because of this. Prices have gone up but the special atmosphere seems to have been lost.

The building facade, entrance, dining, bar and terrace are indeed 5*, but the rooms are not. During the night, on three separate occasions, I had to kill a large moth and two small one that's were flapping above my head in the dark. The windows were shut but I assume they are accessing through another cavity. The large one was 4cm long, very unattractive! Till beyond midnight, adjacent rooms were moving furniture causing noise to wrattle and groan around the building. The hotel should fit special small soft pads to furniture legs (these are easy and cheap to get). When I checked in, I went to take a shower at 5pm, the water was warm, not hot, cue cold shower. The bathroom smelt damp. A disrupted sleep for a 5 star hotel is not acceptable, and moths flying around a room at 2am isn't either. Another traveller said you could hear the lift all night opening and closing and the doors to other rooms slamming. I wouldn't return.

Beautiful hotel - super clean, airy, elegant and with a fantastic large, safe and peaceful pool. The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly- they’ll make anything you want at breakfast! It’s more of an adults hotel, but they looked after children very well. Our room was the Standard and was extremely comfortable, quiet and very well appointed. Estoril is not that exciting a place, although the beaches are good. But the hotel is 2 mins from the railway station and bus links. This makes it incredibly easy to get to Lisbon and Sintra.

Such a beautiful, clean and well run hotel! We were so happy on our ten night stay that we didn’t want to leave. The spa is fantastic and breakfast was amazing! The staff was friendly, professional and so helpful. Rooms were sparkling clean and spacious.

Der Pool und das Frühstück waren sehr gut. Das Zimmer war sehr abgewohnt und im Bad gab es nur einen Duschvorhang, keine Verglasung. Wir hatten ein Zimmer mit Balkon und Poolblick gebucht. Unser Zimmer hatte aber leider keinen Balkon. Darüber hinaus reisten wir mit unserem kleinen Hund an. Die Gebühren für den Hund waren immens hoch. Der Hund sollte 75€ kosten, was wir erst im Nachhinein mitgeteilt bekommen haben. Wir waren schon oft in fünf- Sterne-Hotels, aber so viel hat noch kein Hotel verlangt. Der Service an der Eingangstür und der Zimmerservice waren sehr gut. Der Empfang an der Rezeption bei der Ankunft war mäßig. Wir haben keine Getränke angeboten bekommen, obwohl der Spender direkt daneben stand. Die Zimmer sollten einmal renoviert und etwas modernisiert werden, auch wenn es ein Haus mit Tradition ist.

Terrible stay at this place. Lots of noise from an extractor from 5am. Iron burnt my clothes. Hair dryer broken. Window curtains broken and I have picture for proof of all of this. This is more like a 2 star hotel.

This is a very good hotel. The service is very good, the food is good, the rooms are comfortable, clean and have all the amenities. However, they need to have more sockets and power outlets, such as usb to update to todays world of tech. Some sockets didn’t work and placed at floor level. The bedside sockets were for the lamps and difficult to access. It’s all quite dated, but that provides the charm and style which is lacking in other newer and more tech friendly hotels. The power points are an issues, but it’s better to suffer that than lack of substance, comfort and style. A maior issue and not to do with the hotel is the lack of considerably the local ‘Cascais Council’ who obviously don’t care about tourism - a skateboard championship was taking place in the casino gardens and music!! at one of the beach bars with extremely loud sound systems, which made it unbearable to sit by the pool without earphones or sleep with windows open. Shame on the local council - I’ve complained but no response and that’s no surprise ! !! We’ve stayed countless times and will go back soon, but may be not in high season.

We have stayed here several times now and each time is as good as the first. The staff, rooms and facilities are all excellent. Breakfast has a good selection with some changes each morning. We stayed in a pool view balcony room and it was clean and serviced everyday. The location is very good with a short walk along the front to cascais and east access to the train station to visit lisbon. Sintra and guincho are short bus rides away also.

This should NOT be rated a 5 star VIP property. Rooms are old and outdated. There is an old carpet probably from 1969 and the rooms are not of a 5 star hotel. We checked in and checked out within 2 hours of arriving.

This is my second visit to Hotel Palácio and this time rather disappointed. Not a very good welcome at the check-in, I’m not talking about the doorman, who was professional but rather the reception desk, room error, etc…in the pool area, there is a real lack of training in costumer service. On the other hand, breakfast service is impeccable.

Liked:Leisure facilities, breakfast, the history of the hotel Didn\'t like: Rooms and furnishings need to be updated. Communication between visitor and staff was poor at times. Slowness of housekeeping - took 20mins to get a cup and saucer delivered as there were none in the room. Also asked housekeeper to take away drinks from minibar - this took ages to be done and then we were charged on final bill for the entire minibar (this was corrected after told the depts didn\'t communicate this request to each other). Overall it was a nice hotel but if you are staying in a "5 star" hotel you expect a "5 star" level of customer service - unfortunately we did not feel we got this.

the place is interestingly historic, with that old flavor and service. What made end my stay with no good feelings was that they came to check the minibar the morning I was leaving. Setting the bottles (of beer) upside down and checking the taps (in case I had drank them and left them fakedly closed in the mini-bar??). Very humiliating and, in my opinion, unnecessary. If they think I can pay almost 300 euros for a room, and then do something so cheap as to sneak a 2-euros beer without paying...I had never seen anything like it, and was certainly not expecting it in a 4-star hotel

On the whole the staff were excellent with the exception of reception; they were lovely but had to be reminded twice of some of the details of our booking E.g. a discount on food and drinks plus a bottle of wine in the room. The breakfast is excellent as is the bar, with a great range of cocktails and a fascinating history.

This Place is beautiful and the staff is amazing. We did not get any vip access or room upgrade so that was disappointing. The food was great, I would suggest the pool hire some more staff so a drink doesn’t take 30 minutes to get. Some days the pool service was slow and the young ladies did not know what they were doing. We didn’t have lunch 2 days because of service at the pool. The front desk staff and doormen, cleaning and concierge were fantastic! Can’t wait to return.

As soon as we got to the hotel we were amazed by the service of the friendly staff. Everything took a bad turn on our last day when a small bag of jewelry went missing after housekeeping had been in our room to clean. We had put the small bag in a make up bag on a table, so there’s no way it went missing on its own. If you’re going to stay here, put everything of value in a safe box because the employees clearly can’t be trusted. Because of this incident, we will never return to this hotel and I advise anyone I know to stay away from it.

The Hotel was in a great location. They did a very good breakfast. The concierge Antonio was a pro and took care of us. The only downside was there was a wed dining that went until 6:00 am and we got no sleep one of the nights . Not the quietest area in the summer. The Spa connected to hotel was limited . I felt very safe there. It was a very good central area to Uber to Sintra as well as to Restaraunt’s and to walk ocean front.

Visited mid May for 4 nights but wished we'd booked for longer. Hotel was amazing. From our arrival we were made to feel so good. Greeted at door and taken to our room with a tour of hotel in between. Absolutely beautiful, luxurious hotel. Room had everything we needed and more. Bed was so comfortable and service made us feel so special. The bar staff were great, cocktails and wine excellent and ambiance in the bar lovely. Best breakfast selection ever. Very indulgent and waiting staff were so professional and attentive. Facilities at pool and the attendees were excellent. Would highly recommend and will definitely be back. Can't wait.

An absolutely beautiful hotel. The room was fabulous. We enjoyed reading about the history of the hotel. The staff was excellent and very helpful. The only negative was our dinner at the hotel was very disappointing. On the other hand, the breakfast, the next morning was outstanding.
